Chapter 18

Eli became increasingly afraid, he stopped his work tonight. Everything he knew about the old factory and the mysterious boy made his mind become confused, Eli could feel the strangeness that had begun to occur within him since that day, the first day he met the boy.

Eli looked down sadly, he walked away. Suddenly a strange shadow appeared behind him, Eli turned his head and opened his eyes wide. There was someone walking out of the old house, Eli hid but he could still peek at the mysterious figure. A man with a hideous face was pulling a large black bag, and that man was the same person he always saw every time the terrible corpses were thrown away.

"Sraakkk..." Eli accidentally stepped on a tree branch, the terrible man turned to the source of the sound as if he was aware that someone was watching him at the moment.

Eli immediately hid behind the bushes, his body shaking and cold sweat dripping all over his body. Eli cried, he didn't know why he had gotten involved in terrible things like this. 

Eli, who was confused, immediately ran away, he could feel the man still standing in front of the old house and maybe now the mysterious man could see him running in fear because he had seen something terrible.

“Braakk… !” A sedan hit Eli, his frail body was thrown and his head hit the asphalt.

The driver of the car immediately got out with a woman. They were shocked and intended to help Eli who was still lying on the asphalt.

"Oh my God, how is this?" said the woman in fear, she immediately turned pale when she saw Eli's head was injured and bleeding. Meanwhile, the man driving the car immediately lifted Eli's head to ensure that the girl was still alive and breathing.

"He's still alive..." said the man while checking Eli's pulse.

"Is it true ? oh my god, thank God...!”

"Hueekk..." Eli vomited, his stomach churned and he felt so nauseous.

The men and women were immediately shocked to see Eli, who immediately got up and vomited in front of them. The man looked at him with pity, seeing Eli's appearance he immediately guessed that Eli was a homeless person who lived on the edge of town.

"Are you okay ? how about we take you to the hospital, your head is injured.” The man said while touching Eli's shaking shoulder.

Eli shrank in fear, his appearance was disheveled and his face was pale and his thin body made him look even more weak. Eli just shook his head, he moved away a little as if he didn't want anyone to touch him.

Prai and the woman looked at each other, they could understand why Eli looked so afraid of strangers. The woman approached and looked gently at Eli's face.

"Shall we go to the hospital? Don't worry, we won't hurt you. "You must be treated immediately because your head and hands are injured." The woman said trying to calm Eli.

Eli kept shaking his head, but he had stopped crying. Eli looked for a moment at the man and woman in front of him, Eli thought maybe they could help him.

"I...there's...someone..." he stuttered, Eli tried to talk to the two people.

"Somebody ? Who ?" asked the woman trying to ask.

"A...there was a strange man carrying a corpse in front of the house..." answered Eli in a weak voice, he cried again but his cries were silent, only his tears were flowing.

“Corpse?” They were shocked and looked at each other as if they couldn't believe the words of the girl they had just bumped into.

The woman started to feel uneasy, she immediately looked at the old factory which was surrounded by bushes and tall grass. The woman motioned for the man to talk privately, she felt that something was wrong with the girl. It felt like the accident that just happened was intentional.

"What is it ?" asked the man following his lover to get away from the strange girl for a moment.

“Don't you see how strange he is? We'd better just go!" the woman asked.

"What ? You mean we should leave the child alone, right?"

“Johnny, I'm afraid, there's something wrong with the situation I'm feeling right now. Why did the girl suddenly cross? Am I not suspicious? What if he's not actually alone here?” he said giving an explanation to his lover.

"But we can't leave him here alone, he's injured!"

“But..but…”

"Just calm down, if you see anything suspicious, tell me." The man approached Eli again, in fact he felt just as afraid as the woman. But the feeling of guilt because he had hit the girl made him unable to just leave.

"We will take you to the hospital, let me help!" he said while trying to grab Eli's arm, but Eli immediately refused. He really didn't want to go to the hospital or anywhere else.
