Chapter 210 Amalie

Chapter 210 Amalie
“Please, I didn’t do anything,” Melissa screams as she is brought into the meeting hall.

Rose is home with dad. I did not want her here for this.

Cal wraps his arms around to ground me. Mark stands partially in front of me to protect us.

Marie is brought in next. She has tears streaming down her cheeks. I can’t tell if they are fake or real. She does not struggle as she is practically dragged in.

The elders, the ones who supported Cal and Mark, are standing off to the side. Isaac, Willow, Zane, and Allison are talking amongst themselves. They keep throwing glances at me.

Against the other wall are the ranked members of our pack. The boys stand protectively by their mates.

They are all here as witnesses.

Four warriors dragged my mother and sister in here. There are two warriors holding each of them firmly. None of us are in any danger. But the other part of me understands the feeling of wanting to protect us. After all, these were my abusers.

“Marie and Melissa Remington, you have been brought here to face judgement and punishment for your crimes,” Elder Isaac says as he steps forward.

“We were doing what we were told,” Marie attempts to explain. “Gamma Jarrett ordered her imprisonment.”

“You went along with it,” Mark growls dangerously.

“We were ordered to. Gamma Jarrett ordered it,” Melissa cries. “Please, we didn’t want to.”

Cal can feel me bristle at her statement. Cal starts to growl as well.

“Even if you were, why did you treat her that way? You could have imprisoned her, so no one knew about her. But you did not. You abused her physically and mentally for years,” my father growls as he storms into the room. “When she was brought to the hospital, my daughter had severe silver burns on her wrists and ankles. Her leg was broken. She was suffering from severe blood loss.”

“Your daughter!” Marie screams. “She is my daughter. I gave birth to her and I raised her.”

“Then you should have treated me like one!” I scream in retaliation. I try to lunge for Marie, but Cal has a firm grip on me. For a second, I don’t know if he is holding me back, or I am holding him back.

Turns out, neither of us were the ones who needed to be held back. My father strikes swiftly. He jabs a needle into Maries necks. He backs away as soon as he finishes pushing the plunger down, emptying whatever was in the syringe into Marie.

Marie drops to ground screaming. The two warriors that were holding her, try to keep her up, but she becomes dead weight. She falls onto the ground. Marie claws at her neck as she continues to scream.

“What did you give her?” I ask as I can’t take my eyes off the screaming woman.

“A concoction of wolf’s bane, silver powder, and adrenaline,” he says simply.

“Why adrenaline?” Willow asks as she takes a step towards us.

“Speeds up the heart so the wolf’s bane and silver powder are spread throughout her body faster,” he says, his eyes not leaving Marie’s form.

Marie is still screaming, it’s not as loud as it was. She is clawing at her different parts of her body. “Please, make it stop!” Marie pleads as her screams turn to pleas.

I turn to look at my father. He turns to look at me. He states, “There is no cure. It’s in her blood stream, pumped throughout her body. Either she survives long enough for her body to pass it, or someone put’s her out of her misery.”

“Please, you can’t do that to me!” Melissa screams in panic as she watches our mother plead for help. “Sure, I wasn’t the nicest person, but I don’t deserve that.” She tries to back away, but the two warriors hold her fast.

“I only had one syringe,” my father mutters.

“Doctor William, you had no right to exact punishment,” Alison says. “That was her right or her mates.”

“I’m not sorry,” he says as he stands beside me.

‘He took her life for us, so we would not live with the guilt,’ Beren whispers.

‘Thank you, Asa,’ I tell my father’s wolf.

‘Anything for you, pup,’ he growls to me.

“Anything,” my father echos.

“As her father, he had the right to seek justice,” Mark says as his eyes do not leave Marie’s form.

She has stopped making noises. Marie is just laying on the floor, crying silent tears.

“As our Luna’s mates and Alphas, we have decided that we will let Uncle William handle the punishment for Marie,” Cal growls, his arms tightening slightly.

“And Melissa’s punishment?” Zane asks.

“Cal already handled part of her punishment,” I say as my eyes flick to Melissa.

Melissa goes still as all eyes fall on her. “Please, be merciful,” she begs.

“You do not deserve mercy,” Mark growls as he takes a step forward.

“But you will still receive it,” I say hollowly.

“Please, you are my big sister,” she cries.

“It’s funny that you remember that now. That now it matters,” I say.

“If not for me, then for Rose. Show me mercy for her,” Melissa begs, hoping that using my daughter will make her punishment lighter.

“You don’t get to use her!” Mark and Cal yell.

“Enough,” I order sharply.

The room freezes and turns to look at me.

“You hurt me for years. But you gave birth to Rose, and you are my little sister,” I start. “Cal has already left you with lasting scars across your face. You will be branded with silver as a traitor.”

“Please, everyone will see. No one will trust me in the pack,” she cries.

“You will not stay in the pack anymore,” I say simply.

“But you can’t banish me,” Melissa cries. “This is my pack, my home.”

“You committed atrocities against your Luna and sister,” Mark growls.

“Being banished is getting off easy, look at your mother,” Cal says.

“Your options are banishment or Uncle Will can give you the same thing that he gave your mother,” Mark says with a cruel smile.

“Ban-banishment. Please don’t give me what she had,” Melissa pleads.

“Elder Zane, do you have the silver brand?” Cal asks.

“Yes Alpha, I brought it on your instruction,” he says as he steps forward, offering up a wooden box.

Mark pulls out a pair of welding gloves, putting them on. He opens the lock on the box and pulls out the brand, a silver disc that is the size of my fist. That’s all I see before Mark walks over to Melissa.

Melissa tries to back away. Her pleas bleed together into gibberish as she tries to get away.

Mark presses the brand against the side of Melissa’s neck, right where her mate mark should go.

The warriors release Melissa and she falls to the ground, screaming.

“Stop her!” James orders, pointing towards Marie.

Somehow, she has extended her claws, the poison in her body suppose to make it impossible.

Marie digs her claws deeply into her neck, tearing out her own throat.
