Chapter 34 HERE COMES THE TROUBLE
Mahina finished all her work a bit late. So, she was rushing to get home before her curfew. She arranged her desk and ran out of the building after passing through the endless security protocols of the company. She got into the first cab she could stop. She fastened her seat belt as she was telling the driver where to drop her off.
“I am dropping off at the Crescent Villa. Let’s go I am already late.” The man turned and looked at her then he said.
“Then! Whoever is waiting for you would have to wait for a long time” Mahina raised her eyes to look at the man scared. The man could see her fear, he sighed and answered:
“Well because there’s hold up on the way up there!” she lets out a sigh of relief:
“Oh man! no problem just take-off already.” Mahina relaxed as the man drove off with her. After spending some time on the road because of the traffic the driver finally arrived at Mahina’s destination. He dropped her off some distance away from Alba’s mansion. Mahina waited for the driver to drive away before she went on her way. She didn’t want the media knowing about Alba’s home or that she was living with him. Mahina ran home. She arrived at the mansion panting from exhaustion. The maid that dressed her earlier ran to where she was standing and panting:
“You are late Miss Mahina. Come with me I need to dress you up before Master Alba comes out and sees that you are not ready yet. He wouldn’t be pleased at all. Although you will be going to the events in separate cars because of the media, even at that he doesn’t like being kept waiting.” She dragged her into the elevator, and they went straight up to her room. The maid didn’t wait for Mahina to settle. She started taking off her clothes one after the other, until she was standing naked, she dragged her into the bathroom and made her seat in the bathtub. She bowed a little before her and said:
“You go on and take your bath miss Mahina my lady, I will set your clothes and jewelry ready. By the way I think Alba just left the mansion now, so please hurry he will be expecting that your car is right behind his. He will be crestfallen if he realizes you are not behind him, and I will be doomed” the maid ran out of the bathroom and brought out the designer clothes in a clothes trolley. She kept it by the side of the dresser and laid out the jewelries Mahina was to wear for the occasion.
Mahina did as she was instructed and quickly left the bathroom area. When Mahina came into the room, she saw that there were two other maids. The one who was initially attending to her explained:
“Please don’t be alarm they are here to help. April here will style your hair while Jericho does you make up. I will dress you up and make sure you are looking like a princess.” Mahina smiled and allowed them to do their job. The feeling of being dressed by another wasn’t new to Mahina since she used to be a model for her uncle’s brand in the past.
In no time Mahina’s hair and make-up were done. She was looking like a fairy. Mahina was already a beauty, so Jericho didn’t have to do too much. She just highlighted her features. It was a natural make-up that Jericho did for her. Even Mahina was surprised at how beautiful she was looking. Mahina turned to the other maid that was attending to her earlier and said:
“You have been attending to me since I arrived here, but you have never told me your name.” she smiled at Mahina for the first time and said:
“Call me Aya!” she giggled.
“I am ready Aya!”
“Alright!” Aya helped her up from the stool she was seated on in front of the dresser. They all helped her to wear the beautiful maroon, red gown. The gown was sparkly and sleeveless. It held her tightly from her bust down to her waist. From the waist down, the gown was spread out beautifully. It had a slit from her thigh downwards. Mahina’s beautiful thigh could be seen with every move she made. Aya looked at Mahina from head to toe and nodded in satisfaction. She led her out of the building and made sure she was comfortably seated first before she sends her off.
Mahina arrived at the venue. She went straight to where the event was playing out and looked around for Alba. Her eyes couldn’t see him because of her nervousness. She was lost and hadn’t the slightest idea what to do. When she suddenly heard a voice behind her:
“It sure took you long enough to get here my princess!” she smiled at him, and he smiled back at her. Alba’s heart skipped a beat at the sight of Mahina. She was so beautiful, and it wasn’t like it was his first time seeing a beauty. Alba has been acquainted with many beautiful women in the past, but Mahina was different she was pristine in everything she does. Her beauty emanated from inside out. She was humble like the moon and fair hearted like the moon. She was so enchanting without even putting an effort. As they walked further into the hall. The camera men from different media houses continued taking their pictures until they were among the crowd of people there.
“Ford came to where they were standing and took Mahina’s hand in his and kissed her hand.
"Wow Mahina you dressed up pretty well like a princess.” He smiled at her and turned to see Alba’s jealous glare:
“Where is Dora? You discourteous wimp”
“I didn’t bother going to get her because she might do something crazy… who knows she might bury me alive or something. As it is she is already angry at me for something I don’t know about. Even if I know about it, I can assure you it wasn’t my fault.” Alba sighed and asked:
“And where is Arlo?”
“He insisted on bringing her here so the two of them are on their way here by now I suppose.”
Alba wagged his head at Ford’s explanation and said:
“Once he arrives here, you have to be her plus one, if not the paparazzi will think she is his girlfriend, and you know he is with the entertainment industry. They wouldn’t let her be after this.”
“Fine I suppose I don’t mind since Mahina is here. She wouldn’t threaten me in front of Mahina, or would she?”
He raised his brow questionably at Mahina, but Mahina just smiled at him. she thought he was a funny man and also a kind one. Although she understood what he said about Dora because she was definitely capable of doing all he just accused her of. He must have studied her well for him to know all that. She thought to herself. He smirked at Alba and went out to get her, as he just felt their presence.”
On his way going there he bumped into Arlo. He raised his browse at Arlo questionably and asked:
“If you are here. Then where is she?” Arlo turned to look behind him and Ford followed his line of sight. Ford caught sight of Dora in a black sequin mermaid dress with One shoulder and a tulle side split. He couldn't look away, not even for a second. His eyes were trapped at her sight. Ford was speechless. He left Arlo behind and went to meet her. He took her hand in his and kissed her softly. Then he smiled at her. Dora took her eyes away from him unsmiling. She was definitely still angry at him; that much he could tell. He led her into the hall silently without saying a word to her. When suddenly she spoke:
“Do I look like a doll? Arlo dressed me up and I think he went a little overboard.”
Ford gulped nervously before he replied to her:
“You look beautiful Dora!” she smiled at him as they entered the hall.
Arlo was still behind making a phone call. When he was done and was about to enter. Someone intertwines their hand with his. He turned to look at the person, and it was Althea. He creased his brow angrily and said:
“What the hell do you think you are doing Althea!” she smiled at him and answered:
“I am following my plus one of cause” she winked at him as they were walking. He answered her with annoyance:
“You must be crazy!”
“Yeah, you are right! I am because I am walking with a fagot like yourself. When are you getting my task done?” she asked. Arlo was so pissed off; he was holding himself together from beating her up.
“Don’t think I am joking. Why do you think I am here? I have pictures of you and if I don’t see any determination in you today. This will be everywhere.”
“Give us until tomorrow. It will be done. We were trying to gain their trust before our major attack but since you are desperate it’s okay. Tomorrow will do.” She smirked at him as they entered among the crowd. She left Arlo and went to hug Ford:
“Brother!” Ford smiled at her and asked:
“Thea even I your brother know you are trouble, so what exactly are you doing here?”
