Chapter 64

Freshia Ava’s POV

It's been more than four hours since Martin left and I haven't moved from the living room. Continue looking at the door waiting for Martin and Amara to arrive. Now and then I glanced at the clock on the wall which showed that it was getting late. Anxiety and worry still continue to nest in my heart. I'm really nervous right now. Not long after, I saw shadows of light on the curtains not far from where I was sitting. I thought that the light came from a car that had just arrived in the yard. Instantly, the worry I felt slowly faded away.

I immediately got up from my seat and rushed to open the door to confirm whether the light really came from Martin's car or not. And sure enough, when I opened the door and came out of the house, I found Martin and Amara getting out of the car. After that, all the anxiety and worry I felt just melted away. I immediately ran over to Amara and hugged her tightly. Amara also returned my hug.

“Amara, I was so worried about you,” I said while still in her arms. Then I let go of the hug, trying to look at the condition of his face carefully. "Are you okay? What did Eros do to you, Amara?" I asked successively. Amara just showed a smile.

Suddenly Martin's voice interrupted us. “Freshia, let us go inside first. Later, you can ask Amara as much as you like," he said. I immediately agreed and we rushed into the house.

When I arrived at the television room, I looked for Amara and Martin again. Asking them to tell me what they went through and how they were able to escape Eros and get here without a hitch. Amara began to tell how she was taken by Eros' men.

“At that time our car stopped at a gas station and I said that I wanted to go to the bathroom. Robby and Brian, the two bodyguards that Martin assigned to look after me at that time also followed and waited in front of the women's bathroom. But when I had just finished going to the bathroom and was about to wash my hands in the sink, suddenly someone covered my nose and mouth until I lost consciousness. Then I didn't know what happened and suddenly when I woke up I was woken up and was already in Eros' yard," Amara told the details of what happened.

"Then what did Eros do to you after that?" I asked again.

“He asked about your whereabouts, Freshia. But I didn't tell him until finally, he threatened me through my sister." Amara answered.

"What? Eros threatened to hurt your sister if you don't tell me where I am?" I looked at Amara again and she just nodded her head.

“Hah, Eros is really a coward! He always threatens people using family or anyone the person loves," Martin said suddenly.

"But Martin just happened to call Eros at that time and he immediately took me and his men to go meet Martin. If not, maybe I will tell you about this place. Forgive me." Amara said regretfully and she lowered her head.

I looked at Amara who must be disappointed with herself because she would reveal my hiding place, but nothing is more important than family, right? I understand that too. However, Amara and I's conditions are different. Suddenly I remembered my situation, which no longer had blood ties to anyone. The only thing left is my mother who is who knows where at the moment. Suddenly I felt the emptiness again. However, seeing the struggle that Amara and Martin have done to get to this point to help me, made me realize again that there are still people who care about me.

“I can understand your situation. Obviously family is the most important thing, Amara. Besides, the most important thing right now is that you can come back in good condition. But Martin, what about Amara's family? After hearing that Eros threatened Amara through her sister, it's not impossible that he will do it again later," I said.

"Stay cool. I've sent some of my men to guard Amara's family and report to me if anything happens." Martin said suddenly.

However, that didn't make me feel calm immediately. Eros is a person who has power and knows no mercy. If he really intends to do something, then nothing can stop him. "Then how did you escape from Eros?" I asked again. After that, Martin told him what happened earlier. They managed to escape after Martin's men managed to surround them and beat them, so they managed to escape from that place.

Eros was beaten? So how is the situation now? Suddenly I thought of Eros when he found out he was beaten up by Martin's men. However, I immediately brushed it off and chose not to reveal it to Amara and Martin. It is certain that this question will raise suspicion from both of them.

“But how are you guys doing? Was anyone injured because of the incident earlier?” I asked them for the umpteenth time. Amara and Martin shook their heads. “Then, we better rest now. You must be very tired. I will make warm lemon tea for you so you can drink it before bed.” I said. After that, I immediately got out of bed and went to the kitchen.

Ten minutes later, I finished making drinks for Amara and Martin. After that, I immediately took the drink on a tray to Martin's room first. I knocked on his bedroom door and not long after, the door opened, revealing Martin who appeared from behind the door.

“Here's a drink for you. Take one, Martin.” I said. He immediately obeyed my orders and thanked me. But when he was about to take the glass, I saw the wounds on his hands. “Wait, Martin. Why is your hand injured? As far as I remember, this wound was not on your hand before. Did you just get it earlier?” I shouted at him.

Instead of answering, Martin smiled. “It's just a small wound. Earlier I had a chance to fight with Eros' men. But don't worry, I'll treat it soon. Thank you for your concern, Freshia.” The reply was relaxed.

"Ok, don't forget to treat it," I said then.

“It seems like I'm actually grateful for being injured. You're paying attention to me." Martin said suddenly when I was about to say goodbye to go to mine and Amara's room.

Hearing that made me turn towards him. “Don't be ridiculous! Take it easy. I'll go back to the room.” I said in an indifferent tone and immediately left him.

I opened the door to the room I shared with Amara and saw her still sitting on the edge of the bed. Seeing my presence, she immediately turned to me and smiled. I immediately approached her and sat next to her, then handed her a glass of my homemade drink. She thanked her and immediately took it from the tray.

“You look like you're thinking about something. Is it true?" I asked.

At first, she seemed silent. Seems unsure whether to answer my question or not. "Just tell me, don't keep it to yourself, Amara," I said back.

Amara seemed to take a deep breath before finally saying, "To be honest, I'm afraid of Eros. After seeing it earlier, I was afraid he would reply more. I'm afraid my family will get carried away too, Freshia. I didn't think he would involve my family.”

I was confused about what to say to Amara and started blaming myself. Of course, all this happened because Amara helped me escape. Would it really be better for me to return to Eros? At least the lives of those closest to me can return to normal.
