Chapter 78 We’re evil
~The next morning~
“You should have let us do it my way. All these frustrating things wouldn’t even come up.” Alec uttered with a scoff, shaking his head as he slammed into the couch.
“Can you at least tell me what happened first? Is this about Aurora?” Anita asked worriedly and curiously as she settled next to him. Her heart raced uncontrollably in expectation of his revelation.
“Of course, what else is going to annoy me this much? He has proposed to her! Arthur has fking proposed to her. He made it official.” Alec answered with anger evident in his voice.
Anita went silent as she reminisced over what she had just heard. For some reason, she wasn’t as troubled as Alec was.
“Why don’t you look mad, right now?” He asked after noticing her countenance.
“Because I think it’s even better this way. If they get married, and I appear to ruin it, then the pain is even more on her. And then you will be there as a shoulder to cry on. It’s amazing!” She answered as she broke into laughter.
The whole scenario played in her head and it seemed like the perfect plan.
“So you aren’t worried?”
“Not one bit, Alec. The only thing that could have ruined everything is if I didn’t do my part. I did my part and it was successful. They’ll never be together. You need to trust me on this.”
Alec nodded and smiled faintly as his worries slowly melted away.
“Wow. I can’t believe you’re so into this too.” Anita added, embracing him from the side.
“Oh please! If I wasn’t so into this, I wouldn’t be chasing after her like some dummy. Before I forget, I saw her having an agreement with a woman last night and this made her hop into my car without thinking twice. She was even crying.” He uttered, causing Anita to crease her brows.
“A woman? Did you figure out who she was?” She asked, and he shook his head.
“No, I didn’t because it wouldn’t be polite of him to just ask her questions in such a situation. But don’t worry, I’ll find out more about her. She must be someone so close to her to make her cry.”
“You think? Maybe she’s her mother?” Anita further inquired in curiosity and Alec shrugged.
“Who knows? I’ll find out more about her and see if we could use it to our advantage.” He uttered, and she bobbed in agreement.
“So… when are you going to break the good news to him??”
“This will be a surprise to you too.” She answered teasingly and stood up.
“What?? We are in this together!” Alec answered, standing too.
“Well, you’ll have to make me happy before I tell you anything further.” She answered with a smirk, walking backwards as she began to unbutton her shirt.
“I see.” He responded with an evil smirk, reaching for his belt as he began to unbuckle it too. As soon as Anita’s dress came off, Alec grew impatient.
He pulled his pants down alongside his boxer as he began to approach her. Getting closer to her, Anita hit her lower lip as he swept her off her feet and carried her into the room.
“You better give me the best fk of my life before we finally part ways after all these are over.” She whispered as he placed her on the bed.
Alec furrowed his brows and moved back. “What do you mean?”
“What?” Anita asked, raising her upper body from the bed.
“You just said we’ll part ways after our plan succeeds.” Alec uttered with an expression of unbelief written on his face.
“Yes. Why? What did you expect? That we’ll get married and live happily ever after?”
Alec’s eyebrows raised as he stared at her. “Are you serious, right now? So what the hell are we?”
“C’mon, Alec. Stop acting like a baby. We are just fk buddies with a common goal. So you really thought we’d get married? Haven’t you realized that we don’t even match each other? We are both evil. If we end of together, you’ll give birth to the devil himself.” She answered.
Alec scoffed and got out of bed. “I should have known this would happen after you kept denying your feelings for Arthur. You were just trying to hide the truth from me.”
“That’s not it! There’s no truth to hide. I don’t love Arthur, but I don’t love you either. We are together right now for our plan, nothing more.” She answered, opening her legs wider.
“So, are we going to do this or not?” She asked with a smirk. Alec shook his head and reached for his shirt.
“I’m out of here.” He muttered, walking out of the room.
“What? Wait! Where the hell are you going?!!” Anita yelled, running after him.
“To keep working on the plan since that’s what is so important to both of us.” He answered without looking back. He started putting on his clothes, ready to leave.
He got to the door and stopped. He turned back to look at her and said; “And Aurora is a very beautiful and lovely woman. Since we can’t both be evil and be together. I might just be real with her instead.”
“Alec!” She yelled as he walked out of the house. “Don’t you dare do something stupid!” She yelled even more, but Alec ignored her.
“Watch me.” He muttered to himself as he hopped into his car. He ignited his engine and drove out of the compound angrily.
As he hit the road, he reached for his phone and called Aurora. He put it on speaker and placed it on his lap as he waited for her to answer.
And just like he wanted, she answered the phone.
“Hello, Beautiful.” He uttered, instantly erasing the angry feeling that welled inside of him.
“Alec. Hi!”
“How are you today?? Do you feel better now?” He inquired.
“Yes, I do. Thank you so much for checking up on me. And thank you for yesterday. You came at the right time.” She answered, causing a smile to curve up his lips.
“Anything for you, Aurora. Are you in the restaurant now? I’d love to blow off some steam by eating some delicious food made by you.”
“Oh, Mr. Alec. I’m flattered. I’m just leaving for work. I haven’t even stepped out of my compound yet.”
“Even better. I’ll be right there in less than three minutes.” He answered.
“What?! You were heading here before?”
“Well, not really. I pass through your house when coming from home. I’ll give you a lift to work. Let’s talk better when we see.” He uttered, and hung up afterward.
After a few minutes, he got to Aurora’s apartment and saw her standing in front of her gate.
“Hey!” He waved at her from inside the car, and she let out a wide smile.
“Hey!” She walked to the door and just before she could open it, he stopped her. He alighted and rushed to the door to get it for her.
“You didn’t…”
“I did.” He answered as he stepped aside for her to hop in. After she got in, he shut the door and walked to the driver’s door.
‘Maybe being with you wouldn’t be that bad.’
