Chapter 194 Chapter 194
The dinner was going well. Everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves. The host suddenly stood up and said with a smile, “Now, let’s hear from the beautiful wife of Mr. Adrian. Mrs. Savannah, please come and say a few words about your husband.”
People started clapping and smiling. Adrian looked at Savannah with a small smile and whispered, “Go on, my love.”
Savannah stood up slowly, her long dress shining under the lights. She walked to the front with a calm face, holding the mic with both hands. The room became quiet. Everyone was waiting to hear her speak.
She smiled softly and started, “Good evening everyone. I don’t really know how to make a speech, but I know how to speak from my heart.”
People smiled and nodded. Adrian looked at her proudly.
Savannah turned to him and continued, “This man sitting there,” she pointed at Adrian, “is not just my husband. He is my best friend, my peace, and my biggest blessing.”
The hall became silent again. Her voice was soft, but it went deep into everyone’s heart.
“When I met him,” Savannah said, “I was broken. I had nothing, and I thought life was over for me. But he came into my life and made me feel like I was worth loving again. He didn’t care about my past, he cared about my heart. He picked me up when I was falling. He made me smile again.”
Adrian blinked back tears.
Savannah smiled warmly and looked at everyone. “Sometimes we look for love in the wrong places, but when God sends the right person, you’ll just know. Adrian didn’t give me gold or diamonds. He gave me peace, and that’s something no money can buy.”
A few women in the hall were already wiping their eyes. Some men held their wives’ hands gently.
She continued softly, “He’s not perfect, but he’s my home. Every time I look at him, I thank God I said yes to him.”
Adrian couldn’t hold back his tears anymore. He stood up slowly and clapped for her. Everyone joined, clapping and smiling with emotion.
Savannah wiped her eyes and ended with a smile, “To every woman here, love isn’t about what you get, it’s about who stays and holds you when you’re weak. And to every man, cherish the woman who prays for you when you’re not around.”
People stood up, cheering and clapping loudly. It was so emotional that some couples hugged each other tightly.
Savannah walked back to her seat. Adrian stood up and hugged her, whispering, “You are my everything, Savannah.”
She smiled and whispered back, “And you are my peace.”
But not everyone was happy.
From across the table, Cassandra was boiling with anger. Her hand gripped her wine glass tightly as she forced a fake smile.
“How can she get all the attention?” she muttered under her breath. Her eyes were dark with jealousy, and she clenched her jaw.
Vanessa noticed her mood and tried to calm her down quietly, but Cassandra didn’t listen.
Her heart was burning with hate. Everyone was praising Savannah, and that alone made her chest feel heavy.
Cassandra smiled coldly, hiding her true feelings behind the fake smile on her face.
“Enjoy while it lasts, Savannah,” she whispered to herself. “Because soon, I will make sure your peace doesn’t last forever.”
