Chapter 212 Chapter 212
Chapter 212 Chapter 212
Theodore
She didn't let me.
I watched as Selena entered the car with Halley. Five of my men entered another car behind as she waved at me.
“I’ll be back. You better not leave the house, I will really be unhappy.” She threatened for the thousandth time. Halley murmured something to her, and then she pouted at me.
My lips spread into a smile at her look, with that she drove off.
I should follow her, she would never find out that I did. But I didn't like that she was scared.
Since she woke up, she didn't stop telling me not to go out. Though she didn't want to tell me what she saw in her dream, I knew something must have happened to me to make her terrified.
The cars moved out of my sight and I sighed. I turned to head inside but stopped at the tight squeeze of my chest.
“What was wrong?” I whispered to myself.
Selena..
I turned back to where they had left from.
I should follow her….I started walking but stopped.
She was already worried about something happening to me, so I should respect her fear.
I took out my phone and dialed one of the men with her. They were part of my old men along with Zac.
Zac not waking up was depressing. Though Rayan had said he was getting more vitals from him, I wasn't satisfied.
“Boss.” The line connected.
“I don't want anything to go wrong. Keep all your attention on Selena.”
“Yes, boss. Don't worry, madam is safe with us.”
I ended the call.
Maybe I was being paranoid because of her dream. I rubbed my chest and turned to enter the house, but then my phone rang and my heart skipped a beat.
But it was Larisa.
I sighed in relief.
Why was she calling? My brows drew together as I stared at my phone.
It had been two weeks since it was announced that I was stepping down, and she was only reaching out now. I rolled my eyes and picked up the call, then entered.
“Are you really stepping down?” She asked as I strolled inside mine and Selena’s room.
The soft smell of her body hit my nose and my lips curled into a smile. Sleeping with her by my side has now made my nights easier. Before knowing Selena, my nights were filled with mother’s face, I dared not close my eyes. But now, it was different.
“Are you still there Theo?”
Her voice drew me out of my thoughts as I stared at my room which was now different from how it was before.
I needed to create a kind and warm environment for Selena and our child, and the old room wasn't Fi—
“Theo!”
My brows tightened as she yelled, cutting my thoughts short.
“What do you want?” I asked, annoyed at her disturbance.
“Are you truly giving everything up? Not being in the center of all the family business? Do you really want everything crashing down?” She asked.
I wasn't sure if she was annoyed or concerned or even happy. Maybe she was all three.
“Uncle must have told you everything, why do you need to ask me again?” My eyes stopped at the boxes I had been preparing since Selena woke up.
I was going to give it to her soon.
I wondered what her reaction was going to be, she was probably going to burst into tears. But the most important thing was that I wanted her to see my heart and intentions.
Would she feel it after seeing everything inside the box?
“What if she leaves you?”
Selena would never leave me. I wanted to say.
“I know we were never so close, but we are family. I also know how much you love Selena, and I know she is a good woman, but leaving everything behind just for her is not going to end well. The higher-ups aren't taking the news well. I know Father won't tell you as he respects your decision.”
My gaze shifted away from the box, and then stopped at the document on the desk.
How will Selena look when she opens it?
I couldn't wait.
“Are you even listening to me?” I heard Larisa say. She was starting to annoy me.
“You don't respect my decision then..?” I asked, walking towards the box and files.
Silence filled both of our spaces.
“You know that isn't what I mean…..the business needs you. You can't just drop everything all of a sudden.”
“I can, and I have done that. You and Boris can take care of the business, being the leader isn't always so bad. Now, I have something to do..” I ended the call.
Very soon I won't have to speak to anyone. I was going to leave the county with Selena and make sure no one would be able to reach us. I reached the document and pulled open its contents slowly.
Congratulat…..
My phone rang again, and I rolled my eyes. I should block her.
I took the phone out, but it was Ethan. Why would he call me? I already told him I won't be coming for the company’s meeting today…
I picked up the call and placed the phone to my ear.
“Hannah is missing. It was just reported now that she has been missing for the past two weeks.”
My brows drew together. “And you were never informed?” I asked, balling my hand into a fist.
I was going to release Hannah, but she was a threat so I had placed her inside one of my houses with guards watching over her.
“She had one of the maids disguised as her.”
I rubbed my nose. “Though she is smart, she can't do much by herself, especially with an injured leg so find her.”
“Yes, boss.”
I ended the call.
Who could have helped her out?
I should have killed her, before she went to the wrong—
My phone rang again, and I frowned at the number of Selena’s bodyguard before picking.
“What happened?”
“Boss, we were ambushed and…and Madam and her friend were taken....All our men are dead.”
