Chapter 35 HAIL THE GREAT MASTER
Althea turned away from her brother to go and give Alba a hug but once Alba noticed that she was coming towards their direction he held Mahina’s hand and led her away from there to the dancing ground. He bowed to Mahina with a playfully smile playing on his lips before he took her hand in his. He smirked as he kissed her hand lightly like a butterfly's soft touch. As they were staring into each other's eyes Alba drew Mahina into his arms as they danced together.
Ford and Dora also turned away from her seeing that she was walking back to their direction. Althea walked fast to meet her brother. She was feeling jealous and angry as she approached her brother. Then in the next second she started ranting to him:
“Are you seriously walking away from me because of that thing with you?” Dora’s eye shot wide open at Althea’s remark.
“You are crazy Thea! Who do you think you are here that you think you can order people around and insult them? Do you think that because of your title you can do as you wish and still go unscathed. Do you think we don’t see all your wicked antics? Well, no wonder you don’t have any friends here.... sister.”
Ford walked away from there with Dora. Even though Dora wanted to teach Althea a lesson at that moment, after all that Ford said, she just pitied her. Dora turned to look at Ford and asked him:
“Don’t you think that was too much?”
“No! You don’t know my sister! She is a walking disaster... and a spoilt brat for that matter”
Althea was left alone among the crowd. Axel was dancing with his female friend on the dancing ground, same as Ford and Dora, Alba and Mahina. Arlo was nowhere to be seen, after their conversation with Althea. He had excused himself from the hall earlier.
Althea felt left out as she watched her friends and brother danced happily with their plus one. She tried to put up a smile, but she failed miserably. So many men asked her to dance but she rejected them all. When she could no longer take the humiliation she felt, she hurriedly left the party.
After Arlo left the party, he went to the pub at the hotel. Arlo drank a special kind of wine (Hiki) to his heart content at the pub before he stood up to go his room. He clumsily walked through the corridor leading to his room, when he saw a group of girls. Their face lightened up at the sight of him. They were excited to see him and were running hurriedly to get to him. Arlo noticed that they were approaching him, so he quickly entered a random room close by and closed the door. He fell to the ground and groaned:
“Shit! Just my luck.” He was feeling hazy and dizzy. He rested his head on the wall and tried to regain his mind, but the wine was strong.
Arlo looked around the place carefully even though his vision was blurry. He could tell that the room was empty, but he was certain that the owner of the room was just around the corner. He needed to leave the room and fast, but he was clueless as how to escape the group of girls that were still outside. In his intoxicated state, he closed his eyes and tried to listen if there was anyone close by or not. Arlo tried to concentrate on his senses, but he couldn’t he was too drunk to use his abilities. He stood up and artfully checked outside and saw that the girls were still there. He closed the door and sat on the floor disappointed.
Arlo fell asleep on the ground in the strange room. While he was asleep the door creaked open, and a tall handsome man entered. Arlo was still asleep on the ground. He didn’t hear when anyone entered the room. The man knelt on one knee and looked closely at the man lying on the floor of his room. He smirked at the realization of who the man was. He realized that Arlo must have entered his room because of the army of girls outside his room. He carried the petit man in his arms and laid him on the bed. Once Arlo’s body touched the bed he relaxed and continued sleeping soundly.
The estrange man sat at the edge of the bed and took off Arlo’s shoes and stockings. He loosened his belt and took off his tuxedo trouser and coat. He removed his tie and shirt so that he would be comfortable and sleep properly. Once Arlo felt comfortable, he snuggled in the duvet and continued sleeping.
The estrange man continued looking at Arlo for quite some time. He felt his pinkish cheeks with his fingers and smiled:
“I used to think that it was too much make-up on his face that made him so cute but damn it mehn. This man is too cute for his own good.” The strange man remarked.
He stood up and went into the bathroom for a quick shower. He finished in no time, and he was back to the room. He wore simple clothes and laid next to Arlo and soon he drifted off to sleep as well.
Alba held Mahina’s hands and led her to the celebrant of the occasion. When they stood in front of the man Alba introduced Mahina to the man with a smile:
“Mahina, I would like you to meet Veer Alfonso. He is the writer of many of my favorite's literature works. He is also a producer and a film maker.”
Mahina raised her eyes and looked at the man closely. He was tall dark and very handsome but not as handsome as Alba. He was more like Arlo's kind of handsome. he was cute and he looked soft and delicate. His eyes immediately reminded her of Dora. He also had violet eyes. They were beautiful and so was his calm Aura. Mahina smiled at the man and spoke.
“It’s an honor to be acquainted with you Mister Veer.” Mahina answered him with her sweet voice with so much grace in all her gestures.
“The pleasure is all mine Beauty” The man answered, and Mahina smiled at him warmly.
“Mahina, I told this kind gentle man about the launching of the Elites Media blog which will be headed by you, and he was very excited, he wants you to personally interview him and write an article about him.”
Mahina swallowed hard, she was nervous as she raised her eyes to look at Alba because no one told her about a blog. She looked at him puzzled but Alba just wrapped his arm around her waist. ‘Maybe he wants me to play along’ Mahina suggested to herself. So, she played along and acted like she was aware of it.
“Mister Veer I can’t wait to interview you. It will be my honor.” Mister Veer led them to his table so that they could talk further. They sat in front of a round table with their plus one as they continued talking about matters that was of no importance to Mahina and the other lady there. When they were done talking, they went away from there. As they were walking Alba spoke:
“It looks like all our friends left us behind. We should be on our way as well.”
“Mmhmm.” She nodded at Alba’s suggestion.
They left the hotel and entered the car that just parked in front of the entrance together. As the car was moving Alba turned to Mahina and said:
“The talk with Mahina Reyes’ is a blog I set up myself while we were in Florida. It’s what will make you famous in no time. Your journalism work is perfect but just working with a media house without setting up your own foundation is not enough. Mister Alfonso is a media legend. Everyone knows about him and talks about him except that just like me he doesn’t show up frequently in public events. Therefor people don’t know much about him and that’s what you will be selling, information about him. Not incriminating ones though. Just the ones that people are curious about. His lifestyle, his girlfriend, the cars he drives, the food loves, his fashion choices and so on.
The platform will be for anything that interest you actually, but you need to use a lure for your audience to grow and to keep coming. The lure are people like me, Arlo, Axel, Ford and so on. Of course, you need to be going to work while you are at it but that won’t be frequently because you are already working…”
Mahina nodded and yawned. Alba turned and looked at her sleepy eyes. He then placed his hand on her waist and drew her closer to him. She raised her eyes to look at him rebelliously. But she was too exhausted and hadn’t the power to start arguing with him about wanting to be on her own. So, she laid her head against his body and drifted off to sleep. Alba rested his head on the head rest and closed his eyes. After a while the driver spoke:
“We have arrived Master.”
He opened his eyes, and they were glowing emerald, green. He picked Mahina effortlessly in his arms and went into the mansion with her. Then he took her to her bedroom. He laid her on her bed and pulled her zipper down. He helped her out of her tight dress gently, in order not to wake her up and for her own comfortability. When he was done, he covered her body with her duvet and left the room. His eyes were still glowing. All the servants working in the house fell on their knees at the sight of his glowing eyes and kept chanting repeatedly:
“Hail the great master!”
