Chapter One Hundred And Twenty Eight
David
Max is fine, he’s alive, and he’s okay, and he knows where my parents are. He knows where Daniel is keeping them. I have a feeling that things are going to be alright, we’re going to be just fine, we’re going to win this war, I’m positive. If we just stick together and work as a team, then we’ll be victorious.
We need to end this bloodshed once and for all and give the families who have lost a loved one to Dura peace of mind and closure. Hopefully, we end this once and for all tonight so we can all get peace for once.
My parents, I hope he hasn’t done anything to them. He’s pissed off and angry that they got abandoned, but he needs to know that what they did,d, they did out of fe, ar, and they didn’t really mean it. I want to help him understand that, but first Max has to tell us where they are for us to get to them and stop Daniel from doing something he’s going to regret.
“They’re in this supernatural plain that no one can see or get into.” Max begins. We’re all seated in the living room as he explains where my parents are to us. I told him that he could have told us about this in his bedroom because I wanted him to get some rest, but he didn’t want that; he wanted to leave his bed, and he wanted to get into action as soon as possible.
That’s why he’s standing like a leader explaining where my parents and Daniel are.
“What do you mean?” Ryan asks him.
“It’s like a magical hideout where only the person who created the hideout can reveal it to whoever he wants to see it. For example, you walk into an abandoned building; you don’t see anything in the building because it’s abandoned; it’s empty. But that’s what the person who created the Illusion wants you to think. There are people in that building but you can’t see these people because they’re protected by magic.”
“Oh, like an astral plain that’s hidden from people.” Says Harper.
“Yes,” Max confirms.
“So how do we get into this astral plain where are they hiding?” I ask; I try hard not to be impatient because we’re headed toward the right track, but we have to understand that my parents are in the hands of that psychopath, and he knows that I didn’t want to bring them here.
But my question is, how was he able to get them here? He said he was bound to New York because a bunch of witches cursed him so how the fuck was he able to get my parents? Did he send Dura, or was he being stuck here a lie, and he knew how to get out all this while, and he just wanted me to lose my mind over this when he asked me to choose between Max and my parents?
Son of a bitch, he is a master manipulator. He was able to convince me that he wasn’t my twin by placing some kind of glamour spell on himself. When Max said he looked like me, I didn’t believe it because he had a spell on himself that was hiding his real face from me. I should have known.
He’s hell-bent on revenge that he doesn’t want to see that he’s going to fall with Dura. That was what happened to Dura when he was Daniel, blinded by anger and revenge that it led to his downfall, and I am afraid Daniel is going to go down that path. And I have a feeling that Dura is the one encouraging him to do all of this, that son of a bitch.
We have to destroy Dura and save Daniel.
“We need a witch to get there, a powerful witch,” Max says and then turns to Harper. “Do you know any powerful witches Harper, I mean you’re a talented witch you were chosen by the council to deal with supernaturals who involved themselves in human matters and you saved me and David on that roof from one of Michael’s goons but we-”
“Need a more skilled and powerful witch.” Harper finishes for him. “I get it, I understand, this kind of magic is too dark and powerful for me to tap into.”
“So what witch do we need? Bloom and her mom.”
“They’re powerful, but not them either,” Max says.
“I’m sorry, but how do you know about all this?” Destiny’s dad asks. “How do you know where David’s parents are and the fact that Daniel is hiding them from the world?”
That’s true, I should have asked him how the fuck he knew about all this. But I was so engrossed in the fact that he knew where my parents were, and I just wanted to save them.
“When I died, I went to the afterlife where I saw… I saw my parents,” he says, and I look at him with shocked eyes, and I hear Destiny make a sound. I whip my head to his dad and he looks more shocked than I am.
“You saw Dina and Adel?”
“Yes, and they said I should tell you that they love you, the both of you,” Max says to Destiny and his dad with a smile on his face. Tears appear on his face and fuck, I think that’s the same thing that’s about to happen to me. I want to start crying; it’s coming, it’s fucking coming, I know.
Max turns to me. “Elijah said I should tell you that he’s happy that you forgive him,” he says and if I thought him seeing his parents was shocking seeing Elijah has left me in awe. But why am I surprised? These were good people. They deserve all the peace that they have, they surely deserve to be happy forever.
“Oh my God Max. Why didn’t you say that before?” I ask him in a smooth voice as tears roll down my eyes.
“I wanted to get straight to saving your parents because I know we don’t have time,” he says and I can’t help but think about how thoughtful he is which makes him even sexier and I feel like jumping on him and fucking him right here and now but I have to calm down because now is not the time to be thinking about sex.
“Did you see anyone else? Like George, the alpha of the werewolf pack?” I ask him and he shakes his head.
“No, but I’m sure that he was there,” he says. “I wanted to tell you guys after we rescued David’s parents,” he says then stops to turn around, as if he’s looking for someone. “By the way where’s Jeremy?”
“He’s with Sara.” Says Destiny. “We told her what happened to you, and she wanted to leave the institute to come be with you, but the doctor advised against it, and we knew you’d be angry if we allowed her to leave that place. Jeremy decided to stay with her be her outside ear. Anything that happens here I text it to Jeremy. I just texted him telling him that you’re awake.
Max nods.
“Good good.” he really wants to see his sister recover. We all want to see her recover. She’s stronger than any drug, I know it; it’s Sara. From the first time I met her, I knew she was a strong, badass woman who could overcome anything. Fuck Michael for destroying her confidence and self-esteem. I hope he’s burning in hell.
Just when I’m about to ask what witch is going to help us take off the secret duvet that’s helping Daniel hide my parents and himself I’m interrupted by Harper.
“I think I know the witch that can help us.” She says with a bright smile on her face. Ryan faces her and he looks just as confused as we do.
“Who?” Ryan and I ask in unison.
“Mama Tife,” she says in a low voice, and she shrinks and cowers before Ryan, who looks at her like she’s just said something stupid, trust I’m looking at her the same way.
“Mama Tife!?” I exclaim. “Really Harper?”
“Wait, whose Mama Tife?” Max asks
“A powerful Nigerian witch Ryan went to go look for to help get answers as to who Dura really is,” I say and Ryan looks at me. I don’t know if I should say the part where he sold his soul to get the answer.
“I sold my soul to her in exchange for that.”
“What?” Destiny and Felicity yell at the same time.
“But she’s very useful,” Harper says. And I’m confused. Has she forgotten the part where Ryan had to give her something for her to help?
“Won’t we be selling our souls too?” Destiny’s father asks.
“No, she asks for different things. If what she asks of us is too bizarre then we won’t go through with it. But-”
“I want to do it,” I say. And Max Turns to me.
“David, what are you saying.”
“I’m saying I want to do it. My parents are in danger, Max, and I want to save them. I will do anything to save them, even if it means selling my soul to her. I don’t care but I want to save my parents.” I say to him, and we just stare at each other; there’s concern written all over his face, but it relaxes.
“I’m with you, whatever decision you make,” he says, and a smile creeps up on my face, which makes him smile as well. He looks even more handsome when he smiles.
“I’m in too,” Ryan says. “I’m ready to sell my soul twice.” He says, shrugging, and then Harper places a hand on his shoulder, and they both stare at each other. I still can’t wrap my head around this pairing. Honestly, I’m still so fucking confused.
“We’re here for you David,” Destiny says, and his dad nods his head, agreeing with him. I see that everyone is ready to confront this powerful African witch, and I feel so supported. I know if Jeremy and Elijah were here they would have
done this for me too.
“Okay, then. Let’s go pay Mama Tife a visit shall we?” Max says.
