Chapter 122 won't do anything
“Let’s head out, am afraid of what rumors will spread”, l added. “I don’t care about what they say”, He all of the sudden took me in his arms and held me tight against his chest. A gasp slipped through my lips at the sudden movement. “You mine”, His darkened eyes held me in place with longing.
“Let me go meet Zara”, l changed the topic after breaking the gaze. “Yeah, let me go meet some Alphas too”, He spoke then we walked out together. We parted ways as soon as we we’re out of the dining room. I slowly made my way to the room where music was coming from. There was no doubting, Zara was perhaps there with her friends. It wasn’t hard to find it, l could hear the loud chatter and laughter from the room over the sound of my heels that were clacking on the floor.
I took a deep breath outside the door as the guard noticed me quickly and opened it quickly. The laughter I’mmediately died down when I entered and all those eyes fall on me. I felt a chill run down my spine at that instant. The feeling of being surrounded by predators was intense. Without Idris on my side, all these werewolves were a threat to my life.
I stared around for a moment. This room was large with wooden walls and rich plum colored accents. Dimly lit black iron chandeliers cast a feint glow on the werewolves. Some of them were drinking, sitting and smoking. The scent of smoke and strong alcohol made me feel sick and uneasy on top of the curious stares.
“Raelynn darling, here you are”, l turned my head when I heard Zara’s voice. “Yeah”, l smiled forcefully. “Has our Alpha abandoned us?”, She joked as she poured me a glass of dark honey colored liquid that smelled strongly like cinnamon. “He has gone in his office”, l spoke accepting the glass of wine but I didn’t dare bring it to my lips because my stomach instantly churned , refusing it.
“Valerie is waiting for you”, She smiled and with no response, l walked with her to where Valerie was. The first thing I noticed was that Leslee was also around but she was hiding in one of the curtains. Her cobalt eyes immediately narrowed and turned to me as soon as she heard my footsteps.
Her look gave me a nasty chill but I shrugged my shoulders and ignored her.
Through the next hour, l tried to immerse myself in the polite conversation but still l felt out of place. The entire time, l was feeling on the edge and increasingly lost in my own world thinking about Idris. As l stood now , the evidence of our tryst was leaking between my thighs. “Raelynn what it darling, you haven’t taken any of your wine”, Zara turned her worried gaze to me after noticing that my glass was still full.
“Nothing much, am just terribly tired, l think I will retire for the evening”, l gently placed down the full glass of wine on the table. “Should I go and prepare for you food”, Zara caught up my hand with concern.
“Am fine Zara, lovely meeting you”, After speaking with a smile, l turned my gaze to Valerie. “Raelynn, Raelynn wait , come with me to the kitchen”, Zara spoke but I only shook my head then walked out of the watching crowd. Not even halfway down the corridor, l heard quick footsteps coming after me.
They were heavy and quick as they raced after me. I knew it that it wasn’t Zara coming after me. I stiffened I’mmediately when l heard the male voice behind my back. “Luna may l walk you back to your room?”, Alex the beta Evervess pack asked while catching up to me. “That won’t be necessary, thank you for offer beta Alex”, l gave him a polite smile and kept my words short.
I turned to walk away but he surprisingly quickly stepped in my path. “It wouldn’t be the gentlemanly thing to do if I leave a lady to walk alone in these long hallways”, He flashed all his teeth in a menacing grin. “I assure you that I know my way and I won’t find any trouble”, l quickly stepped around him but before I could walk away, his hand I’mmediately whipped out and gripped my forearm tightly.
I bit my tongue to hold in the yelp of surprise that threatened to slip out of my lips. The hair on the back of my neck rose and my pulse quickened. “It’s surely not gentlemanly to grab a Luna and yet she has made clear of her intensions”, My voice wavered and the wicked glint in his eyes, l wondered if he could sense my fear.
“Perhaps I should make my intentions as clear as well, l have never seen a creature like you, l once slept with a human but you different”, He leaned in and I could smell the cinnamon whiskey on his breath. His scent made me even want to gag more than I already did with my stomach churning like a storm on the sea.
Red hot heat flashed through my body and l ground my teeth. Narrowing my eyes at the beta, l curled up my fist in preparation. My nostrils flared up and my breathing became heavy. Perhaps he read my body language as interest and that was the mistake because as he leaned in, my fist met his jaws.
White light surrounded my hands as I stood over the sprawled beta on the floor. Panting and spiraling out of my senses, l tried to regain control of the fire that was growing in my chest. “What in the nine hells”, He cursed out loudly while wiping blood from his mouth. His eyes whipped up to mine, wide and flickering as he took in my stance and burning hands.
“I’m the Luna of Blue Moon Pack. The frames of the sun burn with in my blood, if you want to avoid death , stay out of my way”, l spat down at the stock still man cowering on the floor. I could see my reflection in his eyes. It was as if I was possessed with something because my body was glowing as I burned with rage. His face I’mmediately turned ashen and his chin trembled alongside the visible racing pulse in his temple.
“I won’t do anything to….”, He stayed on the ground as I walked angrily away from him.
