Chapter 93 Chapter 93
Joshua
“Hey man, when will you be coming back to my place? We have a lot of things to cover up. Plus, what did fuck did you do to our little princess, she had been avoiding me.” Michael slammed down beside me, venting.
I’m sure the princess he was talking about was Adalia.
She was hella annoying and freaking the shit out of me.
Ever since that incident, I’ve been trying to be more careful while carrying out my duties, even though I was being monitored by Halley.
I was sure Selena had pulled her up to it, or she just decided to do that herself, either way it wasn't favoring me as I now go home early, and if I’m ten minutes late, Halley would show up at my school.
Two days ago, just when I was about to enter Halley’s car, crazy Adalia decided to appear, with a green dress that was ridiculously too short for her, and that stupid long nails. She had held the car door. Dismissing I was with someone.
“So she is the reason?” She had scoffed, tears gathering in her eyes as she pointed at Halley, accusing.
“How can you pick her over me? She is less in everything. Look at her car! Her hair, everything about her speaks of brokenness! Is it because she is older? But what use is being with an older lady if she can't care of herself! I thought you were up high with morals and values, but this? Following after an older lady just because of money, you should have followed me at least.”
I never knew words could flow out of someone without a break. Halley had her mouth open as Adalia rained more words on her.
I've never been more embarrassed that felt like I could die. I could only mutter a few words at her before entering the car.
“Get the fuck away from my life. I don't want to see you being close to me ever again.”
It was hurtful. Fuck I knew it was, but I was hella annoyed. Thankfully, Halley wasn't mad. She had only teased me about it. Even she didn't see fit of Adalia’s behavior..
“I hope she continues to avoid me. She is embarrassing.” I packed my books inside my bags.
“Hey man, you are leaving so early. No coming to my house anymore?” Michael asked again.
“I can't. My sister got her crazy best friend on me. I have to leave here now for somewhere so I can go home early, if not you'll see her here soon.” I stood up, ready to leave.
“I would love that. You know she is really hot, I don't think I mind older women if it’s her.”
I rolled my eyes. “Dont dream about it. She has a boyfriend. He might not be crazy, but she is crazy. You don't want someone dragging you all over Monterrey.”
I walked out of the classroom, Michael following me behind.
“I don't think I mind that.”
He was insane.
“But are you really done with Miss Princess? She didn't look so good when I saw her. She usually looks like the world is blue and pink, but now she just dragged her feet. What could you have told her?”
“Get the fuck away from my life. I don't want to see you being close to me ever again.” I repeated for the third time.
“For someone who has never experienced hardship, that's harsh man.”
I stopped, turning back to glare at him, he stepped backward, raising his hands.
“She will be fine,” I muttered.
We stepped out of the building.
“Too bad, she won’t be requesting information on you anymore. You just blocked a bank man. Can't you talk to her because of me?”
I ignored him and took out my phone to order an Uber.
“Yeah, whatever, ignore me.”
From the side of my eyes, Michael started looking at his phone.
“I would have loved to keep chatting, buddy, but I gotta run along now. See yeah, tomorrow.” He suddenly said and started running.
He was weird.
Thankfully he was gone. I placed the Uber, it just needed five minutes to get here.
I tapped my feet, waiting.
After that day of the incident, I started having my suspicions. I don't know if I was being paranoid, but it felt like Selena had come to the station that day, but wasn't allowed in.
Was it real or did I just expect that, and my head wouldn't stop making up scenarios?
Selena hasn't been back since the incident. More like she was occupied – and that was unusual.
She may be far from home, but distance has never stopped her from caring for me.
That’s why I didn't want to believe she didn't come for me. Plus, being arrested, framed immediately, only to be released without any charges was suspicious and one person kept coming to my mind.
Theodore Mateo.
Looking at the phone, the car was two minutes away. I opened my bag, searching for my wallet.
“Where did it go?” It wasn't inside.
Shit, I turned back to the building. I could just tell the car to wait.
With that, I ran back inside.
It wasn't in the auditorium. I ran to the computer lab. Reaching my desk, I opened it, and there it was. I took out the wallet and turned to leave the class.
“Like seriously, are you dumb! I told you to bring your new bag. The designers! How dare you bring a cheap one? What even is this?”
It seemed someone was being bullied. It’s crazy how bullying even works for an adult.
My phone rang and I picked it up. It was the rider.
“I’m coming now,” I said, ending the call. I was already late. I started running out.
“I told you already that it belongs to my mother! It’s a new edition and only three people have it in the world. How do you want me to bring something like that?”
I stopped in my tracks.
Adalia?
It sounded like her. My hand clenched the strap of my bag.
“Does it matter? Just tell your mom you lost it or something, I’m sure she can get something else!” another voice yelled.
“What? I should ask her to get another? Do you think my family wakes up to piles of money on the floor!”
It was definitely Adalia. My feet moved without hesitation to the door that led to a smaller room. Where equipment is kept.
“Yes, you have it easy anyway. Your rich family is blessed either way! And you let others work for you while you earn all the money for the hardship!”
“You are truly dumb. Why don’t you and family get blessed also, so you won’t be here begging for bags and tho—“
Sounds of a slap echoed from the room, followed by a gasp.
I heard dumb, and then laughter.
Adalia was slapped.
Those crazy money-hungry girls!
I pushed the door and it opened.
Three of them stood in front of her figure on the floor, and hearing the door open, she looked up, tears staining her eyes.
Fuck!
