Chapter 101 Chapter 101
Selena
It has been two days since we left Seoul, and two days since I last saw Theodore.
He had been out with Zac.
These two nights, I have felt him on the bed beside me in the night. . Maybe it was all my imagination.
After that day at the shopping building, I went home with a complicated feeling.
Truly, 75% percent of the stocks had turned his before his deadline of thirty minutes. And the sales reps?
She didn’t stop crying till she was dragged out. And the manager was on her toes around us.
That night, we had sex, and as always my eyes were closed. I wanted to give in fully, but I couldn’t stop thinking about everything.
A day later, we traveled back to Russia in his private helicopter.
Till now, I couldn’t stop thinking about what Svetlana said about a tongue being pulled out. I sighed.
“This’s the eighth time that you are sighing in a sitting position. Miss, are you sure you are feeling good? Your mood has taken a turn since we got back from Seoul."
I looked up to Svetlana. She was helping me fold all my clothes inside the luggage as we're heading back to Monterrey tomorrow.
Coming here, I had come with just a box, but now, there were so many clothes that I would probably forget to wear them later.
“Nothing, I just feel tired.” I lied, folding the dress in my hands, and I placed it inside the box.
“I don’t think so though. You definitely have something on your mind, bothering you.” She placed the shirt on her hands inside the same bus. “If I’m right, the starting point of this mood is the shopping building.”
“Do you think so?” I asked, taking another shirt to fold.
Svetlana sat on the bed, her full attention on me. “I’m sorry that I told you that. It must have shaken you up.”
I forced a smile. “Why are you apologizing? If not anything, I should know. It’s only right that I'm aware of the type of person he is.”
Svetlana doesn’t say anything, her eyes on me. Then she opened her mouth. “Boss may have done cruel things, but there is no doubt that he cares about you so much. He even smiles now, that’s something I have never seen. You should be rest assured that he would never do anything to hurt you.”
What of others?
I folded the shirt and kept it inside the box.
I walked down, in search of Svetlana.
Where could she have gone? I munched on the biscuit I had collected from the kitchen a while ago.
Though I didn’t spend much time in this place, I would still say it was a beautiful mansion.
I stepped out of the building, my eyes already set on the gazebo by the garden. I walked to it and sat, munching on my cookies, my eyes on the little garden by the side, filled with flowers.
I was going to miss her. Being in this space, not working, not worrying too much. It was a dream I’ve never dared to have.
I’m going to miss Svetlana too. If only she could come with me.
This place was not good for her. Plus when I leave, I’m sure Theodore would leave then she would be far away from Zac.
I sighed, talking another biscuit inside my mouth.
I wondered if they had been able to speak to each other. It was as clear as the sun that Zac was into her.
What if he was scared because of Theodore?
It’s not like there’s a law that says workers couldn’t find love in each other.
“Here you are, munching on biscuits like you belong to this place.”
I turned to the source of the voice, and my heart skipped at the sight of Hannah. Why was she here now?
I looked back at my plate, and took another biscuit, ignoring her, hoping she would leave if I didn't reply.
She scoffed. “Now, you got the nerves.” She stood in front of me.
“What do you want?”
“What do you have to give me?”
I sighed and placed the biscuit in my mouth. It was better that I ignored her.
Svetlana’s voice came in, “There was once a worker who spoke crudely to Ms Hannah. Boss Theodore got her tongue pulled out, and then it was stitched back. Rumors had it then that he pulled the tongue out himself, with the medical team nearby. She also lost her job after, but she wasn't blacklisted.”
I swallowed.
Sure, someone like her seemed to magnetize evil. I chewed on the biscuits.
“I just want to give you a piece of advice, Selena.”
There we go.
“Leave Theodore alone, before it’s too late. I know you think you are all he needs now, but I’ll tell you the truth. There have been women more beautiful before you, and there’ll be a lot after you. You should leave and save your little heart before he tosses you away.”
For the first time since she arrived, I raised my head to look at her, and I wanted to roll my eyes at her outfits.
She wore a red gown, a large portion of her breast on display. She must have done it thinking Theodore was home.
“Thanks for your advice.” I faked a smile, before taking another biscuit. “But, for someone worried about me, you should cover up yourselves? After all, you just said Theodore is only into me now. Doesn’t that mean, others' effort will be wasted?”
“You! How dare you speak to me that way!”
Before I could blink, she had sent my plate of biscuits to the floor. I gasped at the wastage.
“What a dumb fuck.” I dropped down to the floor to pick the cookies. Thankfully the plate didn’t break.
“This’s exactly who you are!”
I ignored her, picking more of the biscuits. And then she stepped on my fingers.
I screamed at the pain and pushed her leg away.
“I hope you know your place now, you slut.”
I could only watch her sway her waist out of my sight. My fingers red with little bruises.
