Forty Seven
After they ate, Lennox took a breather outside the hospital. He just stood outside while looking at the passing cars. He frowned when he saw the hospital guard bowing. He thought that he had fallen asleep, but he heard him sobbing softly, so he immediately approached him.
"Are you okay?" he asked as he patted the man's back with concern.
He sat up and wiped his face with his hand while looking at her. Its nose and eyes are red.
"I'm sorry doc Lennox. I'm just going through something right now. That's why I couldn't handle the sadness, I just cried a lot," the man answered.
"Why? What's wrong with you?" asked Lennox.
"My three children got sick at the same time. Besides, I still have a lot of debt so I couldn't buy them medicine and delicious food. I didn't admit them here because we didn't have the money to pay. I just felt sorry for them because they were still young. three," answered the man shaking his head.
"Why did you come in? Someone else must be on duty now. Go ahead, go home first and get them all admitted and I'll take care of your bill here at the hospital," he ordered the guard.
"Doctor Lennox?" the man's face brightened as he looked at her.
"Of course. I'm not joking. You call someone else to replace you here at your agency. So you don't get into trouble," he answered.
"Thank you very much," he said and immediately left the place and got dressed.
He is back in the hospital because he has a cold. He gets a message from Dionne. She said she was going to sleep and he would be careful. He frowned when he didn't receive the message he was expecting, but he grinned too wide at the final text messages. Of course, he replied. He was silent because he was different when he loved everyone. He was shaking as he entered his office. He lay down on the couch and before that, he locked the door so he wouldn't be disturbed. He has nothing to do, maybe tomorrow he will finish what he is doing. After a few hours, he was so distracted that he woke up when he heard a loud knock on the door. So he immediately got up and opened the door. And he saw a male nurse.
"Doc, Miguel is looking for you," he said.
"Who is Miguel?" asked Lennox.
"The guard here at the hospital," he answered.
He also got what he said right away. So he immediately took the nurse to the emergency room. When he got there he saw the guard with his son. He saw the three children lying in the hospital bed with very lethargic faces. He fell asleep thinking about the situation of the three children.
"Check on them, please," he ordered the three nurses inside the emergency room.
So the three immediately approached the children and looked at them. He, on the other hand, faced the couple who both had tears in their eyes.
"When in this situation, the children will be admitted immediately. Don't use the lack of money as a reason because that can be done. Every problem has a solution. They are children, so their immune system is weak against illness. We can't handle it when we are very sick. already. Is it still them?" Lennox's reaction to this couple.
They just bowed and no one wanted to speak. He was looking at the nurses who checked.
"What findings?" asked Lennox.
"These children have dengue, Doctor. It's a good thing they were brought here right away," answered the male nurse.
Lennox just closed his eyes and looked at the two who were bent down and sad for the children.
"Okay. Treat them. And then keep a close eye on them so we can find out," Lennox said and said goodbye to go out.
He didn't realize that Miguel had followed him.
"Doctor Lennox? Will my children get better?" asked the man.
"Yes. When their bodies can handle the medication. You pray and ask for guidance that they will get well soon. Where do you live now? Dengue is contracted in dirty environments," answered Lennox.
Miguel sighed as he looked at him.
"We only live in the squatter area. Besides, we didn't have a good life there," answered Miguel.
"Life is hard, Miguel. We all know that, but the health of our children should come first. They should not be allowed to get sick because we will be the ones who will cause problems when they all get sick. You can buy a house in a subdivision that is clean and it's good for your family to be comfortable," Lennox said.
"We don't have the money to buy yet, Doc Lennox. That exclusive subdivision is expensive. That's why we're just putting up with it," Miguel answered.
"I'll take care of that, Miguel. I'll take care of you so that when your children get better, they won't get sick. Besides, there's a house for sale nearby so they can live together like a neighbor,” Lennox said.
"Thank you very much, Doc. Your payment of the hospital bill will be a big help to my husband and me. And even more so if you give us a house. I don't know when I will be able to pay you back," answered Miguel shaking his head.
"The help is unpaid, Miguel. Just think that it's God's grace that came to you today," Lennox said with a smile.
"Thank you very much," replied Miguel and hugged him very tightly.
He took Miguel to his office and rested there. He took money from his wallet and gave it to him.
"Tomorrow morning I will be out of work. I want you to buy good food for the children and buy them proper clothes and equipment. And anything else to facilitate their recovery. And then fix I'll pay for the house you'll be moving into first, Miguel. I don't want you to be ashamed of me, I just want your family life to be okay because it's okay if it's just you but you have children, and they get sick in a dirty environment. Get out tomorrow your wife will go shopping at the mall," Lennox said then gave the money.
"It's too big, Doctor," answered Miguel.
"In this day, you need to have money to use, Miguel. Take it and don't be shy," Lennox answered with a smile.
