Chapter 238 Chapter 238

Two days later, Savannah was finally discharged from the hospital. Her hand was still bandaged, and Adrian’s shoulder had a light dressing, but both of them were just grateful to be alive.

When they got home, Liam came running toward them the moment they stepped inside. “Mommy! Daddy!” he shouted happily. He hugged Savannah’s legs tightly. “I missed you so much!”

Savannah smiled weakly, tears of joy filling her eyes. “I missed you too, baby.”

Adrian lifted Liam into his arms and kissed his cheek. “Our little man has been so strong,” he said softly. “You made Mommy proud.”

Aunty Lisa came out from the kitchen, wiping her hands on her apron. The moment she saw Savannah, she broke into tears. “Oh thank God you’re back safe, my child!” she cried, hugging her tightly.

Savannah smiled and held her close. “I’m fine now, Aunty Lisa. Everything is over.”

Aunty Lisa nodded and looked at Adrian. “Thank you, my son. You did well. You protected her just like I prayed.”

Adrian smiled gently. “She’s my world, ma. I can’t lose her.”

Later that evening
The family gathered in the living room. Liam sat between his parents, showing them the drawing he made. It was a picture of the three of them holding hands under the sun.

Savannah smiled and kissed his forehead. “It’s beautiful, baby.”

Liam beamed proudly. “That’s you, Mommy. And Daddy. And me! We’re happy again!”

Adrian chuckled softly. “Yes, we are. And we’ll stay that way forever.”

The moment felt warm — soft lights, the smell of food from the kitchen, laughter echoing through the house. It was the peace they had been waiting for after so many storms.

Savannah leaned against Adrian’s shoulder. “You kept your promise,” she said quietly.

He turned and kissed her hair. “I told you I wouldn’t let anything happen to you.”

She smiled faintly. “I love you.”

“I love you more,” he replied.

Aunty Lisa peeked from the dining area, smiling as she watched them. For the first time in a long while, the house felt like a real home — full of peace and laughter.

Later that night
Savannah stood by the window, looking out at the stars. The night sky was clear and calm. Adrian came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

“What are you thinking about?” he whispered.

She smiled softly. “Just how lucky I am to have you and Liam. After everything we’ve been through… it feels like a dream to still be standing here.”

Adrian turned her around gently. “You’re strong, Savannah. You faced everything with courage. I’m proud of you.”

Her eyes filled with tears again. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”

He smiled and wiped her tears. “No more crying. Only smiles now, okay?”

Savannah nodded and leaned her head on his chest. The two of them stayed that way for a while — just holding each other, listening to the quiet sound of the night.

Liam peeked from his room door, smiling when he saw them together. He whispered softly to himself, “Now Mommy and Daddy are happy.” Then he tiptoed back to bed, clutching his teddy bear.

That night, peace finally returned to their hearts.
For the first time in a long while, Savannah slept without fear, without nightmares — just pure peace.

And Adrian? He stayed awake for a little while, watching her sleep, whispering quietly, “I’ll always protect you, Savannah… always.”
