Chapter 77

Freshia Ava’s POV

I woke up from my sleep and found myself in a room that was very strange to me. I don't know where this is, but I feel a little dizzy in my head. At the same time, I remembered the previous incident where I met Martin and he drugged me with a handkerchief that had been given sleeping medicine, then my consciousness slowly disappeared.

My gaze began to scan around me. This 5x5-sized room looks empty, there is only a set of single-sized beds, a wardrobe, and also a table and bench which doesn't seem to have a single extension on it. Then not long after, the door to the room I was in slowly opened and a figure that I was previously unaware of appeared behind the door.

Martin looked surprised when he found me sitting on the edge of the bed and looking at him. “Freshia, are you awake?” he asked later.

“What did you do to me, Martin?” Instead of answering his question, I instead threw it back at him, who usually looked relaxed as if nothing had happened and my situation there was my will. “Why did you do this to me? Then, where are my bags and things?” I threw questions at him repeatedly, demanding an explanation from him.

Martin, who was previously still standing at the door, now started to walk closer to me, raising his hands in front of his chest, as if he intended to make me more relaxed. “Slow down, Freshia. I will explain everything to you. But one of the most important things you should know is that I really don't mean any harm to you."

I know Martin looks like he's going to sit right next to me, on the side of the bed. But before he put down his lower body, I immediately told him to sit on a bench not far from me. "I'm not comfortable if you sit next to me, sit on that bench if you really want to explain everything to me," I said in a slightly sarcastic tone.

Martin seemed to take a deep breath, then he complied with my wishes. Not long after sitting down, he opened his mouth again to start telling me about his intention to take me in a forceful way like yesterday. But before he did that, I first interrupted his conversation. “By the way, has the day changed?” I asked.

Martin shook his head. “It's still the same day and it's seven in the evening. You were unconscious for almost four hours, Freshia. So, can I start saying what I want to tell you?" Martin said, which I immediately responded with a nod.

"I just want to make you more aware that what you chose to be with Eros was the wrong choice, Freshia," Martin said in a firm tone. It made me frown a little because I didn't expect that sentence to be the first to come out of his mouth. But I just kept quiet, not wanting to respond to anything he said because he seemed to still want to continue what he was saying.

"To be honest, I was very, very disappointed with what you did last on the plane. I'm annoyed and angry at your decision which doesn't seem to respect me and instead chooses Eros which is clearly not good for you, Freshia," Martin said later.

Initially, I wanted to give him the opportunity to listen to his explanation first, but all I heard from his mouth were words that blamed and cornered me. “Stop, Martin. First, no one can control my life, be it Eros or you. Second, you have absolutely no right to do and say things like that to me. I thought I would listen to a logical explanation from you, but instead, you just kept blaming and cornering me, Martin."

“Then what is Eros' advantage over me, Freshia? Why did you choose to be with a man who has clearly ruined your life instead of choosing to be with me?" Martin jerked at me.

From there I realized that Martin still hadn't forgotten his feelings for me. But a split second later the next words that came out of his mouth dispelled my assumption just now. “Why does it have to be Eros? He doesn’t deserve you, Freshia!” It looks like Martin just doesn't want to lose to Eros.

"Never mind Martin, I don't want to argue with you about that. Please get me out of here, I want to go home. Besides, where exactly are you taking me?”

Martin looked at me sharply, and then a split second later he was seen grinning at me. "If you like Eros because of what he has done to you, then I just need to use the same method to make you submit to me, Freshia.”

My eyes immediately widened when I heard what Martin had just said. I immediately shook my head. “No, Martin. You are no longer the Martin I knew. You really hate Eros because he did bad things to me, but why do you want to be someone like the person you hate?" I shouted at him. But it was useless, Martin immediately left and locked the door of the room I was in, leaving me screaming his name while hitting the door that was now in front of me.

Oh God, I just felt calm in my life but you had to give me a trial by bringing up my past. Then I just tried to make peace with my past, now you are taking me to another trial. Why is the person closest to me now the person who hurt me? What should I do if it's like this? I whispered in my heart and without realizing it my eyes were hot and tears started to fall down my cheeks.

Eros Robinson's POV

"Stupid! What fools you all are! Is it that hard to look after a woman, huh? If you can't even look after Freshia then what's the point of me employing you all?" I growled angrily at the five subordinates in front of me whom I had previously assigned to guard Freshia. Fire all five of them, John!” I exclaimed again which John immediately nodded. Then he immediately signaled the five people to get out of my sight and leave my room.

Now I have to get the bad news again that Freshia is missing after she finished counseling with George this afternoon and when I checked via CCTV at the hospital, I found that she was taken by Martin in a wheeled chair in an unconscious state.

“Martin really needs to be taught a lesson that will truly deter him this time! He's really made my patience run out! Just look at you, Martin!” I said vehemently.

“John, immediately search and track Freshia's current whereabouts. Do whatever it takes to find her, including paying any party that can help us find Freshia. Apart from that, immediately prepare tomorrow's plane tickets to go to the country where Martin's most beloved his mother is. It seems that I will have to use the same dirty methods as him to get Freshia to come back to me this time.” I shouted to John who immediately agreed to carry out my orders.
