Part 113 a
Seira sighed softly. His hand put back the cell phone that had just connected with Robert. She wanted to be angry but couldn't because everything that happened was not his fault. The delay in flying was due to the extreme weather conditions around Australian waters which were an obstacle.
"Ma'am," called one of Sofia's confidants who brought a change of clothes. "Your therapist is waiting for you in the next room."
She only responds with a faint smile. She left the clothes hanging in one corner of her room. As long as Robert wasn't around, she would stay in this apartment. She was free to use whatever was available, including the main room. Even so, Seira always maintained her privacy. Rarely were other people allowed in unless it was important.
[Robert: You take it easy. I arrived in Jakarta at about midnight. The event is at 9 o'clock, right?"]
Seira stared without interest at the message that had just appeared on her phone's homepage. It wasn't that she didn't want to reply immediately but her mind was suddenly in turmoil. She was afraid that something bad would happen to Robert. And this too, made her not want to do anything because she was thinking about Robert.
If someone could lend her a magic door, she would stake it right near him. Then pull Robert to be in front of it. Shutting down her future husband no less.
"Mi."
Olive's voice broke Seira's reverie. Making her immediately put away her cell phone and extend her hand to greet her daughter. Tonight, Olive looked beautiful even though she was only wearing a loose negligee. Even though her pregnancy had not yet shown itself in the form of a slightly bulging stomach, why did Olive complain that she felt hot. The air conditioner in the apartment was set at a fairly cold temperature because of Olive's complaints.
"What's wrong?" asked Seira as she ruffled her daughter's hair. "You're getting pale wearing this color. I'll choose the right one for you. You were really pretty at the party, but why not now?"
"Mami, uh!" Olive sneered. "I don't wear makeup so I look dull. My lips look dry, don't they?"
"Eat fruit, Olive."
For some reason, Olive felt that her mother's words were not too excited. Not like the day before. Or... a few hours ago, anyway! The twinkle on her mother's face couldn't hide that Seira was excited about the upcoming event. Oma Gisel had just returned home. Together with Marta who came accompanied by a man who was reportedly already in a relationship that was more than just a friend.
In Olive's eyes, the man was not bad. Although Thomas is more handsome to Olive. She would also be grateful! Marta no longer feels hurt or disappointed because Thomas chose Olive, even though she has a lot of words of rebuttal if Marta brings up her being close to Thomas. Yee ... what did Olive want to be around Thomas all the time?
Even the man who became her husband was aggressively approaching her.
Olive is not wrong!
"Yes, Mi." Olive chose to lean on her mother's shoulder instead. "What's wrong with you, Mommy? How come you're a bit gloomy?"
Seira smiled slightly. "I'm... afraid something's not right."
Olive chuckled. "In Aunt Sofia's hands, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. I've also seen Aunt Sofia's teamwork. Very cool, Mi."
Seira admitted that with full conviction. But ... her words earlier were just to cover up the anxiety she was actually experiencing. "Om Ro told me earlier, Olive," she said quietly. Usually, she rarely talked about her worries. He preferred to swallow it himself.
Making sure that those around him, especially Olive, were okay was more than enough. If there was something that worried him, he would just suppress it and live with it. But it seems, he can't hold back for too long. After all, if everything goes well and God blesses, Robert will become Olive's stepfather, right? It was only right that Olive knew how her future father was doing.
"Tell me what?" asked Olive rather curiously. She adjusted her recline a little. To make it more comfortable and less burdensome for her mother. She realized that she was no longer a child. Don't let her mother get tired because of her behavior. Tomorrow... a big day for her mother. She herself couldn't wait to see Seira in her wedding dress. Or belaya at the wedding ceremony.
She must be so beautiful.
Her red hair was even shinier. Seira's face didn't look like she was forty years old. Seriously. Olive was amazed by her mother. She was so young.
"There was a late flight due to bad weather," Seira said quietly. Her hands were squeezing each other. Her eyes were slightly downcast as her anxiety grew.
Seeing and knowing that this news was not something to be taken lightly, Olive took her mother's hand. Making them look at each other even though it was brief. "I don't know if this can make Mami calm or not. But Mami always said that if you pray sincerely to God, it will be heard. Right, Mi?"
"Yes." Seira smiled. "I've been doing that since Om Ro gave me the news." She returned the handshake no less tightly. "But I can't let go of the worry, Olive. I'm afraid... something bad will happen to Om Ro."
"I hope not." Olive wasn't sure if she wanted to say this. For some reason, she felt like Olive, Mario Teguh's daughter. Who can pour out soothing words to make her mother not worry too much. But she couldn't let her mother look sad like this. "I'm sure God will protect Om Ro, Mi. I'm also worried about Om Ro flying away anytime soon, right? Let it be until the conditions are conducive."
"Yes." Seira smiled slightly. She hugged her daughter rather tightly. "You're a bit mature today, huh."
"Ih, Mami! I'm already two-three. In two months I'll be two-four!"
Seira laughed. "Yes, yes. The older you get, the older I get."
Olive scowled. "Don't talk about being old! I feel like a little wife married to an old man like Thomas."
"Hush!" Seira burst into laughter. "You're right to be gratuitous when you talk."
"But reality can't be avoided, Mi."
"Would you like it if Thomas wasn't your husband?" She lightly flicked Olive's forehead. It made her moan loudly. It was excessive, but Olive was in a stage where everything had to be above normal. Just like now. screamed in disgust but then hugged her mother tightly.
"If I miss Mami, I can't just barge into Mami's room, right?"
Seira shook her head in surprise.
"Will you be staying here or what? Om Ro told Thomas that he wants to buy the house next to ours that's being renovated."
"Your husband can't keep a secret sometimes." Seira chuckled. "The plan was meant to be told later."
"Ih!" Olive folded her arms across her chest. "It's not good to hide things from me, tauk! It's a sin!"
"Nonsense!" Seira laughed.
For all the things in the world, her mother's laughter was the most expensive diamond she could enjoy. Its shine did not fade with time. It always made her calm and safe and deep down, that laughter was part of Olive's hope for her mother's life.
Happy. With whoever her life partner was now. just not Tio, yes. I don't know. Olive felt that Tio was a bully. Who wanted nothing to do with her life now. It's up to Tio and that fussy boy how his life is now, the most important thing is not to nod at Olive and her mother.
They talked a lot, especially about the preparations for the party that will be held tomorrow. The clock on the wall kept ticking until the person who had reminded Seira to go to the therapist's room knocked again.
"Ah, talking to you made me forget."
"Yeeeah, don't blame me, huh." He nudges his mom to leave her room. No. Seira doesn't refuse at all, but just follows because she's already expected. "I was born to be fun, right?"
