Chapter 23

Chapter 23
One week later.
····

It's been days since that night, Bloody hasn't heard a single thing about werewolves in Imperial [Sin] City since then. He should be happy.

But he's not.

A great Godfather knows that where silence prowls danger lurks. Imperial City only goes this quiet when clouds of disaster and carnage are about to burst. He knows that Alpha hasn't given up, he knows he's planning something. Bloody is worried–despite being an anonymous Werewolf Hunter for years he is yet to learn much about this specific breed of shape-shifters. What he does know is that fucking with them will cost you dearly, whether it be your life or your entire family.

Werewolves don't play by the rules and they show no mercy–he experienced this firsthand.

“It is time to call for the big boys,” it was somewhere after three a.m. but when he made a call whoever was on the other end picked up almost instantaneously. “Tell them I need them.”

“Say no more.”

By evening when the sky has turned reddish-orange and the various birds were retreating to their nests' several black vehicles drove onto his compound. From the wrap-around balcony on the first floor, he watched the entourages step out fully armed in suits that made them appear as soldiers from a secret organization. They scrambled across the yard to line up and hold their guns in their left hands while their right-hand rests on their hearts. From four separate vehicles, doors were opened by chauffeurs, and out came glamorous women and sophisticated men.

The Onyx Kings Brotherhood was a much larger organization than many thought.

“Misha? Is that you?” one man with a Cuban Cigarette hanging off his lip grinned sinisterly and walked to another. They exchanged a few words with each other, then the others, before all went inside Bloody's grand mansion and into the meeting place he had prepared beforehand.

By the time everyone settled it was nighttime.

“Alright, Donatello, what could be the problem? It must be serious for you to have summoned us, you know we are busy men and women,” Aleksei Alexandrovich Sergeyev, a man who can wipe out entire cities with the snap of a finger was the first to speak.

“Who, Donatello? Of course, it is serious. We all know this bastard doesn't acknowledge us unless he needs our help with something,” a stunning Japanese woman known in the streets as the Queen of Misfortune ran her fair-skinned hand through her wavy brown hair.

Bloody smiled kindly, “I am sure you all know I wouldn't have bothered you if it wasn't serious,” his American accent was discarded so he could take on his natural honey-coated Italian one. “I may or may not have gotten myself in trouble with werewolves...”

They groaned in sync.

“What did you do now, Donatello Rossetti?” Giovanetti Romano, a man famous for how he makes people disappear without a trace, asked. One diamond blue eye twinkled in the pale moonlight coming through the small window. “You sure love getting in trouble, my friend.”

“The Red Skye MC, formerly known as the Ravenwood MC, ran by an Alpha, does the name ring any bells?”

Their smiles fell.

“You and Alpha Nox have bad blood? Well fuck me with a pickaxe,” a man with a hook for a hand scratched his eyebrow. “How in the name of Hell did you and Nox develop problems?”

“Better question, why?” a Chinese woman who was a lieutenant in the military and can identify every gun known to man asked.

He explained his reasons and no one was surprised. Bloody had gone on a killing spree when his ex-wives died. As the youngest high-ranking leader of the Mafia group, he is always in some sort of trouble.

“So what do you want us to do?” Misha, a used-to-be scientist and now multi-billionaire asked.

“I need more men and resources,” Bloody walked around the rectangular rosewood table. “I am certain Nox is recruiting all the creatures of the night he can and we are mere humans compared to them who are immortal.”

“Do you have a plan, habibi?” an Arabic woman wearing an authentic Tiger fur coat and lion teeth necklace pursed her lips. She is a world-wide famous model but one of the most sadistic women known to mankind.

“No, not really,” Bloody sighed and stopped by her chair. She smiled and kissed his knuckles.

“I do,” the Japanese woman sat up in her red latex dress exposing her curves. “You say they are werewolves and are rounding up an army of their kind. Well, what do you do?” she smiled like the heinous serial killer she is, “You fight supernatural with supernatural.”

All the board members smiled in agreement.

“I like the sound of that,” Giovanetti leaned back in his chair.

Bloody smiled contently. By midnight should roll around the meeting ended with a great solution and highly respected men and women left to carry on with their lives.

He couldn't help but chuckle as he sat in the empty, cold dark room alone. “He won't even know–” a slicing pain cut through both of his eyes but vanished as soon as it arrived. “What the...” Bloody felt a liquid drip on his face, he touched the liquid and realized it was blood.

Shocked but not panicked he got up to check the mirror. His eyes had changed color. Once blue, now a dark and terrifying shade of red. Before he could make sense of anything he fainted.

The man awoke in his bedroom with the windows locked and curtains drawn. Memories of last night quickly came back to him and he frowned. The last time his eyes changed to that twisted color he massacred a whole church, and that was at the age of eighteen. Bloody realized a pattern, whenever his eyes turned that way and stayed for more than a day an insatiable desire to kill overtook his body. It was as if he was possessed when it happened, and luckily, this time his eyes only bled.

Just to be sure, he tossed the sheets aside and walked to the mirror ignoring his morning wood.

Thankfully, they were back to their original color.

‘At least it wasn't black,’ when his eyes turned black he would fall unconscious for long periods. And when he woke up he doesn't know or remember what happened during that time frame.

But when his men told him what happened, it was always never something good.

“I'm thirty-five for fuck's sake why's this still happening? It's been twenty years already!” frustrated with not knowing why he has this weird thing he knocked off everything on the dresser and scowled at himself. His black hair and light brown ends were wavy and hung over his forehead, as messy as one can imagine, his blue eyes looked dark and evil and his brows sunk–which wrinkled his forehead.

Bloody laughed at himself and pulled his hand through his hair, he smirked at his reflection.

“I wonder what bunny is doing. Hmm, I am going to have a romantic dinner with her tonight, right here in our home,” Bloody took a quick shower, made sure his teeth were brushed, and dressed nicely. “Bunny likes my smell, a mixture of saffron and something slightly metallic, but also has lavender. This cologne,” he picked up a blue square bottle and drowned himself in cologne.

Bloody gelled his hair down neatly and used a razor blade to sharpen the two slits on his left brow, not feeling very satisfied he made two slits on the other brow and was appeased with the result. He double-checked his appearance and left the room to find his lovely darling.

Except he didn't.

Avalyn was nowhere in the mansion.

“Renzo!” he was livid and ready to burn every living person in the mansion alive. “Where is she? Where is Avalyn Monroe?” he grabbed him by the collar.

“Capo! We're looking for her! Calm down, I'm sure she's around here somewhere. She's just playing a game to get on your bad side,” Lorenzo hoped, he also didn't want Ava gone because only she knew where his ex-wife and son were staying.

But she was not there.

Avalyn Monroe was nowhere to be found.

~Flashback~

Last night when the powerful Onyx Kings' high-rank members visited the baby of the group, Avalyn saw everything from her bedroom window. She eyed the multiple cars parked on the ground and wished she could be down there with them. The need to escape weighed heavy on her chest, and before she could make a better judgment her legs carried her to a drawer containing hairpins.

‘Haha, never leave a stripper alone with hairpins and locked doors,’ Ava skilfully unlocked the door Bloody had ordered to remain closed. She stealthily walked through the halls, ducking into a random room when a godfella walked by and hiding behind walls when she spotted maids. She has been here for what she can assume is close to a month, she didn't get out much but she knows where things are kept.

Firstly, she needs to get outside. That was easy.

Ava strangled one guard at the exit with a blender wire and shot the other with the gun he had which luckily had a silencer. She quickly ran into the thickets lining the tall walls wrapping around the mansion, Ava made her way to the men in black successfully without being discovered. She studied the men patrolling for an hour before taking a chance and diving into the bushes nearby, men saw movement and checked but she remained still and hid from their eyes. For half an hour more she remained there then made a move toward the pillars that were on either end of the cobblestone path leading into the yard.

Avalyn again carefully and slowly monitored the men, and somehow, because God was on her side tonight, she ran towards one of the cars, opened the trunk, and settled in. Someone of course heard something but she squeezed inside a body bag and pretended to be dead, like the other three bodies in the trunk. She went undiscovered. Tears came out. Finally, she was free.

When the people came out she was driven away without anyone realizing it.

But Ava wasn't as slick as she thought she was...
