Chapter 111:

Chapter 113:
Pythia POV:

This is the moment I had been waiting for. The moment my mother and I come face to face one last time. I thought I had killed her all those years ago, but I was wrong. She had been hiding behind everyone she could and slowly tried to attack us in any way that she possibly could. Today was the day all of this came to an end. One of us would be walking away while they other does not and I had a lot to live for.

Everything became so chaotic so quickly. As I stormed my way to the field my eyes found her instantly. She was my mirror image and she was looking straight at me. I heard Delilah growl.

“Go help the others. This is something I have to do alone.” I whispered to her. I knew she wouldn’t like it, but I didn’t want my mother to think I was cheating.

“She is magically enhanced. Let me stay and heal you.” Delilah nearly begged.

“Okay, healing only. No additional help.” I said.

“Deal. You’ve got this Pythia.” Delilah whispered as she retreated to the back of my mind. I felt the rush of heat surround us and I looked to see Alley had kept everyone else back with a wall of fire.

“Thank You.” I said through the link.

I saw my mother start to run which lead me into a full on sprint. Anger roared through me as we clashed in the middle. She went to swing her fist at me and I grabbed her by the arm, lifted her off the ground and slammed her back first into it. I heard the air leave her lungs for a split second. I took a step back, allowing her to get up. I wasn’t going to make this easy on her.

When she got back to her feet she charged at me once more. I planted my feet as she tried to tackle me, I wrapped my arms around her back and raised one arm and drove my elbow deep into her side. My feet were dragging across the ground, she lifted me slightly and I used the force I mustered to drive my knee into her face. She stumbled backwards before her eyes set on mine.

“You little bitch.” She muttered.

“Takes one to know one.” I snapped. We circled each other before meeting in the middle. We were going blows for blows. She drove her fist into my jaw jerking my head to the side slightly. I swung my fist into her nose, feeling it break under my fist. She grabbed a handful of my hair, jerking my head down meeting her knee. I felt the blood gush out of my nose. I grabbed her by the leg and slammed her into the ground, driving my foot into her stomach. She tried to grab my ankle and I stumbled backwards. I felt the heat of fire around me and I looked to see Alley had put it around us to keep everyone back.

“So you need help after all.” My mother spat. Her eyes were shifting around us.

“She is looking for Carten.” Jasper said through the link and I smirked.

“Looking for someone?” I asked. She narrowed her eyes at me. I could feel Delilah trying to work as quickly as she could. I didn’t have time to watch the chaos around us. One wrong move and she would end my life. I knew she would figure out that I had Delilah, but I noticed some of her injuries were healing as well.

“How is she healing herself?” I asked through the link to Jasper and Jenson. They would be able to see her thoughts and tell me.

“She is tied to the witches life force. When they die her power runs out.

“Kill them all.” I said just as I got my hands on her. I swung my fist as hard as I could into her ribs, hearing them crack on impact. She drove her fist into the side of my head and I stumbled backwards. Shaking my head trying to clear my vision before she got to me. I felt spirit rush it’s way through my body. Alley. She was doing everything she could to heal me.

“Thank you.” I whispered. Now able to see the mad woman in front of me. I ran towards her, just as she got within my reach I spun digging the heal of my foot into her stomach. When she doubled over I raised my other leg and kicked her in the face sending her to the ground. I went to step forward when the ground under us started to shake. I looked around for a moment to see Leia and Brandon charging over the hill followed by wolves from Atheas realm. I smiled seeing them.

“NO!” My mother shouted.

“Yes. You are done. You’ve lost this war.” I replied, taking deep breaths. My lungs felt like they couldn’t get enough.

“I have not. Until I am dead I have not lost.” My mother spat. She stood to her feet with a slick grin on her face. One I used to be so scared of.

“They won’t be able to help you now.” My mother cackled before she raised her arms. The ground under my feet shifted and something surrounded us.

“Tye! Get Lillith!” I screamed through the link. I knew what she was doing. She was shutting us off from everyone.

“Pythia! What is-” Tyes voice cut off mid sentence as the bubble surrounded us. I knew Tye would get Lillith and she would know how to break this.

“And you said I needed help.” I muttered before running at her. If this is what she wanted then this is what she will get until Lillith breaks the walls around.

I blocked her fist just before it collided with my face, I could feel the blood pouring out of my wounds. She swung her arm out and I caught it, slinging her over my head and into the ground. She rolled before she raised up on her elbow. I steadied myself. Feeling calmer than I ever have before.

“Remember, she is not stronger than you. She is not better than you. You are a warrior. Now show her what that means.” Lucindas voice floated through my head. Giving me that reassurance that I needed in this moment. This fight was dragging on. Neither side was really pushing the other to the point of death just yet and I couldn’t help but ask myself why.

“She is still your mother.” Delilah answered my echoing thoughts.

“But I thought I killed her years ago.” I said.

“And you felt a small amount of guilt.” Delilah stated matter of factly. She was right. No matter how terrible our parents are, a small part of us never truly wants to end their life. My mother was supposed to be my guide in this life and I think I hung on to that a lot longer than I should have. I took a deep breath and looked at her as she got to her feet. She was tired, the life lines she once had were now gone. She had nothing but herself and she knew it. I could see the fear behind her eyes that she tried so desperately to conceal. She knew the outcome of this.  She knew deep down that she stood no real chance against me and the kicker was, I haven’t used any ounce of my abilities. This was me. All me, but it’s time this fight comes to an end.
