Chapter 105 in disbelief

Chapter 105 in disbelief

My skin was crawling as the necromancer spoke of the past and the insanity that led to this situation. "My visions led me to you. After the bastards winning the war, those foolish Werewolves cast me aside. Even though they did that to me, l didn't stop helping them. I still had a thought that one of my best strong witches will be mated to one the feared Alphas but still the moon goddess chose you", This time she spat on the ground in front of me.

"You don't even know how to use magic, you're pathetic, you would have been dead but this sick bast....",

"Hey it's your fault, l tried my level best to get her out of the country", Brian pointed a shaking finger at Vandeer with a low growl. "Whatever. She is still alive", Vandeer waved off Brian's anger as she put the blame of their previously failed plan on him. "Missed opportunities lead to new ones, let's forget the past", The necromancer shrugged and crossed her arms before looking in my way again.

"Idris killed my mate and l won't hesitate eating her for the powers", Brian growled.

"We have to do it today", A vein was pulsing hard in her neck and the sight of it caused a rush of adrenaline to course through me. "Come on we need to prepare for the big event quickly", Brian reached out and grabbed the witch by her hand. Her void black eyes glared at me as he pulled her to the door.

"I can't wait to see her dead", She hissed as they left the room. The heavy metal door clanked shut behind them and they left me alone with the darkness and the dread that was taking over me.

"That bitch has strong powers but she doesn't know how to use it",

An unnatural chill settled over me like a blanket of snow weighing me down when I heard the witch's voice.

They were planning to destroy me but I still had no idea of how l was going to get out of here.

Dread was pulsing through my chest and causing my heart to beat like the pounding of galloping hooves. They wanted to devour me. As l sat here in this cell shaking with fear, they were planning on stripping the flesh from my bones to swallow me whole.

My hands caressed my stomach as silent tears left my eyes. I was only thinking about my little babies. This life within me will end if l die and that was the worst part of it.

I couldn't sit here and wallow in fear and pity while I had lives inside of me.

"What powers are they talking about?", I inwardly asked myself as l stared at my palms.

"Where are the powers?", The words kept echoing in my mind and the more I focused, the more I noticed my body changing.

The concoction of dead man's blood was perhaps leaving my body. I didn't know whether it was the new rage but the light was passing through my palms.

When l saw my breath leave in a cloud in front of my face, l pulled myself into a sitting position then continued to focus.

It could have been minutes or maybe even hours that l sat there on the hard stone floor with the temperature gradually slowing. I was successfully destroying the last traces of the poison within me and awakening the magic. There was a thrumming of power running from the back of my head and down my spine where it ended in my core.

I felt the cold magic spread from the center of my being and slowly into my limbs. The white tendrils like clouds were now roaming in the corners of the dark dungeon. With white tendrils like clouds coming out of my mouth and nose, l got up and stood firm on my two feet. I needed to get out of here.

I reached out and wrapped up my fingers around one of the cold bars of the cell but the moment l did, ice began spreading from my hand to the iron.

I watched in horror as it grew rapidly until when the wall of bars was frozen and fragile. This was perhaps the magic they were talking about. This was all new to me. I pushed my hand and the frozen bars broke into brittle shards and exploded out into dust. I stepped forward and walked to the door. I wasn't hearing my feet step on to the ground as l moved.

I reached the door and pulled the metal from it's frozen hinges. The screeching of the metal being torn was loud and instinct told me anyone with enhanced hearing in the vicinity would hear it. I wasn't scared though. Once through the doorway, l found myself in what appeared to be an underground corridor.

The walls were made of earth and through the cold ,l could smell the richness of the soil. Everything in my way was freezing and l knew it that someone was going to know that something was wrong. The bad thing was that l didn't know how to stop this coldness. I wanted to run quickly as a human.

Just like l had thought about it, within seconds a beast on two feet ran down the hallway and around the corner to my right. I turned to see a werewolf just as he rounded the corner to face me. The half wolf, half human stopped in his tracks and gasped as soon as he took in the sight of me. His pulse on his neck was beating wildly and l could see the thrumming in his veins. He was perhaps scared but I was feeling scared too.

Fighting with werewolves was the last thing I wanted to do. Slowly turning on my feet, l prepared myself to run away from him but the beast came back to his senses quickly and snarled at me, baring monstrous canines and yellow glowing eyes. Just as l saw him lunging towards me, I hurriedly lifted my hand from my side. My palm was facing upwards but shockingly ice rose from the ground in sync with my movements. The wolf didn't even think to look down at the incoming threat and in seconds ice was freezing his boots to the floor.

As the cold reached his legs, the wolf looked down at the thick ice growing up his body. He barely had time to yell before his body was frozen in the place. In the blink of an eye, l was at his side and the beast's eyes widened with the last minute fear. When the wolf dropped on the snow filled ground, l couldn't believe it.

The instant l had a look on my hand, l froze more. My skin was so pale and all my veins were standing out in a striking contrast of dark blue on white. Ice claws had grown over my fingers and palms in crystal clear clarity. It was like diamond. I waved my hand in front of my face as l stared at the claws of ice as sharp as blades.

"Is this earthly for real?", I wondered as l stared at my white-cold hand.
