Chapter 57 Chapter 57
Theodore
I watched her as she picked her food, stealing glances when I wasn’t looking.
Was she not satisfied with the food? For some reason, she seemed not to enjoy Martha’s food.
“You don't have to eat if you don't want to.” I dropped my fork.
I had requested that Martha leave after she was done cooking.
Maybe I could make Selena something? But I have never cooked before.
Again, she glanced at me, but immediately shifted her gaze to the food. A red taint stained her face, she was shy.
No matter how bold she tried to be, I could see it in her eyes, but there was something more I could see.
Selena’s naughtiness.
The way she drew her legs together each time she looked at me.
I picked the grape and placed it inside my mouth, looking at her.
What could I do to have her? To make her agree to be mine? To make her forget Noah fully?
I could kill him, but that will only drive her apart. She had been in pain for a long period, missing him, closing her heart against me. I couldn't wait that long.
Her eyes shifted to her phone and then her brows drew together as she read her message.
“What happened?” I asked, taking another grape. She looked up, contemplating whether to say it or not as she bit her lips, my eyes trailed on them.
Selena’s lips held a natural pink tint, their softness radiating. Even just waking up, Selena was breathtaking.
Last night, I held myself from touching her. I didn't want to hurt her.
Hurt her little body and softness. How I wanted to break her, seeing her touch her pink pussy with those fingers, how she threw her head back, her nipples begging me to take them into my mouth.
I wanted to. But she wasn't ready. She wasn't ready to be mine, so I had left for the only alternative I could think of. Something I had used to relieve her while watching from my couch. Listening to her soft groan of pain and pleasure.
I had closed her eyes from staring at me, because my control would break if she stared at me with those eyes.
Then she had struggled with the overwhelming feeling, fighting to take the circle out of sex.
Selena was a problem. One I didn't want to get rid of.
“My father,”
I lifted my gaze to her. She licked her lips. “Father is missing, the old housekeeper just called now. Father never stays outside late since he moved there. He had made plans to help the keeper last night, but he didn't come home.” She spoke, her gaze complicated, picking her words as she looked at me. She chewed slowly.
“You are worried?” I studied her as she dropped her phone on the table.
She was worried.
But why? Why care about someone who had caused you so much pain?
“I can't help it. Though he was never good to us, he was still our father. He isn't one to stay out throughout the night.” She murmured the last part, but I heard her.
I picked another grape. “What if he is dead?”
Her eyes slowly widened in horror. “That can't happen.” She raised her voice, only to retreat.
It seemed though he was a bad father, Selena cared about him greatly, or….
“I don't wish for Father to die. Though I want something terrible to happen to him, I still don't wish him death. He is the only parent we have, and he may not have been good to me, but he was good to Josh when we were younger.” She sighed. “We don't know anything about our mom, so it’s better if he keeps living.”
Hmm. It seemed I would have to keep him alive, but away from them. Killing him would only sadden her.
“You have never known anything from your mother?”
No information was found on her. I have always taken pride in having the best team, and if they couldn't find anything on her or when the kids were younger, it means someone was deliberately hiding those information. Someone powerful as well.
But why?
Just what was Selena?
“No. I can't remember ever having a mom.” She still looked worried.
“For some reason, father would never say anything about her. There are zero traces of her in our old houses.”
“Hm,” I nodded. It seemed there was more to it. “What about your brother? What does he do?”
She looked at me, and slowly her gaze turned defensive, she straightened up. “Josh is just a student.”
That was all. She didn't say anything else. Why?
Was it because she didn't want me knowing her brother or was there something more to hide?
I took the napkin and cleaned my hands. “What if he is involved in something dangerous? He is a student after all, one who is a computer major.”
Her eyes narrowed. “I never told you his major.” Her tone turned cold as she asked, her gaze accusing.
She indeed never told me. I had found out from the information Ethan shared.
I looked at Selena, how her eyes studied me. It seemed Josh was the way to get Selena.
“You never did, Selena, but it’s written in the contract.” I hadn't checked there, but I knew it was somewhere there.
“Oh,” immediately, her posture grew softer and she sighed. “Josh has always been careful. There is no way he had engaged in such, He doesn't have it in his bones.” She nodded her head, fully convinced.
Selena didn't know Josh too well.
In her heart, he was just the little younger brother she wished to protect.
Her weakness.
Her phone beeped and she took it. Looking at it, she glanced at me, and then looked back at her phone.
Suddenly she gasped. “Ah.”
“What’s wrong?”
She moved her hand to her stomach, holding it tight, her face grimacing.
“My stomach hurts, I think I need to use the restroom.” She didn't wait as she sprinted out, her phone in her hand.
It seemed Martha would stop cooking for her.
