Chapter 225 Chapter 225
Chapter 225 Chapter 225
The morning started calm.
Savannah sat in the living room, sipping warm tea while Adrian was in his home office. She tried to smile, tried to act normal, but her mind was far away.
The sound of the birds outside didn’t bring her peace anymore.
Something felt off — deep inside her heart.
She placed her hand on her belly and whispered softly, “You’re safe, my baby. Mommy will protect you.”
Her phone vibrated on the table.
She blinked and picked it up, thinking it was Adrian texting her.
But the number on the screen was strange.
No name. No saved contact. Just a random number.
She frowned and opened the message.
> “You think you’re safe, Savannah? You’re not. We see everything.”
Her hand froze.
Her heart skipped a beat.
She looked around the living room, her breath shaking. “What… what is this?” she whispered.
Another message came in almost immediately.
> “Tell your loving husband to watch his back. And your son… such a cute boy. Be careful, Savannah.”
Savannah dropped the phone. It fell to the floor with a soft thud. Her chest felt tight, and her eyes filled with tears.
“No… no, no,” she whispered, covering her mouth with her shaking hands.
Her body began to tremble. She quickly picked up the phone again and tried to call the number — but it didn’t go through. It said “Number not available.”
Her heartbeat grew faster. She stood up and locked the door, looking through the window like someone might be watching her.
Memories rushed through her mind — all the pain, the betrayal, the fear of losing everything she loved. She placed her hand over her belly again.
“Oh God, please not again,” she whispered, tears rolling down her cheeks.
At that moment, Adrian came out from his office, holding some papers. “Savannah, baby, have you seen—”
He stopped when he saw her face.
Her eyes were red, her phone clutched tightly in her hand.
“Hey… what’s wrong?” he asked, walking quickly toward her.
She tried to hide the phone behind her back, forcing a shaky smile. “It’s nothing,” she said quietly.
Adrian frowned. “Nothing? You’re crying, Savannah. What happened?”
She wiped her eyes quickly. “I just— I remembered something sad, that’s all.”
He held her chin gently, searching her eyes. “Are you sure?”
She nodded, though her heart was pounding so hard it almost hurt. “Yes, I’m fine.”
Adrian sighed and kissed her forehead. “You need to rest, okay? You’ve been stressing yourself too much. Please, don’t think too much.”
“Okay,” she whispered.
He smiled softly and went back to his office.
The moment he left, Savannah sat down again and looked at her phone.
The messages were still there, cold and cruel.
Her fingers hovered over the screen — she wanted to delete them but couldn’t. Something told her she might need to show Adrian later.
But not now.
She didn’t want to worry him again.
She looked toward the window one more time and whispered to herself, “Who are you? What do you want from me?”
Outside, the wind blew softly, shaking the curtains.
Somewhere, far away, a woman smiled while watching her phone screen — it was Clara, waiting for the next move.
Savannah had no idea this was just the beginning.
