Chapter 9
Chapter 9
“Deleon.”
“Yes, Godfather Bloody?”
“Take bunny here inside, make sure she sleeps in the most comfortable bed we have. She must not be awakened or disturbed while she sleeps. If she should wake up give her something to consume, the meal must be prepared by a Michelin-starred chef. Do you understand, Deleon?”
“Yes, sir.”
“You may go,” Bloody watched with sharp eyes as Ava was escorted into the three floorage mansion by four men. The moment she left his sight he turned and strutted across the wide front yard to his men waiting, all of them leaning against sports cars straightened when he arrived.
“Where's Renzo?”
“Aye,” the man walked around a vehicle.
“What's the issue at hand,” Bloody's dark eyes glanced at Trévon for a report.
“Capo, there's a group of werewolf bikers harbouring at a bar downtown. But that ain't the problem, the real deal is that these mutts are always scuffling and creating a ruckus. They're a disturbance boss, the old folks called us for assistance in removing them,” Trévon explained to his Don. “According to the couple they're there right now.”
“I need a name.”
“They call themselves the Ravenwood MC.”
“Alright. Let's roll boys,” he and the others entered cars as black as the night sky with guns fully loaded. This is Arthewood Meadows, an upscale community that rules and operates small businesses. As Don, he is respected and feared by all community dwellers. But he also protects them, hence it is his job to take care of pests known as werewolves who always cause issues for the residents. Werewolves are four-legged beasts that should've gone extinct centuries ago. They resemble normal wolves but are much bigger, equipped with jaws that produce fatal bites, heightened senses and movements too fast for the human eye to notice.
These predators are known to come out mostly at night to flood this City for various reasons–often they are in search of someone, but it doesn't make things any less irritable. The thing is that they don't leave Imperial City until they've gotten what they came for, while they stay they become a pain in the ass for the people minding their business.
Now, these creatures have invaded the peaceful community he resides in and they're annoying his people. This needs to end and it will end now.
Together, the Don of the Onyx King Brotherhood and his men left the property and made the winding journey to the place where the problem stems. The fast cars along with the smooth traffic-free road made them arrive in less than fifteen minutes.
Bloody checked to see if everyone had their guns loaded with silver bullets, when it was confirmed that they were all set he made his way bravely into the bar the wolves are said to be at. Sure enough, a group of men in their black cuts and gloves were comfortably seated inside. Their bikes were parked neatly outside on either side of the staircase leading into the place for adults.
The man's arrival had caught their attention, they turned to stare at him disdainfully up and down. Some even growled in his direction. Still, Bloody wasn't fazed by a gang of overgrown unhinged Pitbulls wearing leather jackets and ripped jeans. He walked across the room, head held high, pride in each step and intimidation emitting from him in the form of wicked radiation. All the MC members saw this, they became alerted by this mysterious man that doesn't cower at the sight of them.
Instead, the man mocks them by smugly smiling.
“Man, I seriously hate dogs,” Keagan said loud enough for everyone to hear. That five-word comment triggered the supernatural beings so much that they got up to snarl at the gang. In retaliation, the men drew their tools but the Godfather signalled them with a glare to stand down.
Bloody reached the counter where the bartender wiped out a shot glass. “I've arrived. Now, where is the leader of this cult?”
“It's called a Pack,” a masculine voice said from the east of Bloody and subsequently growled.
Unmoved by whoever possessed that voice, he turned to throw an apathetic glance at where the sound came from.
The man seated in one of the black iron chairs leaned against the wall, dropped it on its four legs and rose to stare at Bloody indifferently. Matching the look in the man's blue eyes.
They faced each other, surprisingly at the same height.
“How splendid. So you are the leader of this clan of recalcitrant adults terrorising the people of Arthewood?” he got straight to the point, “Well, I will make myself as clear as possible, take your problematic dogs, put them on leashes and leave.”
“What the hell did you just say to me?” the Alpha did not take that very well. Bloody stared into his hematite-grey eyes as the man moved closer to the point where their faces were inches apart. He watched the man roll his broad shoulders back, his prominent collar bones pushed up from the black V neck. Falling over them is a Cuban link shinier than his corneas.
A different colour briefly flashed across his eyes, canines protruded past his lips as another sound of terror rumbled in his throat. “We didn't come here to cause trouble, there are two sides to every story and you've only heard that of the humans,” his pack became aggravated due to the blatant disrespect, they jumped on tables and waited for their Alpha to say the words so they could tear the men to shreds.
“I do not care about what you have to say asshole, pack your shit and leave. Immediately would be very nice, thank you,” Bloody smiled politely. “We don't want trouble either, Alpha Nox.”
“How did you–” something dawned on him, “Right. You're Godfather Bloody. I'll let it slip, this once. Now, where's the girl? Have you found her yet? Is she alive or dead?”
“Why do you want her?”
“None of your business.”
“I am afraid I cannot help you then.”
“Don't you dare,” Nox snapped. Two caramel-skinned hefty men from his pack covered in battle scars came to a halt by his sides, arms folded and eyes half closed. “I came here for one reason and it was to find you. Where is she?”
“I have not found her yet.”
“Bullshit.”
“I never tell lies.”
“But you are now.”
“How did you know I live around these parts? Should I be concerned, Mr Alpha?” he said with a sarcastic lilt. “Where'd you find these men? Let me guess, in dumpsters then bathe them in bleach to remove soils? Should've used acid, it would've done a better job.”
The giants attacked Bloody but he evaded them with chuckles. “You and your clan don't scare me. Tell me why you need her and I promise to speed the process up. I never break a promise.”
“...fine,” Nox stared into the eyes of a green-eyed male across the room and all of a sudden he began ordering the guys around. In the end, Bloody's men were on one side of the bar while Nox's men stayed on the other. Afterwards, he and Bloody went outside to further discuss things.
···
It was an empty parking lot outside, the sun above was obscured by the gathering rain clouds and the trees formed a barrier around the endless line of buildings. There was a fence behind a grey honda–it is the only vehicle parked out here and three dumpsters overflowing with garbage way over the left of Bloody who is staring at Nox. He stared at the man and felt mixed emotions, there was excitement, impatience, and fury. He couldn't pinpoint on a dashboard why he was feeling this way about Alpha Nox, there was also something else, it thrills him to insult the male.
𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒆́ 𝒔𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐 𝒂 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐?
Nox turned to look at Bloody. If he can't say anything about him, he can say he is one studmuffin. They're the same height, Bloody is six feet five inches, and of course, Nox is too. The man had chestnut skin and rich black hair coiffed at the top into a pompous greasy combover with a side part, his eyes were dark grey and appeared soulless–mimicking Don's blue eyes. Bloody was sure this man was contemplating ways to murder him for the snarky remarks. Shifting his gaze from Nox's gemstone-like eyes he stared at his physique, he was more buff with not a single ounce of fat on his body. Pure muscle.
His sinewy arms were a tad too big for the shirt and motorcycle club jacket he was dressed in, not to talk about his calves and strong thighs straining against the fabric of his jeans. A swoon-worthy man he was.
Not that he was bad, he was comparable. They sort of evened out. And that was very creepy. Bloody also saw two beauty spots on his neck, the same place where he was located. They both also have thin brows. A coincidence, maybe?
“I need to find her because she killed my son,” Nox dropped the bombshell. “My son turned twenty that day and she was the last person to see him alive, his blood stained her belongings. She killed my son, therefore she must pay for what she did,” his eyes softened then he went silent. He took a deep gulp and closed his eyes, when they reopened they changed colour before his eyes, it was a whirlpool transition–grey to blood red evanescently.
“My son did nothing. He was on his way home from school when she attacked him, the only thing I found left was one of his arms, an eyeball and his heart,” Nox stalked towards Bloody. His strides slow and steady, eyes never straying from him. “I need to know why she killed my son. I want my revenge. I want her–”
“𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒅. You want her dead,” so it was confirmed, Nox wants Avalyn dead. He wants his bunny dead. “How do you know she killed your kid?”
“Look here you blue-eyed serial killer,” Nox grabbed Bloody by his collar and hauled him forward without breaking a sweat. “Find her. Cut the questions out. Just...just find her for me. I will give you any amount of money you want.”
𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐 𝒂𝒎𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖.
“Release my clothing,” he ordered calmly. They exchanged scowls before Nox let Bloody go. “I will find her, now leave Arthewood Meadows and 𝒅𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕 return. Your kind is not welcome in my community.”
“If you don't keep your end of the deal I'll make sure not even Satan welcomes you in hell. Bloody,” Nox spat next to the man's high-end shoes then sauntered with a sway back inside.
𝑯𝒆'𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔. Bloody doesn't believe Avalyn is capable of committing an act so gruesome, she wouldn't hurt a fly. 𝑩𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒅. Bloody was now in a dilemma, he was being paid a lot to find someone, but that someone is a woman he refuses to let go of for reasons he won't tell. He remembered the man's words about everything having two sides to a story, now, he needs to hear her side.
But whether or not he did, Bloody doesn't plan on letting that mutt have her. He's not killing Avalyn.
And another thing, why the hell do they look so similar? Why didn't he, an Alpha, a reputable type of anomaly known to be unbearably aggressive, do something when he spoke so impolitely?
Something is going on here and Bloody does not like it.
