Chapter 215: This Will Help!
**Rameric's POV:**
I’ll show her. I know what will help her, at least, I hope it will. I got up off the side of the padded slumber, as I was sitting there beside her. I had one hand placed on the opposite side of her, pressing into the material. I took a deep breath before I rose to my feet. When I looked over at Raiven, he nodded back at me. I knew he was giving me the approval I needed. He was letting me know that this was the right decision to make.
I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner. Well, to be honest, I knew exactly why. It was due to the fact that I wanted to wait for the Moon High Muster. That was also the same time I was going to celebrate my Day of Remembrance as I would be turning my 125th year. It was all set to take place next month and I wanted to do it during that celebration. It was to be a grand celebration at that. If only I hadn't been such a fool by making her wait, as I knew I couldn’t wait any longer.
Actually, she was the one who couldn’t wait any longer for me to do this! I needed to help her, and this was the only way I knew how. I needed to mark my mate! I needed to make our bond complete. I knew the initial Mate Bond was strong, but I only wish I had acted upon it and done what I should have done before things got this bad.
I knew I needed to mark her, to allow her to be bonded with me, once and for all! We *both* needed this to happen. If everything Ergo and Basil said was true, about what they heard Vladic say in the carriage the day he forced her to stab me, then I should not have waited this long. I knew right then that this was the only decision that was necessary! This was the only decision I should have made before it got to this point.
I felt anger and rage rise up against myself for being so foolish and neglecting to do this sooner. By not being the one who bonded with my mate before it came to this! I was extremely dissatisfied with myself. I should have known better than stalling what was going to eventually happen!
Being in my position as Alpha of my very own werewolf pack, I should have known that my enemies would try and pull a stunt like this one. Nothing was going to keep them from trying to come against me. I don’t know why I didn’t think of doing this sooner. I thought of marking her before now, but decided not to as that as it was not one of the leading factors in making that decision. I don't know why I didn't think that they could have possibly used my weakened mate against me. I was trying to do everything properly, as I was taught.
To have a mate bonded to you is no light task to complete! It is something that is to be celebrated with the entire pack. Considering the fact that we weren't bonded yet, I made a foolish decision, by allowing her to be placed in this position. If only I had thought about it sooner, then I would have known that she was in danger! I would’ve known she was being injured and in pain. I would have been able to get to her sooner, to rescue her before the point where it became drastic! Hell, if I had known, she never would have been placed in that position in the first place!!
I needed to calm down and get a grip on my emotions before I let my anger get the better of me. I knew what I needed to do from this point on. I knew my mistake by what happened due to not being bonded with her sooner. I would have to make up for it, but it would only work if she were alive with me, and I could not wait any longer. This should never have happened! I cannot believe I was so foolish to wait this long!
I walked around to the end of my padded slumber and leaned forward, placing both of my hands on the end. I was positioned right below where her feet were lying there, all wrapped up. Rager even started whimpering in the depths of my throat as he saw our mate lying there in total emotional distress. I cannot believe I was the one that caused this. When I glanced over at Raiven, for a moment, I could tell he was even saddened by her current condition.
Well, no time like the present to get going with what I needed to do. I slowly crawled up the padded slumber, making my way up her body as I positioned my hands on either side of her. The last thing that I wanted was for her body to flail when I marked her. I knew this would be considered to be a painful thing. However, I also wanted her to know that when I marked her, even though it was painful, I would be the one to take her pain away.
Being marked by your mate meant that I could take all her pain within myself to where she could just get the rest that she needed. Therefore, she would not have to worry about trying to get better, but just rest as I would help heal her in that manner. Then even her wolf could heal, as Rager would help with that as well. I knew he wanted to see his wolf mate, Amora, again, just as much as I wanted Alasia to be alright. I did not know if her wolf was strong or what condition her wolf was in as to the condition of my mate. I just knew that she was frail and needed me right then.
"Alasia," I called out to her softly as I made my way halfway up her body by this point. "If you are able to look at me, I want you to know that you are my *true* mate. I am right here with you and I need to tell you something."
She continued crying uncontrollably as I slowly made my way up her body a little further. Her hands were still covering her face, and I could see her delicate wrists were still raw from the chains she was bound by. Rager had to control himself, as I knew he wanted to growl at seeing her in this condition. It's a good thing we knew she needed us more than he needed to vent his anger at that moment.
"Alasia, my mate, please look at me," I called out softly once more, hoping she would look at me this time.
She sniffled a few times as she attempted to regain control over herself. After another moment, she maneuvered her hands away from her face, relaxing them beside the sides of her head, lying on top of the pillow. This time I was positioned right above her abdomen as I was getting closer to her face.
She sniffled several more times when she wiped her tears away from her eyes. Raiven walked around this side of my padded slumber, handing me a small dry cloth. I adjusted my weight to one side, resting on my elbow and reaching up toward her face with the cloth in hand. It broke my heart, and I felt a pain deep in my chest as she jumped when my hand and cloth came in contact with her tears soaked skin.
