Chapter 206 Amalie
Chapter 206 Amalie
“I’ll see you after my appointment,” I say as I kiss Rose on her forehead. I’m going to the hospital to find out what we are having. The twins wanted to go, but I convinced them to wait to find out tomorrow so they would be surprised. I’ve been thinking about how I want to surprise everyone with the results.
Mark is decorating the house with dad, Vickie, and Kira. Cal is going to be heading to the pack house with James and Nick to get pack business done. He is taking Rose with him so she can help Kim in the kitchen. We are then spending the rest of the day at the pack house until Rose falls asleep, so she does not see the decorations.
“Sam and Sarah are here,” Mark says as he walks into the living room.
“Okay, you’ll go with papa to the pack house and I’ll meet you there,” I say as I stand up.
“Ready to go Petal?” Cal asks as he picks up Rose.
We walk towards the front door. Sam and Sarah give Cal a nod as he walks out the door.
“Ready to go Luna?” Sarah asks with a smile.
“As I’ll ever be,” I say nervously.
We exit the house and start the two blocks to the hospital. We get one block away before I turn to Sam. I want to comment on his mate mark on Sarah’s neck and his tattoo from Sarah. But I can comment on that later. Right now, I have something I need to do.
“Sam, I need the information of the Mountain Peak Alpha,” I tell my Gamma.
Sam’s head whips towards me and glares.
“Well, based on that reaction, I’m guessing that the Alpha is trouble,” Sarah chuckles as she walks on my other side.
“His pack has been seven generations of trouble,” Sam growls.
“He might side with Devin and cause more trouble,” I point out.
“Do I want to know how you know that?” the witch asks.
“The twins and Alpha Harold talked about him again on Monday,” I tell them.
With a sigh, he pulls out his phone. He types a few things and then Sam hands me his phone. “If Mark and Cal ask, we know nothing about this,” he tells us.
I nod as I take the phone. I hit the green button and dial the number. I don’t question how Sam had his number.
“This had better be good, pup,” a voice croaks through the phone.
“Alpha, sir, this is Luna Amalie of the Moonstone Pack,” I say, explaining who I am.
“Ah, the white wolf,” he laughs. His voice becomes distant, as if he is holding the phone away from his ear, “No, pumpkin. I need to take this before we can play.”
“Yes, Alpha,” I tell him.
“What does the white wolf need from me?” he asks me.
“Sir, former Alpha Devin may want you to join him to attack our pack,” I say quickly, getting to the point.
“You pups, squabbling over the mundane,” he sighs. “With all the respect to you being a white wolf, but I’m too old to be going to war for petty reasons.”
“But that doesn’t mean your successor won’t,” I point out.
“Not my grandson, his mate just gave birth to their second pup and his first is five. He wants peace and quiet,” he tells me.
“You will stay out of it?” I ask, hopeful.
“Yes, yes. And don’t think that I don’t know that Alpha Harold is behind pointing fingers in my direction. Tell him that my son got himself killed for his radical beliefs. We want peace,” he scoffs at me.
“That is all that we want to. I’m expecting my own pup in a few months, and I don’t want to be at war,” I tell him. I catch Sam’s disapproving look. We had all agreed that I would not tell anyone outside of our pack. But I feel that, the old Alpha deserves to know.
“Congratulations, pup,” he tells me with a laugh.
“I’m on my way to see my father and find out what I am having,” I tell him.
“Then may the goddess bless you with a strong Alpha,” he tells me.
“Thank you, Alpha,” I reply.
“Micah. My name is Micah. I would like my ally to know my name,” Alpha Micah tells me.
“Thank you, Alpha Micah,” I thank him. I’m shocked that he wants to form an alliance after just telling me he wanted to stay out of conflicts. But I’m not going to turn down his support.
“I’ll talk with my grandson about the details, but we would be honored to form an alliance with you,” he tells me, the sincerity bleeding through.
“We would very much appreciate it. If you know of anyone else who might be interested in an alliance, please have them get in touch with my mates,” I ask him.
“No, I will have them get in touch with you,” he tells me.
“Why me?” I ask.
“Because you reached out, and you are the white wolf,” Alpha Micah tells me before a voice cuts in.
“Grandpa, you promised,” a tiny whine says.
“I gotta go Luna,” he tells me. “But be sure to tell that Alpha to update his Rolodex on where we side.” Before I can comment, he cuts the phone call.
“You,” Sam says, somewhere between affectionate and exasperated.
“Well, that is one less enemy,” Sarah chuckles with a shake of her head as we enter the hospital.
“What is a Rolodex?” I ask as I look at the two.
“Ah, my favorite granddaughter,” Gretchen laughs as she walks towards us, interrupting our conversation.
“Hi grandma,” I say as I wrap her in a hug. I will figure it out later.
“Let’s go find out what we are having,” she says as she guides me to an exam room.
“Do you want us in there?” Sarah asks as Sam starts to fidget.
“No,” I laugh slightly. “Grandma and my father are going to be in there with me. You two can wait out here.”
I am nervous, but I had talked with the twins about doing this without them so they could be excited. My father had overheard and been excited to keep the secret as well. He showed me a small box where we would hide the ultrasound picture for tomorrow.
“Okay, darling,” my father says as he strolls into the exam room. “Let’s get another look at our grandpup.”
