Chapter 214: Too Many Tricks!

**Alasia's POV:**

Who was sitting right next to me!? There is no way this is possible. This can't be happening. There are too many tricks going on inside my mind for this to be real right now. My senses were sent into overdrive, and I didn't exactly know what to do. There is no way possible that my mate is sitting here right next to me! This is pathetic!

Right then, I tried to fight the tears as I could not believe my eyes. I knew this wasn't real, but why was my mind playing this horrible trick on me? Something had to be done about this, but I didn't know what to do. I couldn't run away. I had no strength to even move. I could barely even move my own neck to look away.

I forced my arms up to where I could cover my face with my hands as I tried to cover my eyes. I had to block the vision even though my eyes were open. I had the ability to close my eyes, but I didn't want to. I so badly wanted it to be him, but I didn't believe that it was him. It couldn't be him. He was dead! I had killed him! There's no way that he was actually sitting there, right next to me. There's no way possible.

"Alasia, please, look at me!" I heard that soft voice ask me.

"Please!" I demanded openly as I fought myself. I was trying to get these words out, but I did not know if they would be audible, but I certainly tried. "Please do not speak to me! I simply can not hear your voice. You are not here! You are not real. I know you're not here. I know you're just a trick of my mind. There's no way possible that you are here right now. You are just a ghost, sent to haunt my thoughts of the horrible deed that I did to you."

At that moment, I was crying uncontrollably when I said those words to whoever this was sitting there beside me. I was so full of emotion, so full of pain and frustration that I couldn't contain myself anymore past this point. I couldn't contain the pain I felt in my chest when I saw him sitting there next to me. And I knew it wasn't real! I knew it was not him. This figure was just a figment of my imagination.

This was some trick that my mind was playing on me. The worst possible trick it could ever do to me! To show me that my mate was actually here, sitting right next to me on this, whatever this thing was that I was lying on. The fact that he was here beside me, I did not want to believe that!

What was I going to do with myself? How was I going to manage going forward from now on?! I couldn't contain my frustration. I couldn't contain my emotions. I couldn't even contain the fact that I was crying. Uncontrollably, in fact, I just had to cover my face and try to look away. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to say!

"Please, Alasia, look at me. Please, you are my mate. This is no trick. I want you to know that I am right here! I am not gone, you didn't kill me. I am alive and well. Please just look at me and you will see for yourself!"

"No, that is not possible! You are not here, it's *not* possible. I know that I killed you! I saw it with my own eyes before I was taken away from you. I stabbed you in the heart. I saw the blood. My hands were covered in *your* blood! I stabbed you in the chest. I was forced to do it, but it was still *me* who stabbed you nonetheless!" I cried out as I covered my face.

Then I took a breath as I continued to speak, crying out loud, saying, "There's no possible way you are here right now. I couldn't believe what I did. I'm so sorry Rameric! I'm just so sorry, and I know that you're not here with me. If only I had been stronger. If only I was better at controlling my actions, I could have prevented this. If only you had marked me sooner. I wouldn't have been placed in this situation."

"Is now a good time?" I heard Rameric's ghost ask openly, but I wasn't so sure who he was speaking to.

There it is. I knew it. I knew that he wasn't real! I knew that he wasn't alive. I knew this was just a trick my mind was trying to get over on me. One last attempt to hurt me before I did officially die. I knew this was not possible. This entire conversation was happening inside my mind! I cried even harder, covering my face once more as I tried to block out the sight of Rameric beside me, even though I knew it wasn't really him.

"Now is a good time as any, brother," I heard somebody else speak this time.

Wait, who was he speaking to? Did I recognize that voice, too? It belonged to someone I thought I knew, but why could I not remember anything, or who was speaking when I heard anyone say anything? I was so frustrated with myself and was still crying when I heard someone speak next.

"Alasia, I know you won't be able to understand any of this right now, but I am going to do something that will help you. I just want you to know that it is I, Rameric Caine, your mate who is right here beside you."

When I heard him speak this time, there was no stopping the tears as they flowed freely. They flowed like a roaring river. There was nothing I could do to stop them, nor did I want to. I didn't know what to say. I didn't know how to feel! I just felt pain from the center of my chest, all the way to my head. That, in addition to the physical pain I already felt in my lower legs from the tops of my feet.

I didn't want to feel anything anymore. I didn't want to feel pain anymore like this. Because I knew, that if this is what I was meant to live life like, then I didn't want to live life anymore. It was at that moment that I felt the pressure on the soft pad beside me decrease, as if Rameric was leaving me. No, why would he leave me?!

The tears started to flow even harder, if that were even possible. Why, after everything that he said about being here, that he would leave here?! Why is he *now* leaving me? I knew this wasn't the case. I knew this wasn't true! I knew he was dead and still yet! I allowed my mind to once again play tricks on me, play tricks on my delicate mind! It made me think that he *was* here when he wasn't.

Why did I fall for this!? Why was I so gullible to fall for the fact that I thought my mate was here when indeed he wasn't? I closed my eyes as I stopped fighting. I stopped trying to feel everything right then. There was no point trying to go on past this point. This was all my delicate heart could take. This was the last straw, the one that broke the wagon. I couldn't live anymore with this much heartache! Suddenly, I felt the pad dip as someone crawled up my body. What were they doing now?!
