Chapter One Hundred And Thirty Two

David

I stare at the golden sword in horror. He’s holding the one thing that killed me for good, the object forged by Michael to kill werecat uniters. My twin brother is holding it and he wants to kill me with it. The worst part about all this is that he’s going to kill my parents first and then make me watch, then he’s going to kill me next, and all my lives will be gone. For good this time.

I can’t let them get away with this, which is why I’m trying to get myself free from these ropes using one of my claws to cut myself out, my claws are sharp but these ropes are fucking sharper.

“So you’re going to kill me. What did I do to you, huh?” I ask him, my hand moving behind me I try to do it subtly so he doesn’t notice.

“You’re choosing them over me!”

“That’s because they’re my parents. And I don’t know you.” I say, and he’s taken aback; the hurt has returned back to his eyes, and I let out a breath.

“This is what I mean Miguel. Why don’t we just put the sword down, untie us, and we can be a family? We don’t have to be a family with Mom and Dad because I might love them, but I’m angry with them for keeping this huge secret from me.” I say looking at them. Dad looks away from me in shame, and Mom gives me an apologetic look.

I look back at Miguel and he looks like he’s considering it.

“I don’t want to take over the world. I just want to spend time with you because we’re twins you’re my other half.” I say to him, and he looks away,, and I think I’m getting through to hi,m, that’s until I hear that agitating and annoying voice.

“Don’t listen to him; he’s trying to get into your head,” Dura says to him, and I knew it. I knew Miguel was his puppet all along. Miguel wasn’t born evil, he was born vulnerable.

Holy shit, I think Dura’s responsible for all of this. He’s been planning this for years now.

“Leave him alone Dura!” I shout. “Miguel, you have to listen to Mel. Dura is the reason why Mom and Dad gave you away. Dura influenced a bunch of people to tell Mom and Dad that they were going to be born evil. They put fear in their hearts, and because of that demon, you didn’t grow up with a real family.”

Miguel furrows his brows, his lips quivering. This poor poor kid.

“Mom, Dad, Miguel was never born evil. It was all just a lie. Dura created that lie so you would abandon him and make Miguel angry enough to look for dark magic so he could summon the demon,” Mom and Dad look at me, horrified; Dad shakes his head.

Miguel slowly turns to Dura.

“Is that true?” he asks him. “Please tell me it isn’t true.”

“I had to do what I had to do.”

Oh God, I knew it the bastard.

“Oh, my-you used me? I thought I was your family and you used me.”

“No hard feelings, kid. I just needed to leave the underworld, and you delivered. And I’d like to thank you.” tears escape Migue;’s eyes. “Now, you have the power to do whatever you want. You have the strength to get whatever you want. Don’t waste it now.”

“Don’t you get it? You were never my family, you fucking used me.” Miguel scoffs and shakes his head then backs away from the demon. “You made me think that my parents didn’t love me, and they abandoned me, and all this while, it wasn’t their fault. It was yours.”

“Miguel, don’t let your emotions get the best of you. You have come so far.”

“No, I haven’t.” he throws the golden sword to the ground. “I’m not your puppet anymore you sadistic freak!” I smile, and now I think we’re finally going to be free and we’ll be going back home, but I shouldn’t be so sure about that because Dura looks angry as hell.

“Then you suffer the same fate as the rest of your family members.” he groans and Miguel gets tied up just like me and just when I thought I was going somewhere with the ropes. The ropes around me tighten, and it becomes stronger.

Fucking fuck!

“You’ll never get away with this you punk!” Miguel shouts struggling to get out of the trap that was set for him.

“Mmmm, do you hear that?” Dura asks no one in particular. “That’s the sound of your friends coming to save you. I believe they’ll be here soon. And I’m going to eat their souls and shit it in hell where it belongs.” he laughs then disappears.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. I’m such a fucking idiot. I’m so stupid.” Miguel says to himself and I can’t help but give him a look of pity. Poor kid didn’t deserve any of this at all.

“Don’t beat yourself up. You were scammed.” Mom says. And I turn to look at her she’s crying. “I shouldn’t have listened to those people I shouldn’t have abandoned you. None of this would have happened if you grew up with a loving family.”

Miguel doesn’t look at Mom, but I know he knows Mom really means it.

“We’re really sorry kid,” Dad says to him.

“Yes, we’re sorry. And David we’re sorry for not telling you about all this. You deserved to know that you had a twin brother, but we thought that he had died so we didn’t think to tell you. For that, we are truly sorry.”

“It’s okay, guys I forgive you.”

“I forgive you too.” I hear Miguel mutter, but we all hear him just fine. “And I’m sorry for bringing you here and wanting to kill you.”

“It wasn’t your fault honey,” Mom says. “That demon got in your head. You didn’t deserve to be used like that. At all.”

“Mom, Dad how did you even get captured?”

“Well, when you called us saying that you wanted to come home, we got worried, and then you called to say you weren’t coming back, so we had to come to New York to see you because we knew something was wrong.”

“And when I sensed them, I kidnapped them,” Miguel says, letting out a loud, frustrated sigh and shaking his head. “I’m such an idiot.”

“Don’t beat yourself up, kid,” Dad says.

“Yeah, we’re going to get out of here one way or another,” I say. I just have to find a way to reach Max.

Maxwell

“Where did he go!?” I yell looking around me as if I’ll see him come out of the walls he was taken from.

“We don’t know. We opened the veil, and next thing… he was taken.” Mama Tife says.

“We’ll have to find him. I swear to God if something happens to David I will-”

“You have to calm down son,” Christopher says, placing his hand on my shoulder, and that somehow gives me a little bit of peace. But I’m not supposed to be calm I’m supposed to be furious right now because my mate just got taken away from me. How am I supposed to calm down when two maniacs have kidnapped my mate?

God only knows what they’re going to do to him.

“So you don’t know where we can look?” I ask the witches. Mama Tife shakes her head and Doctor Antoine looks away.

“He knew we were coming.” Mama Tife says. “Like I said, demons are tricky bastards.”

They are indeed.

“Uh, I can find him,” Destiny says coming out of the shadows. I've also been observing him, and it looks like he’s been contemplating something.

“How? You’re not a witch.” Doctor Antoine says but then realization dawns on him. “But you are a hybrid; you can use elbows to find him.”

Yeah, right, I totally forgot about that. I paste my eyes on Destiny and he’s nodding his head. That’s what he’s talking about.

“No, no, no, out of the question. My son’s not doing that.” Christopher snaps.

“Dad, please I can do this. Let me do this.” Destiny pleads with him.

“Son, I remember the last time you did that. It almost killed you.”

“That’s because I couldn’t control it and I had you to bring me out of it. I did it to find Sara.”

“You did what?”

“She was dying dad, I had to. And right now, David and his family are in danger, and I have to save them.”

Christopher shakes his head. He’s still not in agreement with all this.

“Dad I am not a little boy anymore!” Destiny yells, and that makes Christopher flinch, and he looks at his son with utter shock. “You have to trust me, Dad,” Destiny says in a sad tone this time and Chris just looks away but then looks back at his son. This dynamic kinda reminds me of me and my father.

I miss him so much. Destiny should be lucky to have a father who worries about him.

“Okay, fine. But don’t be long.”

“You’ll be here to pull me out.”

“Always.” they smile at each other. Destiny nods his head and gets into position. We all gather around him and we wait. Destiny’s eyes shoot up and his veins pop out. I’ve seen this happen before, which means he’s seen them.

Destiny begins to scream, blood rushes out of his eyes, ears and nose.

“What’s happening? What’s happening?” Christopher says, panicking, and we’re all panicking with him.

“Cousin?” Doug says, looking at him aghast; Felicity looks worried as well.

“Mama Tife you guys have to pull down another veil!” Destiny yells. “Pull down another-” he falls and we all run toward him. Luckily he’s still alive but he’s unconscious.
