Chapter 172 Chapter 172
The car slowly drove into the big mansion. Aunty Lisa and the maids had already decorated the living room with colorful balloons and ribbons. As soon as Adrian and Savannah stepped out of the car, everyone clapped and cheered.
“Welcome home, ma’am!” the maids shouted, smiling from ear to ear.
Savannah couldn’t help but laugh. She looked so fresh and peaceful, though still a little weak. Adrian held her hand as they walked inside. Liam ran straight to her, shouting, “Mommy!”
Savannah knelt down carefully and hugged him tight. Tears rolled down her eyes as she kissed his cheeks over and over. “I missed you, my baby,” she whispered.
Aunty Lisa walked up to her, smiling proudly. “You see? You scared all of us, my dear. Even this boy cried for you every night,” she said, pointing at Liam.
Savannah looked at Liam again and smiled sadly. “I’m so sorry, sweetheart. Mommy won’t scare you again.”
Adrian hugged both of them from behind. “Now that you’re back home, no more stress. You’ll rest for at least a week, and that’s an order,” he said, pretending to sound serious.
Savannah giggled. “Yes, my boss,” she teased, and everyone laughed.
They all gathered around the dining table. The maids brought in trays of food — roasted chicken, salad, fresh fruit juice, and a big chocolate cake that had Welcome Home written on it.
Aunty Lisa lifted her glass and said, “Let’s toast to Savannah’s good health and to this beautiful family.”
Everyone cheered, “Cheers!” and raised their glasses.
Savannah smiled as she looked around. The mansion that once felt too big now felt warm and full of love. She felt lucky — lucky to be alive, lucky to have Adrian, and lucky to have a family that truly cared.
Adrian couldn’t take his eyes off her. Every time she smiled, it made his heart lighter. “You’re glowing, Savannah,” he said softly.
She laughed shyly. “That’s because I’m home.”
Aunty Lisa nodded. “And you have a husband who loves you too much,” she added playfully.
Everyone laughed again.
Liam climbed onto his dad’s lap. “Daddy, when will Mommy play with me outside again?”
“Soon, champ,” Adrian said, kissing his son’s hair. “Mommy just needs to rest a little.”
Savannah smiled warmly at the two of them. “Don’t worry, baby. Mommy will be fine soon.”
After dinner, Aunty Lisa and the maids cleaned up while Adrian led Savannah upstairs to their bedroom. He helped her sit down and took off her shoes gently.
“You’ve done too much today,” he said softly.
Savannah smiled and touched his face. “You’ve done even more. Thank you for taking care of me.”
He looked into her eyes. “You don’t have to thank me. You’re my wife, Savannah. I’ll always take care of you.”
Her heart melted. “You make everything sound so easy.”
He laughed quietly. “Because loving you is easy.”
Savannah felt her cheeks warm up. She leaned on his chest and closed her eyes. The soft hum of his heartbeat made her feel calm.
Later that night, they sat on the balcony together, watching the stars. The sky was clear, and a cool wind blew gently through the curtains.
Adrian held her close and whispered, “You know, when you were in the hospital, I promised myself I’d never let you face pain alone again.”
Savannah smiled faintly. “Then I guess I’m safe forever.”
He kissed her forehead. “Yes, you are.”
Downstairs, Aunty Lisa told the maids not to make any noise. “Let them rest. They’ve been through a lot,” she said.
As the night grew quiet, Savannah finally drifted to sleep in Adrian’s arms, feeling peaceful.
For the first time in a long while, everything felt right. The mansion wasn’t just a house anymore — it was a home filled with love, laughter, and a new beginning.
