Chapter 212 Markus

Chapter 212 Markus
“Are you sure about moving out?” Uncle Mike asks as he wheels himself towards our crowd of males.

“Yes,” I say as survey our crew.

The ranked males of our pack are instructing the visiting Alphas on where things are going. We’ve had men out here in the last two days, secretly building our own house. We’ve had to speed run the whole building process. But these last couple of days, has been a race to finish.

Uncle Will and Uncle Mike are letting us build on their property. We are not building a mansion, but a nice size house. Single story, ranch style house, with four bedrooms, a basement, and three full bathrooms. It has wheelchair access so Uncle Mike can come visit whenever he wants.

We’ve had to be sneaky in the last few months. We had the building materials delivered to a remote part of the pack where Ama would not find them. We had the brush cleared out three months ago, stating that Uncle Will wanted the kids to have more room to play. We left the tree line so Ama would not see the basement being poured.

A few of the wolves of the pack were contractors. They assisted in building the house when they could. They came over at odd hours, slowly building. The frame went up the other week. Walls went up at the beginning of the week.

We then contacted everyone who was coming, asking for help in building the house while the ladies participate in baby shower. A few Alphas and Lunas came in yesterday to help with the building.

Ama stayed at the pack house, cooking and hosting. She and Rose had crashed at the pack house, giving us the perfect opportunity to finish the house.

The basement is finished, and we already have the frame up with walls. The flooring is all but done. We have some painting left.

Two Alphas brought with them electricians. They had been putting in the wiring since they arrived.

“Okay, we have less than two hours,” Cal says as he jogs up.

“Tree line?” Uncle Mike asks as he surveys the room being put together.

“Almost cleared, siding is going up now,” Cal says. “How is it going inside here?”

“Wiring is done and so is plumbing,” I tell him.

“Carpeting is finished in the rooms and the rest of the flooring as well,” James answers.

“Windows are put in,” Nick says with a smile.

“Electricity will take a day or two to be hooked up,” Alpha Harold says as looks around.

“Damn,” Cal says with a sigh.

“You knew we were racing the clock,” Uncle Mike says.

“I know, but we had hoped it would be move in ready,” I sigh.

“Yes, but we will be able to bring everything over after the shower,” Cal says with a determined nod.

“Then, let’s get this place finished,” Uncle Will says.

Time seemed to drag and fly by to fast as we continued to put the finishing touches on the house. Rose’s room is painted in soft pink and purple. We painted the master bedroom a sage green. Our son’s room is painted dark blue with lots of baby blue accents. The kitchen is a mixture of modern and rustic, perfect for Ama to cook in. Each bathroom is designed slightly different. We figured Ama could add personal touches later.

“You pups did good,” Alpha Micah croaks as he sits on the couch.

“Thank you, sir,” I say with a smile as we look around.

“Where do you want this?” Alpha Roman asks as he leads a few other Alphas into the house, carrying boxes of our stuff.

“Rose’s stuff goes in the pink room. Nick is in there setting up her bed. Our stuff goes in the master bedroom,” I direct.

They all nod and take off towards their destinations.

“We figured you could use these to stock the kitchen,” George, our pack warrior, says as he leads in Alec and Sean.

“Also, Juliet says that the party is winding down,” Alec pipes up as he carries his box past us and into the kitchen.

“Head to the pack house,” Uncle Will orders.

“We’ll finish up here,” Uncle Mike says as he wheels himself to the kitchen to finish stocking the cabinets.

“Come on,” Cal says as he grabs the keys to our suburban.

“I can’t believe that we finally get to bring Ama home. To her own home,” I say as I hop into the passenger seat.

“It’s taken too long,” Cal agrees.

“You think she’ll like it?” I ask, nervous energy seeping into my voice. We faced down Francesca with less anxiety. Moving Ama into a home all her own should not be this stressful.

“Calm down, before you send one of us into a panic attack,” Cal orders sharply as he navigates the streets.

“Sorry, I’m sorry,” I apologize.

‘Beren says she is excited to move into a home you built for them,’ Aziz says, trying to assure me.

‘You told her?’ I demand.

‘You boys are not as sneaky as you think you are,’ he laughs. ‘We told Beren so she could distract her human if she ever got too nosy.’

‘Thanks, you are the best,’ I laugh in return.

‘I know,’ he says smugly.

I roll my eyes at him.

Cal and I get out and go inside. We get to the hall to hear laughing coming from inside. Ama is sitting beside a mountain of gifts. Rose keeps handing her more. A good portion of them is already open, but she still has more to open.

I sit down beside Vickie. She has a notebook open. She catches my eye and shows me her book. It’s full of what Ama received and who it is from.

“Hi,” Ama laughs as she gives Cal a kiss.

“Papa!” Rose shouts as she hands Ama the gift and then runs to Cal. He picks her up and places her on his hip.

“You almost finished here?” Cal asks.

“Almost,” Kira says.
