223: What Is That Sound?!

**Alasia's POV: **

What makes him say it that way? I could not help the feelings that I was feeling in the center of my chest, being pressed up next to his hard chest. I closed my eyes, and he adjusted my position in his arms. I turned into him, not even caring about the fact that the simple cloth I was covered with was starting to uncover me from the side away from him, the side facing the door.

At that point, I didn't really care. Well, I cared, but not to the point of it bothering me at that point when I was right up next to his stone-hard chest. I started to close my eyes as I could feel the warmth from him starting to pierce my own flesh. It was a feeling I had never felt before and one that I did not want to pass on lightly.

To be back in the arms of my mate, Rameric, Alpha Caine, I could not believe it. I had to open up my eyes and look at him. He was still standing there in the center of the room, patiently waiting for me to be ready to leave this room. This is the room where I first met his wolf, well, the mate of my wolf, Amora. Wow, that was even a realization all in itself. It was like I was taking all this in for the very first time.

"That is because you are," Rameric told me as I looked up at him, shock filling my eyes.

"How did you know?" I asked, not even realizing the reality of what had just happened yet.

He smirked at me again, raising that one corner of his mouth when he opened his mouth to speak but then closed it suddenly when he looked away from me. When I looked up to meet his eyes, his eyes were not on me. I suddenly felt sad but then heard a vibration that started deep in the back of his throat. Wait, was he growling?! Why would he be growling?

Suddenly, there was a feeling that ran up my spine as I felt a chill deep within my chest. My head spun around to face the door that was still closed. Somehow, I knew something, or more like someone, was coming to this very room. I was not sure what or who it could be, but Rameric knew it all too well that they were heading this way.

My thoughts began to betray me when I thought the worst thing it could be. '*You don't think Vladic was the one coming for me, do you?*' I wondered to myself, not even thinking that my mate, Rameric, could read my actual thoughts.

"No, it's not him," Rameric said as his expression changed from a protective one to a sad one.

He even furrowed his eyebrows when I asked, "Why are you upset?"

That is when I heard that growl that was deep in his throat change. When it changed, it changed into something I did not expect it to change into, and that was a soft whimper. Wait, what is going on? Suddenly, I heard a shrill howl coming from the corridor outside the very room we were standing in. With that, it also sounded like something crashed into something else, causing it to break into many pieces.

"What is that sound?!" I asked as I turned to look back up at Rameric.

He looked down at me, and when he started to speak, I heard the sound of a dog fighting right outside the door. I looked frantic at that moment, looking from the door and back to Rameric, when I nearly shouted at him, "What is going on?"

"That is, ..." Rameric started to say when the doors came crashing down and breaking off the hinges when they split and hit the floor with a big crashing sound.

We both turned to look toward the door and saw several men standing there, trying to contain a younger wolf. This wolf was not nearly as big as Riot or Rager. For that fact, this one wolf was about half the size and quite upset by the looks of him. The men holding him were standing there with their arms wrapped around its poor neck as it was trying to get closer to us, little by little.

'*The poor thing, what is wrong with it?*' I thought to myself. '*Why did it come here*?'

'*Release him*,' I heard Rameric's voice resound within my own head that time.

I turned to look at Rameric, and even more shock showed across my face. '*Did I just hear you*?!' "Why did I hear you inside my head?!" I asked openly. "And how?"

"That is the Mate Bond taking full effect. I thought I was going to have to teach you how to do that, but as it turns out. You are more powerful than you know," Rameric said as he looked up at the wolf being constrained by the men who were still at the door.

"But Alpha Caine!" One of the men shouted under strain. "He is trying to get to you. He even broke down the door!"

"He will not harm us," Rameric said as he looked down at me, knowing I wanted to know who that was. "That is her brother, Brazen. He will not harm us."

What did he say!? Rameric was harder when he said that last statement, but he was still just as gentle, holding me in his arms. "Let him go."

"Yes, Alpha Caine," the men said at the same time, and they released the wolf, who collapsed there on the floor under his own weight.

I turned to look at the wolf and could not believe that it was my little brother. How could Brazen know how to change into a wolf? And at his age, too?! I had a cold sensation that started to make itself known deep in the center of my chest. I looked back at the young wolf lying there after it was released from the men who were holding him back.

He didn't bother to move. If that was Brazen, I wanted to get closer to him, comfort him. Just then, Rameric took a step closer to him, and I turned to look at Rameric as I was confused. He looked down at me with those glowing yellowish-burning eyes and smiled at me again.

I closed my eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath, when I realized it was the bond. He knew what I wanted because of the bond we now shared. When I turned to look back at my brother's wolf, he was still lying on the floor, shaking all over. I could not help it when tears started to fill my eyes. However, this time, my mate, Rameric, did not take them away from me.

I turned to look at my mate, and he looked down at me when I heard his voice inside my head again. This time he told me, '*These belong to you this time*.'

I could feel my eyes swelling with tears this time.
