Her Beauty

Her Beauty
Sicilia

Beside Alpha Ken stood a young man, he looked like a nerd, and his eyes were hidden behind his glasses. A big file was in his hand, I didn't need to be told before I guessed that the man was Ken's Beta.

‘Weird, the Gamma looks more handsome and muscular than the Beta,’ I thought, my eyes scrutinizing the young man.

“He will surely tell me Ken's secrets if I place a sharp knife on his neck,” I reasoned, and my eyes fell on Alpha Ken. I felt a pang of anger run through my mind. ‘What have I ever done to deserve the type of death I got? Ken should be buried six feet underground.’

‘All in a good time, Sicilia, don't forget your job is to get him to trust you, then you backstab him when he least expects it,’ I tried calming myself.

“Alpha Ken,” I greeted with a smile that didn't reach my eyes.

Ken didn't reply to my greetings, but his gaze lingered on me, his expression unreadable. I maintained a neutral facade, trying to keep my calm.

Tessa's voice broke the tension. "Alpha Ken has arrived. Let's take our seats."

I followed Tessa to the servants' table, my eyes locked on Ken. He claimed the head seat, his mistresses flanking him. Arianna and Brenda were shocked to see me at the servants’ table. I also felt ashamed on behalf of myself, but I didn't let it weigh me down. Luckily, the two mistresses didn't make any comment, they were probably too busy figuring out what was happening.

Lady Priya caught my attention, her warm smile and genuine laughter a cozy difference from Ariana and Brenda's malicious demeanor.

As dinner progressed, I observed Ken's interactions with his sister and mistresses. Priya was the only one who seemed to bring out a hint of humanity in him. He looked free and happy beside her, and he kept smiling at her every word.

‘Could Priya be his weakness?’ My mind whirled with strategies, but I noticed the sincere smile on Priya’s face. I pitied her for a moment, but I quickly called myself into order. ‘All Kevin's sisters were evil, they don't deserve my compassion.’

We were about twenty servants at the table, and my joy knew no bounds when Clara, Betty, and two other maids came to join us. They seemed to be faring better, and they were well dressed, their bruises taken care of. I didn't know why, but I felt extremely happy to see them in a better condition.

“Clara, over here,” I called out to her, forgetting where I was. My call attracted the attention of the people at the main table, and they turned to face me, but I didn't mind one bit, and I waved my hands at her.

“Your decorum, bitch," the lady who I guessed was the assistant head maid growled at me with an intense gaze.

I looked at her momentarily, wondering if I should break her fingers or cut off her mouth, but I decided to ignore her stupidity, telling myself not to gain unnecessary attention.

They {the new maids who had just entered} bowed at the Alpha respectfully. Clara was excited to see me, and she quickly found her way to my side. We both hugged, and I welcomed her to sit down in the empty seat beside me.

Clara's eyes sparkled with joy as she sat beside me. "Sicilia, I thought I'd never see you again," she whispered.

I squeezed her hand reassuringly. "I'm here now. How have you been?"

Clara's expression turned somber. "It's been tough, but Lady Priya helped us. She's been kind to us."

My gaze drifted to Priya, who was laughing with Ken. Could she truly be different from the rest of Ken's family?

“Didn't you say you're one of the Alpha's guests? Who would have thought you'd turn out to be a lowlife maid!" Arianna sneered at me, her eyes staring at the watery meal placed on my table.

I met Arianna's condescending gaze, my expression serene. "Circumstances change, Mistress Arianna. One must adapt to the size." I answered, stressing the "mistress” part.

Clara tensed beside me, but I placed a reassuring hand on her arm.

Lady Priya intervened, her voice firm. "Arianna, that's enough. You are no different from the servants."

Arianna's lips curled into a sneer, but she refrained from further comment. She turned to look at Ken, hoping he would scold Priya, but the Alpha continued to eat his meal, acting oblivious to our quarrel.

Arianna's face fell, her eyes flashing with anger, but she remained silent. Brenda offered her a smile, and I could swear I saw the both of them plotting out my doom.

“Don't mind, Arianna. She has a reputation for not minding her business," Lady Priya said to me, and I nodded, unsure of how to reply.

The room turned quiet once more, and everyone focused on their meal. My eyes sparked as I looked at Lady Priya. What motivated her to protect a servant? Or is that her way of proving her superiority? Hmm, that's definitely the reason, they always treat people like shit.

As dinner concluded, Priya's gaze fell on me once more. "Sicilia, I'd like a word with you."

My heart skipped a beat. Had I already aroused suspicion?

Tessa and Clara looked concerned, but there was nothing they could say. The head maid, Delilah, was happy to see me taken away, and she flashed her teeth menacingly.

With a neutral expression, I rose from my seat, following Priya to a private chamber, but I made sure to read the expression on Ken's face, just in case he was behind the plot. He didn't look surprised, he wasn't even paying us any attention, instead, he was talking with his Beta, Victor.

As I entered the private chamber, Priya's gaze pinned me, her expression unreadable. Suddenly, a broad smile appeared on her face.

"Thank you for joining me, Sicilia," Priya said, her sweet voice low and measured.

I was caught off guard by her smile, and I found myself lost in her heavenly beauty.
