Chapter One Hundred And Twenty Seven

Sara

I don’t think I can ever calm down or even sleep tonight after finding out that my brother is going to die and his mate is going to try to bring him back to life and they’re going to be stopping this Dura demon once and for all tonight.

And the thing is I’m not just scared for Max and Max only. I’m scared for everyone that’s going to be involved in this, especially Destiny because I don’t want to lose him; I just got him and losing him would make me super, super sad. Like, really sad, they’re going to have to bring me back here if I do come out because by then, I’ll be looking for those cursed drugs.

I’m pacing around my room. I didn’t even eat; all I put in my mouth was an apple, and I didn’t even finish it because I was filled with worry. Honestly, I’m supposed to be out there helping, not in here sulking. This doesn’t make any sense.

“Fuck” I shout. But then I remember that I’ll be attracting nurses in here if I just shout a little louder. Great, good job Sara.

But what do they expect me to do? I can’t just stay here; I really can’t. This doesn’t make an ounce of sense.

I stop pacing when my door opens up, and I expect it to be the nurse, but it isn’t; it’s Jeremy.

“Hey,” he says. “Are you okay?”

“Of course, I’m not okay.” I snap even though I didn’t mean to but I don’t apologize. “What? Did you hear me scream?”

“Uh, no. I had a feeling that you felt distressed so I got here as soon as possible.”

I look at him with a raised brow. “You had a feeling,” I say. And he nods his head.

“I can’t explain it. I just knew you weren’t calm, so I just had the urge to come see how you were doing,” he says, playing with the zipper of his jacket. I stare at him for a long time, and then I just sit on the bed, and I place my hands on my face.

“I’m so scared Jeremy.” I finally say. I don’t usually admit when I’m scared about a particular thing I just keep it to myself. But this kind of fear I can’t keep to myself. I just can’t do it.

“My parents are dead I don’t want to lose my brothers too.” I cry. “I’m just so sick and tired of all this, can’t we catch a break? I feel so fucking alone right now.”

“Hey, hey. You are not alone.” he sits next to me and wraps his hand around me and I just cry into his arms. “You’ve got me now and I bet you nothing is going to happen to your brothers,” I affirm.

“And besides, Max and Destiny as strong men. They’re not going to let some demon school them.”

I sniff and then It’s just quiet. I stay locked in Jeremy’s arms but then I can’t help but want to ask the burning question that’s been in my mind.

I raise my head from his body and I look straight into his eyes. Which is a beautiful sky blue, by the way. Jeremy is extremely handsome when he’s not drunk and is thrown out of a bar.

“Why did you decide to stay for me?” I ask him and then he shrugs.

“Because you helped me get back home when I was flat-out drunk, and you went all Snow White in my house.” He chuckles and I giggle. “I’m really grateful for that. And I thought, why not return the favour.”

I stare at him; he’s being truthful, and he has no ulterior motives. He’s doing this because he wants to. He’s doing this because I performed a good deed back on him and my good deed is being reflected back on me.

“Oh and besides, when I told you that that of the ingredients of that drug was werewolf’s blood. I want you to know that I wasn’t mad at you. I was more mad at the person who gave it to you.” he says and that fills me with so much joy.

“You weren’t mad at me.”

“No, no Sara.” he adjusts himself to look at me. “You were being scammed. Of course,, I wasn’t angry with you. That wouldn’t be fair.” he says, and I nod my head, happy to get the confirmation that he didn’t want to eat me alive then and there.

“And besides. Why would I ever be angry with a cute girl like you?” he smirks and then I begin to blush. Because I’m a fool, what the fuck am I even doing? I never used to blush at every minor convenience but here I am, doing so. Fuck, am I smitten… wait for Jeremy.

Well, he does have beautiful eyes, he’s funny, and he is tall and handsome and he is nothing like Michael.

And also, he has nice lips. Lips that I immediately stick mine with. Even though I expected him to pull back, I still went for the kill, and the thing is… he’s not pulling back. In fact, he’s kissing me back. Our lips meet like they’ve been longing to meet each other for a long time. And our kiss gets deeper and deeper, now there’s tongue involved and now his hair is on the back of my head.

Holy shit, I’m kissing a werewolf. I never thought I’d be kissing a werewolf but here I am, kissing a fucking werewolf.

Someone’s phone chimes in, and it makes us stop kissing immediately. We’re panting like two dogs who went for a run. Oh fuck, that kiss was good, though.

Turns out Jeremy’s phone is what made that sound. He opens the phone to look at the message that was sent to him. He looks so serious as the light on the phone reflects on his face.

“Oh my God.”

“What? What’s wrong?” I ask, already in panic mode, I expect to hear bad news, but then I see there’s a smile on Jeremy’s face. He looks away from the screen and looks at me.

“It’s Max.” He says. “David did it. David brought him back to life.”

I let out a sigh of relief, and I place my hand on my chest. Ahh, thank you, Goddess Bastet, oh, thank you.

Because I’m filled with so much happiness I grab Jeremy by the face and I picked up where we left off. We’re kissing each other with a lot more passion now.

I never thought kissing a werewolf would be this good. But I prefer kissing a werewolf to a psychopathic witch with mommy issues any time.
