Chapter 17
Eli looked at the doll for a moment, he couldn't think at all. Eli didn't know when the doll had been talking to him. Eli looked at the doll in front of him closely. Showing a sharp gaze, but the doll remained silent, only a wide, scary smile remained.
Eli turned his gaze to the window. Today the moon in the sky looks full and orange. Eli thought for a moment, finally he decided to go out tonight. Eli didn't know what he would see tonight, but he didn't care. Eli just wanted to end it all. For a child like him, this would be the most reckless thing he had ever done in his life.
Eli managed to get out without his family realizing, they were just a bunch of insensitive people living in the same house. Neither knowing nor caring about each other, They are just a bunch of terrible humans. Eli closed the door of his house quietly so that it didn't make a sound. He didn't lock it because he knew there wouldn't be a thief who would come into this house.
The damp and cold ground felt again on the soles of his feet, Eli felt comfortable. His eyes looked at the sky filled with stars, Eli smiled slightly looking at the sparkling stars that seemed to accompany his every step. Eli started walking away from his house, occasionally looking behind him. Eli knows how much he wants to leave the house where he grew up, but Eli is aware of his own weakness. He was unable to speak well to other people, unable to read and write, Eli, whose body was weak, could not possibly survive outside.
His courage appeared only at night, he only dared to go out when the moon was visible and the stars were sparkling beautifully. Yes, Eli knows because at night he can walk wherever he likes and no one will care. Eli never knew that walking alone at night was not something a woman should do, even though she could be harassed by bad people, but Eli never knew that before he experienced it himself.
His footsteps take Eli back to the old factory, where he meets a mysterious boy who makes him experience more terrifying things than usual. Previously, Eli barely knew anyone apart from his family, which made Eli understand a little that strangers weren't much worse than his family.
After walking for almost twenty minutes, Eli finally arrived in front of an old factory, it was dark, the building looked increasingly gloomy. Eli watched him far ahead, in his heart he hoped the boy would appear like the previous nights. He appeared in darkness and disappeared in the midst of darkness too.
Eli just stood beside the big banyan tree without doing anything. He stood for minutes, but there was no sign that the boy would come out of the old factory. Eli turned his face to the right. Behind the trees next to the factory there was a light shining, Eli just realized that there was a house being built not far from the factory. Even though the factory and residential areas are quite far apart, perhaps the house is the only building closest to the factory.
Eli started to get curious, trying to guess whether the boy actually lived in the old house. Eli stepped slowly through the tall wild grass, he wanted to get to the house as soon as possible.
Eli was afraid, but his curiosity was far greater than his fear at this time. Eli couldn't stop walking. His heart seemed to guide his footsteps towards the old house. Eli looked at the old house, inside there was a bright light, there must be residents in the house. Eli pondered for a moment, feeling something strange in his heart. Her tears flowed without her realizing it, the feelings of anxiety and fear never ended.
"What actually happened? Why me...?” Eli pondered for a moment, trying to improve his mood amidst the strange fear.
This old house seemed to hold something dark, something very terrible that had happened, but why did Eli feel this kind of fear? Eli felt that he had nothing to do with the old house in front of him, in fact he felt like he had never come to this house.
"Sraakkk..." the wild grass behind him moved, as if someone was walking behind him.
"Who...who's there?" asked Eli as he turned around, Eli was shocked to death. Cold sweat was pouring down his body, not to mention the strange air around this house which made him feel short of breath.
There is nothing, there is no one. It was too quiet in this place, Eli didn't hear the sound of insects or birds, not even the sound of the wind. The only sound he heard was the sound of the grass being stepped on by someone and that person was not him.
