Chapter 173

Chapter 173

Sophia finally agreed to Daniel's offer. As soon as she nodded, Daniel took the instrument case from her back.

"Let me get that."

Daniel's voice was deep and magnetic. He was even thoughtful enough not to touch Sophia's body completely. With a slight effort of his wrist, he smoothly took over the case, his movements gentle and controlled.

"Okay."

Sophia pressed her lips together.

Daniel drove the car himself. The atmosphere in the car was awkward, so Sophia had to turn her face to look out the window - it made her feel a bit more comfortable.

Neither of them took the initiative to speak. After some time, Daniel suddenly spoke slowly.

"About what I mentioned the other day, have you thought about it? Don't worry, I'm just asking casually. You don't need to feel too much pressure."

His well-defined hand rested lightly on the steering wheel, his eyes always focused on the road ahead. Only his rolling Adam's apple betrayed his inner emotions.

Sophia opened her mouth, then, after a moment, said softly.

"I'm not thinking about all that right now. I just want to do well at tomorrow's concert. Mr. Wilson, could you give me a bit more time to think about it?"

She lowered her eyes.

"And Mr. Wilson, you should know I'm married, right? Even if I wanted to say yes, there's really no way."

Sophia meant it as a joke, trying to brush the matter aside with a laugh, but she never expected Daniel to be so serious.

While slowly turning the steering wheel, he said in a serious tone.

"It's fine. If you can't divorce your current husband, I can help you. As long as you're willing, I can help you with anything."

In an instant, Sophia's heart was in turmoil. She had never expected Daniel to say something like this. She intended to move past this topic, but instead she'd made things worse.

An awkward smile appeared on her face.

"That's not what I meant, Mr. Wilson. It's not that I don't want to divorce my husband, it's just that our relationship is pretty good, so divorce wouldn't be right."

In the car, Daniel clicked his tongue, a flash of coldness and impatience crossing his stern face.

Then he turned the car at a corner and said lightly.

"You don't need to be so absolute. Think about it some more. After spending more time with me, maybe you'll change your mind."

The apartment building entrance was right ahead. Sophia let out a heavy sigh of relief.

Finally, they'd arrived. She could finally escape this suffocating, awkward atmosphere.

"But if you don't want to divorce your husband, I can also be your lover. As long as your husband doesn't mind, I have no problem with it."

As soon as he finished speaking, Sophia's eyes widened, her round eyes full of shock.

The next second, she laughed dryly.

"Mr. Wilson, please don't say that. My husband and I really have a good relationship. You're the great Mr. Wilson - what kind of woman couldn't you find? You don't need to waste your time on me."

The car slowly pulled up to the apartment building. Daniel gave a noncommittal hum.

"It's okay. Spend more time with me. All your upcoming concerts and schedules will go through me. If you go abroad, I'll go with you too."

He turned his head to look at Sophia, his eyes showing the confidence of someone determined to win.

"Mr. Wilson, I'm getting out now."

Sophia really couldn't stand this atmosphere and questioning anymore. She had never met anyone like Daniel before. Even when pushed to his limit, Benjamin would never say things like this.

She pulled open the car door, and as she looked up, she saw a man standing not far away.

Benjamin's face was dark and cold. His eyes were fixed tightly on Daniel and Sophia in the car, a chilling coldness in his gaze. He suddenly smiled, his tone sinister.

"Sophia, I've been waiting here for you for a long time. I waited until dark and still didn't see you come."

Then Benjamin slowly shifted his gaze to Daniel, who had also gotten out of the car.

Daniel had striking good looks with sharp features. He had a mole on his high nose bridge, and his whole face was cool and distant.

Obviously, this was the Daniel that Chase had mentioned.

"In such a short time, you've already found another man?"

Benjamin withdrew his gaze, his voice cold and heavy.

"What are you doing here?"

Sophia frowned slightly.

She really didn't want Benjamin and Daniel to meet. When they met, she was the one who would end up with a headache.

"Mr. Wilson, thank you for bringing me here. Please be careful on your way back."

She stopped paying attention to Benjamin, whose eyes looked ready to shoot fire, and turned to speak to Daniel with a polite smile on her face.

She was holding the heavy instrument case.

"Let me walk you up."

Daniel seemed to deliberately say this in front of Benjamin.

The moment Benjamin appeared, he understood Benjamin's identity - Benjamin was Sophia's husband.

He hadn't expected Benjamin to be Sophia's husband. After being surprised for just a moment, he quickly adjusted his mood. Since he didn't plan to back down, facing Benjamin was bound to happen sooner or later.

"Since I've already brought you here, let me take you to your door. That's what I should do anyway."

Daniel's lips curved up. When he said the last sentence, he deliberately lowered his voice. If you listened carefully, you could hear suppressed laughter in his tone.

Sophia immediately felt her scalp tingle. She didn't even dare look at Benjamin's expression and quickly waved her hand to decline.

"No need, Mr. Wilson. You bringing me here has already wasted a lot of your time. Let's just stop here."

Daniel looked past her at Benjamin, standing behind her. Seeing Benjamin's gloomy expression and the veins bulging on his hands at his sides, he smiled with satisfaction.

"Alright, then make sure you rest well tonight and prepare for tomorrow's concert. I believe you'll do great."

He knew when to stop, knowing these things couldn't be rushed. If he pushed Benjamin too far, who knew what that crazy man might do?

Daniel was willing to back down, and Sophia breathed a sigh of relief.

"Okay, Mr. Wilson, please be careful on your way back. I'll head in now."

Benjamin stood to the side, watching Sophia and Daniel chatting softly. His face was extremely dark, and a very low, cold laugh escaped his throat.

"Mr. Wilson, is that how I should address you?"

He stepped forward slowly, standing shoulder to shoulder with Sophia, then slowly extended his hand.

"Mr. Wilson, it's an honor to meet you. I'm Benjamin White. My name should sound familiar to you."

Benjamin and Daniel both had an overwhelming presence. When they came together, it was even more tense, the air around them seeming to be filled with sparks, carrying a silent confrontation.

"Hello, Mr. White. I'm naturally familiar with Mr. White. Mr. White is Sophia's husband, correct?"

Daniel calmly raised his hand for a light handshake. He wore a polite smile on his face, though it didn't reach his eyes.
