Chapter One Hundred And Thirty One

Maxwell

They’re hiding at the firm. Of course, they are; I should have known Miguel would stoop so low as to go to the firm where he tricked me into keeping people hostage. He used the firm to pretend that he was actually selling perfumes with his best friend, Clara. Does Clara even exist, or is she a part of his wild schemes? Or is she also being held captive and forced to do Miguel’s bidding?

I don’t know, but I do know that all will be revealed when we get there and catch Miguel red-handed and free David’s parents.

Like I said, this is ending tonight. One way or another, this has to stop. I’m tired of hearing the word “revenge” and why people want to get revenge on the ones who didn’t do anything to them just because they’re related or associated with them. This isn’t fair.

I hope David can talk some sense into Miguel like he plans on doing because I’m not going to be having it if Miguel carries out his plan to cause havoc.

Who says I don’t want to get revenge myself? That bastard forced me to have sex with him. That’s technically rape; he mind-raped me. And I’m still pissed off about it. I may be pissed off but I’m not about to do anything rational. I’m going to be calm and collected about this. I’m not going to dive into anything until I’m ordered by David to do so. That’s all I’m going to do.

“Alright, now that we’ve established that he’s in Maxwell’s place of work let’s go. We have saving to do.” Mama Tife says. “Anyone come with a car?”

“Uh, yes? But I thought you two would use your powers, and we’d be transported there magically, and it would be quick.” I say, and the two powerful witches exchange looks at each other, and they burst out laughing.

I look at David and he and the rest are confused as hell.

“What’s funny?” asks Doug, Destiny’s cousin.

“We’re witches, not magicians. It’s not that easy to teleport. If we do that now, we might either end up in the white house, and that will be bad because Trump is going to hire a bunch of scientists to tie us up and do experiments on us.” Doctor Antoine says, shaking his head, and the thought makes me shiver.

That man should not find out that supes exist because he’s just going to treat us like less human. If he treats certain humans as less who’s to say he’s not going to do worse to supes?

“Okay, okay, I get it. Let’s get into the car and drive to the company.” I say, walking ahead, and everyone follows.

I just hope David’s parents are okay and we’re not too late.

David

We’re on our way to Max’s company and he’s not slowing down at all. He’s in super fast mode not caring if he hits anyone. He looks more serious than ever, and it feels like it’s his parents he’s going to go save. He’s not even scared that he’s going to be attracting the police.

“Alright! This is the type of action I love!” Doctor Antoine shouts acting like he’s entered an Avengers movie. Okay, that’s cool let him have his fun. He doesn’t have a parent who’s being held captive by their own son who they abandoned.

If my parents die I don’t know what I’m going to do. I might just end up dying with them because I don’t think I can live without them. They might have lied to me, but they’re still my parents, and I love them. I don’t think I can ever hate them even if they lie to me a lot. Sure, I will be angry but it will never lead to hatred.

Unfortunately, Miguel has gone straight to hatred and like I said I don’t blame him. He didn’t grow up with his parents because they were scared that he was going to grow evil and cause havoc everywhere.

The rage he feels knows no bounds. He’s more than pissed, he’s furious.

We’re here, and we immediately rush out of the car, and we stand in front of the building.

“They’re inside I can feel them.” Mama Tife says, and says, “Them” Does that mean my parents are still alive? Or maybe they’re dead and she can feel dead bodies. Or she’s talking about Dura and Miguel only and not my parents. Oh, jeez, I feel so afraid right now.

“This way!” Mama Tife yells. “Follow me.” and she runs ahead, we follow. A bunch of security guards try to stop us, but Max stops them, so we go through. We’re running in the dark building. We run as fast as we can, and at this rate,, I am positive that we’re going to get there and we’re going to save my parents.

At least while I run I pray to Goddess Bastet that my parents are okay. We don’t even take the elevator. We take the stairs, and we get to the upstairs building that I’ve never been into. We also rush straight into an empty room. A large room that’s meant to be some kind of office but is still under construction.

“They’re here.” Doctor Antoine confirms in a whisper. I look around, and it’s empty, but in the supernatural sense,e, they’re he, re, but they’re hiding. Can Miguel see us?

“Let us do this.” Mama Tife says and she and Doctor Antoine hold hands. Before they begin, Mama Tife snaps his fingers at Harper, willing her to come over.

“Me? Are you sure?”

“We need powerful witches to bring down the veil so yes.” Doctor Antoine says in a deadpan, and Harper enthusiastically joins them. She looks so happy, and so does Ryan; he looks proud of her. I hope he doesn’t cheat on her and he treats her like the fucking queen that she is.”

The three of them form a circle and they begin to cast the spell. I receive a touch on the shoulder and I turn to see that the person touching me is Christopher. The touch is telling me that everything is going to be alright. I hope so.

The trio aren’t forming a circle anymore, and this time, they’re tearing through something while still chanting a spell. An invisible force that’s keeping them from seeing inside. They drag and drag and drag the magical curtain, pulling it down. They stand there for a second and I watch their confused faces.

Next thing I know I hear someone yell my name. Someone places their hands on my face pulling me back. And the next thing I know I’m in another room. I shake my head, trying to get the hands that were placed on my face off, and I realize they’re not here anymore.

“David?”

“David!” I turn around at the familiar voices and I see my parents on the floor.

“Mom, Dad!” I run toward them, but then something stops me, and next thing, I’m being tied up, and I stand still without moving. Then I hear someone laughing and I know who that person is. I turn around, and there he is, wearing a dark suit and his hair all gelled up, slicked back, to be precise. I must say, he looks good.

My evil twin looking straight at me.

“Hello, brother.” He says, a smirk on his face. And right next to him is the demon Dura. He looks like he’s Miguel’s pet but it’s the other way around. Miguel is the pet and Dura is the one pulling all the strings. I feel so bad for him; he doesn’t deserve this, and none of us do.

“Miguel, please you don’t have to do this!” I say.

“Of course I do. All I have to do is tell Dura here to kill your parents, and he’ll be stronger than ever, and he’ll be taking over the world.”

“You’re really going to be allowing this monster to control you aren’t you?”

“SHUT UP!” He yells and his yelling makes the rope tighten. “He’s not controlling me, we’re partners,” he says.

“Oh, David, it will be easy if you just join us,” Dura says, and I look at the shadowy figure floating in the air next to Miguel.

“Yes, brother why not just join us? We can rule the world you and I as brothers.”

“I don’t want to rule the world I just want to make people happy by throwing parties and events for them. I don’t care about joining you. I just want to save my parents.”

“Why do you want to save them? Can’t you see, they’re evil? They abandoned me, and they’ve been lying to you your whole life.”

“Daniel please don’t do this.” Mom cries.

“For the last time, woman, it’s not Daniel. It’s Miguel!” He yells. “This is Daniel.” he points at Dura, and I know he’s pitch black right now, but it’s almost like I can see him smile.

“I’m Miguel. I’m not Daniel. But of course, I would have been Daniel if you didn’t throw me out of your lives like I were trash.

“You can’t blame us, Dan-Miguel. We thought you were going to kill us,” Dad says.

“And you listened to a bunch of conspiracy theorists and then you easily tossed me aside.” He scoffs and shakes his head. He wants to cry, but at the same time,, he doesn’t want to. That means he does have a heart, there’s a heart beating in there, a heart telling him he doesn’t have to do this.

“Well, I guess they were kinda right. I do want to kill you.” He says a smile replacing the sad expression he had on his face. “But do I want to kill you just because, or do I want to kill you because you abandoned me?” Mom and Dad don’t say anything; they’re speechless.

“And you.” He says looking at me. “Since you don’t want to join us why don’t you just die?” Something appears on his hand, and I look at it long enough to see what it is, and it’s a fucking golden sword.

“This is for you twin bro.”
