CHAPTER 33 Doc, where is the patient in Ward No. 2

Three days passed, Jack was still unresponsive. In these three days, Stephanie helped clean his body every day. She talked to him, though unilateral, about their past memories. Sometimes, she even brought the baby with her. However, Jack was like dead, not moving for even an inch.

"I've been talking for so long, but you are not saying anything." Stephanie smiled painfully and kissed his lips. "Now I'm going out to shop. Since you are not willing to get up, I shall leave you here alone."

In fact, Jack was not the only one alone. Isn't Stephanie lonely at the bottom of her heart? Compared with Jack who was lying there in ignorance, Stephanie obviously had more responsibility to take.

After packing some of her belongings, she went out to shop some daily necessities. Though the hospital could provide virtually anything, Stephanie knew that Jack was especially stubborn with some of his things. For example, He used only one brand of razor. Speaking of razor, Stephanie was confused about why Jack's beard was growing so fast even he was in coma. For several times his beard nearly scratched her face.

Jack looked so handsome even with beard. Sometimes, she would stare at his beard in a daze, guessing if that's what Jack would be like in his middle-age. Eventually, she would find her thoughts amusing.

Having bought what she needed in the closest shop, she rushed back at her full speed. Surprisingly, what awaited her back there was an empty bed. The things in her hands instantly dropped to the ground.

In fear and concern, she slowly walked out of the ward. What first came up to her mind was that something went wrong with Jack. The doctor once said that a person in PVS would live for long in most cases, but there were exceptions of quick deaths. She feared that was what happened on Jack and she went find the doctor on duty in a hurry.

The goddess of luck was on her side this time. The doctor was not far away. She walked to him hastily and asked, "Doc, where is the patient in ward No. 22?"

The doctor was perplexed. "Is there anything wrong? I checked No. 22 not long ago."

If something went wrong on Jack, the doctor should know that. While she was feeling a bit relieved, she turned anxious too. "I just came back from outside and found the ward to be empty."

"That's not possible!" The doctor refused firmly. In doubt, he went to the ward with Stephanie. There was indeed no one inside.

The doctor immediately sent people to search. Stephanie joined too and she was in charge of the outdoor areas.

It was a rare sunny day in the rainy season. The sunlight was adorable, but Stephanie had no time to enjoy. She asked the passers-by with a photo of Jack on her phone, but failed to gain any information useful. Somehow, she had left the hospital and reached a park outside, in which she was stunned by what she saw.

She had been there so she knew what it was like before, but it was now somehow paved with lovely roses.

She presumed that it was prepared by someone planning on a romantic love profession. She looked around and found there to be many other people like her who stopped by being attracted by the scene, but she didn't see Jack.

After ensuring that Jack was not present, the beautiful flowers no longer appealed to her. She continued her search for Jack, but no one could give her a satisfactory answer. She gradually fell into despair.

Why could a living man just disappear like that? He could not even think! She suddenly found herself naïve. Jack could not even move on his own, so there must be someone who took him away. Liz, however, was in jail now, and how could there be someone other than her?

She became more and more anxious. She had been inquiring around for a while. If Jack was taken by someone else, his face might have not been seen. What if it was his foe? Being scared by her fantasies, she decided to went back and discuss with the hospital staff. On her way, she passed by the rose sea again, which had attracted even more people by that time.

She had no time to stop by, but her sixth sense drove her look at the figure deep in that rose sea. There must be a mysterious bond between them.

At the first glance, Stephanie could only tell that it was someone she knew. As the figure approached, she found the figure to be so familiar and her sight became blurred by tears. At some moment, she felt like she saw that little smile on Jack's perfect face.
