Chapter 24
Chapter 24
The car she was in moved around for what must've been a whole day. The trunk was starting to smell as the dead bodies began to decay–this had her wondering how long the bodies were stored there. After a while the car came to a lengthy stop, someone opened the trunk and unloaded the corpses. Two sets of hands held her body and lead her somewhere, she was then reared back and thrown into a ditch on top of multiple other dead bodies.
She waited until the engine started again before escaping.
Ava, with the knife she stole, cut the bag open and was greeted with the putrid smell of rotten flesh. It was sickening. She screamed when her green eyes caught sight of all the dead bodies, some with little to no flesh on them, some only bones in clothes, and the others being feasted on by rats and crows. It was such a horrid scene she puked her guts out and stood on top of the freshly dumped bodies. She had to get the hell outta there.
Wherever there was.
As the fetid smell stifled her and the animals around enjoyed their buffet Ava got an idea. A disgusting but necessary one, she walked over to one part of the circular hole in the earth and piled dead bodies there, then she sank her nails in the dirt walls and climbed her way out of there. She nearly fell back but held the sharp grass tightly and successfully left the hole completely.
She was in a... Graveyard? An abandoned one. The tombstones were all worn out and with moss covering them. Ava didn't care, she picked one direction and took off running. For hours it was nothing but her, miry roads, mosquitoes, and the merciless sun.
They drove her to the outskirts of Imperial City.
It was midday now, and by the next morning came she was tired, hungry, weak, and in need of a shower. But she was also back in the inner city.
A middle-aged man found her wandering the alleys and took her home. She took a hot shower and ate the meal he provided like a beast. Ava also had to wear his daughter's old clothes. The man later turned out to be a pervert so she knocked him out and took all of his money then left, she needed to go find Starlette. She's certain Bloody's men are searching high and low for her, she wouldn't be surprised if they were looking in the deepest parts of hell. Bloody must be furious.
Ava felt guilty and bad for leaving Bloody, he never once hurt her he took care of her. And then there's Nox, a man she has an unknown deep connection with, they had only met once and frankly too briefly. But she has to leave Sin City. Nox and Bloody are rich and powerful men, she's sure they'd just find a replacement as quickly as possible. But the thought of another woman getting all of their attention and affection made her heart tighten, another woman shouldn't be doted on the way she has, only she must get their undivided attention! Ava held her forehead wondering what is she thinking, a migraine was beginning to settle and give her a hell of a time.
She looked at her surroundings and realized it was a familiar street.
The ginger-haired green-eyed Goddess sighed with great relief and waited to walk on the pedestrian crossing to the other side, however, before she took the first step a hand coyly moved before her eyes. It took her a while to register what was happening but it was too late, the hand covered her mouth and pulled her back with brute force. A weird smell engulfed her and Ava felt lightheaded, the passersby saw her being abducted but couldn't say anything as whoever–or whatever–had her in their impossibly strong grasp turned, took her in their arms, and sprinted down the road she just came with inhuman speed.
The last thing Ava remembered before passing out was the ambrosial, fruity smell of Raspberries and Wine...

Somewhere in an Abandoned Warehouse.
“I surely wouldn't want to be that table,” Farlan, the man with a hook for a hand, said. He shook his head with a tsk. “That boy looks like he'd murder a whole army of soldiers with how angry he looks.”
“No shit,” Aleksei downed a can of beer.
Bloody picked up a chair and sent it flying across the room and through a broken window. The soldiers standing around avoided all contact with the youngest of the Eight Elite Dons of the Onyx Kings Brotherhood Mafia organization. His eyes were bloodshot and veins pulsed on his forehead, his nostrils flared and his knuckles were bleeding. A few feet away in the corner tied to a chair was a common thief who stole a pack of cigarettes from Bloody, now he sat there on the verge of death with his face beaten beyond recognition and bones broken beyond repair. He was the unlucky bearer of Bloody's rage.
The perfect example of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
“He should calm down,” the Chinese lady said and the others agreed.
“It...” Bloody calmed down enough to start talking, “has been days since my bunny has been missing. There has been no progress of somewhat and you all want me to calm down?” he addressed his seniors.
“Donatello, destroying everything in sight will not make things any easier,” Misha serenely propped his elbow on Farlan's shoulder. “We have the best trackers in Imperial City, we are doing everything we can to find her. Be. Patient.”
Bloody, with tightly balled fists dripping with blood, turned to shoot Misha the darkest and most psychotic look he could conjure. He squinted his eyes and clenched his jaws so hard it was a shock they didn't break off. “I do not have patience, Mikhael.”
“Nor do you have self-control, remind me why he is one of us again?” the good-looking forty-year-old raised a brow quizzically. “A true Don–” one foot of a metal chair flew past his head grazing his ear lightly. Mikhael looked behind him at the metal stuck in the wall then touched his bleeding ear, a wave of anger crashed inside him and he rose to take on Bloody but the man was already darkly looming over him.
“I... Am here, because my father is the owner and creator of this organization. I am the heir, I own this, and you all,” he stuck out his index and pointed at each person with a vicious look. “are mere members. You don't make the decisions or give orders, that's my job, the only thing you sick fucks can do is give opinions. And you,” he directed his hellish gaze to Misha, “don't pass your place with me.”
“You are completely out of control–” he made to get up but Bloody slammed him back into the chair by the shoulder.
“Sit the fuck down, you don't move your ass until I say so. I run this shit and not you, remember that,” he asserted dominance over the man easily, “And don't talk about what a Godfather should and shouldn't do. Rule no. 25 and no. 26 of the Mafia Commandments state one should not rape, or abuse his or her spouse, you did both. And on top of that, you raped your mother while she was pregnant with your sister. When I'm around you don't talk unless I say you should, copy that? And put some respect on my goddamn name,” Bloody spat between Misha's feet and walked off exuding a frigid and indifferent aura.
It was one thing when Bloody was openly expressing his anger, but when he goes silent that's when one should fear for their life. As the man walked to a window at the left of the room Misha sank in his chair, everyone was staring at him.
After the showdown between Misha and Bloody no one dared to even breathe too loudly.
“Now that I have your attention,” he looked back slightly, hands behind him, “I know Nox has something to do with the disappearance of my precious, beautiful bunny. Y'know, I was planning a romantic date for us.”
“Bloody,” Giovanetti spun a knife on his fingers, his locks were hooked behind his ear to reveal an eye patch. “why do you think Nox has a hand in her disappearance? Don't ya think maybe, she just left on her own?”
It was heart-racing silence as they await his answer.
He scoffed. “Bullshit, I treated her like a princess and provided her with everything. I never harmed her and took good care of my bunny. Why would she willingly run off?”
“Because–”
“Shut the fuck up if you don't have anything meaningful to say.”
Giovanetti glared at Donatello, his insolence was pissing him off. “What an arrogant man.”
“Shh, if he hears you'll end like Peter in the corner,” the Arabian beauty hinted to the man in the chair slowly bleeding to death.
Bloody thought of Avalyn, and then thought of his deceased lovers, he felt suffocated thinking of what might happen to her. It was as though a hand tore through his chest and was clamping down on his heart. It hurt, like hell, he can't lose her too. “Renzo,” he called and his second-in-command walked forward, “I want all the people on guard that night replaced and disposed of immediately. Nox must've sent his goons here and because my men were too fucking lousy they infiltrated my mansion and took my woman.”
“Y-yes boss!” none of the guards he was referring to was present but by ‘dispose’ Renzo knew what he would have to do.
“So... What now?” Aleksei boredly asked.
“We go with Yuri's suggestion, fighting fire with fire, supernatural with supernatural,” Bloody took a knife from his long black leather jacket, it had a ruby at the end. Avalyn loved that knife. “Get Drago and his clan of walking dead humans on the phone, now,” he twirled the knife then stabbed Peter–who was still fighting to stay alive–in the forehead, it was so deep his skull touched the handle. That instantly put the man out of his misery.
Bloody removed the knife and let the dead man fall on his side and continue to bleed out. He walked outside and took the phone with Drago on the line.
“It has been years, Donatello, how have you been?” a raspy, sarcastic voice was on the other end.
“I have a job for you, Drago, there are some mutts I need you to exterminate ASAP.”
“I always get fun jobs. Get me the location and consider it done, boss.”
