Chapter 235 Chapter 235
Chapter 235 Chapter 235
It was a bright afternoon, calm and peaceful. The birds outside sang softly, and Savannah felt the cool breeze brush against her skin as she stood near the balcony. For the first time in weeks, she felt like she could breathe again. Adrian had gone out for a short business meeting, promising to be back in an hour.
“Don’t stress yourself, baby,” he had said before leaving. “I’ll be back soon. I’ve asked Rose to stay close to you.”
Savannah smiled and nodded, waving at him as he left. But deep down, a strange feeling was crawling inside her. Something didn’t feel right.
She turned to Rose. “I just want to take a short walk outside the gate. I’ll be fine.”
Rose hesitated. “Madam, sir said—”
“I’ll only be a minute,” Savannah interrupted softly. “I just need some fresh air.”
Rose sighed and nodded. “Okay ma’am, but please be careful.”
Savannah stepped out of the gate. The air outside was fresh, the sun warm. She rubbed her belly gently and whispered to her unborn baby, “Mommy will protect you, always.”
A black van was parked down the street. She didn’t pay much attention to it — she thought it belonged to some workers nearby. But a few minutes later, the van engine started, slowly rolling toward her.
Before she could react, two masked men jumped out.
“What—who are you?!” she screamed.
“Get her!” one shouted.
Savannah tried to run back toward the gate, but they grabbed her roughly. “Help! Help!” she screamed again, fighting with all her strength.
Rose, hearing the noise, ran out from the house. “Madam! Madam Savannah!” she shouted, but it was too late. The van door slammed shut, and the vehicle sped off.
Rose fell to the ground crying. “Help! They took Madam Savannah! Help!”
Inside the house, Aunty Lisa came rushing down the stairs after hearing the screams. “What happened?!” she shouted.
“They—they took her, ma’am!” Rose sobbed, pointing down the road. “They took Madam Savannah in a black van!”
Aunty Lisa’s face went pale. She grabbed her phone with shaking hands and called Adrian immediately.
“Sir! Sir! Please come home! It’s Madam Savannah… she’s been kidnapped!”
For a few seconds, there was silence on the line. Then Adrian’s voice broke, full of fear. “What did you just say?”
“She was taken, sir! I saw it! They took her!”
Adrian’s heart stopped. “Oh God… no, no, no.”
He dropped everything he was holding and ran straight to his car, speeding out of the parking lot like a madman. His mind was racing, his hands shaking on the wheel. “Please be safe, Savannah. Please be safe,” he whispered again and again.
Meanwhile, inside the van, Savannah struggled to free herself, tears pouring down her face. “Please let me go! Please! I’m pregnant!”
One of the kidnappers pushed her back roughly. “Shut up!”
Savannah cried harder. “Please, I’ll give you anything! Don’t hurt my baby!”
The man looked at her with cold eyes. “We don’t want your money. We just follow orders.”
Savannah froze, realizing that someone had planned this — someone wanted her gone.
The van drove for miles until her voice grew weak from crying. Her heart pounded so hard she could barely breathe. She could only pray silently in her heart.
“God, please… please help me. Help Adrian find me. Don’t let anything happen to my baby.”
Back at home, police sirens filled the street. The officers began taking statements from Rose and Aunty Lisa.
“She went out just for a few minutes,” Rose said, still crying. “Then the van came from nowhere.”
Aunty Lisa was shaking. “She had a bad feeling this morning,” she whispered. “I told her to rest.”
Just then, Adrian’s car screeched to a halt in front of the gate. He ran out, his face pale and eyes wide with fear.
“Where is she?!” he yelled. “Where is my wife?!”
The officer stepped forward. “Sir, calm down. We’re already looking into it. We’ll find her.”
Adrian ran his hands through his hair, breathing heavily. “She’s pregnant! She’s pregnant and they took her!”
The officer nodded. “We’ll do everything we can, sir. We’ve already called the nearby patrol teams. We’ll get her back.”
Adrian turned away, tears in his eyes. He walked a few steps, staring at the empty street where she had disappeared. His heart felt like it was tearing apart.
Suddenly, his phone rang. Unknown number.
He picked it up quickly. “Hello? Savannah?”
A deep voice answered. “We have your wife.”
Adrian’s breath caught in his throat. “Who are you? What do you want?”
The voice chuckled. “You’ll find out soon. Don’t try to act smart. If you call the wrong person, she dies.”
The call ended. Adrian dropped his phone, his whole body shaking.
He looked up at the police officer, eyes filled with rage and fear.
“They have my wife,” he said in a trembling voice. “Find them before it’s too late.”
The chapter ends with Adrian falling to his knees, whispering, “Please, God… don’t take her from me.”
