Chapter 50
Chapter 50
"Where are we?" I asked as soon as we entered a large area which was filled with lots of flowers and grasses. There was a large green maze at a far end and I could see a building behind it. It felt like I was in a different world entirely.
With my brows furrowing in confusion, I stopped and turned to face the tribrid. "I don't understand. Are we going through that maze too? Where is this place?"
"You ask a lot of questions. Yes we're going into that maze and once we reach the rogue's quarters, you'll get the answers to all of your questions,"
I let out a sigh, my legs became heavy as I dawdled behind her, my heart racing as I thought of what the outcome of my findings might be.
Will I be able to learn one or two things about my roots or will I be deceived by the tribrid?
All of those thoughts pondered my mind and when the tribrid turned back to look at me, I flashed her a forced sheepish smile which masked the worried look on my face.
As we walked into the maze, I tried hard to take note of my paths but I ended up getting confused like I was solving a complicated puzzle.
When we finally arrived at the huge building behind the maze, my eyes widened at the beautiful sight of it.
Two large sentinels stood at different corners, their faces as Stony as a rock.
I saw some dwarfs and gnomes walking around and I chuckled inwardly at how funny they looked.
The tribrid turned to face me; she must have realized how distracted I was.
While I was still studying every detail in the surroundings, I noticed the tribrid walked up to a guard and whispered something in his ear.
She came back to me and I shot her a curious gaze.
"Now what?" I asked with raised brows.
"Now, we have to see the rogue king. Come with me, my child. You're getting close to getting your answers," She muttered as she stretched her hands towards me.
After hesitating and studying her facial expression for a little while, I finally decided to place my palms on hers.
She smiled meekly and escorted me into the large building. The exterior part of the building was quite beautiful and attractive but the interior part of the building was black and ugly.
My eyes took note of every feature inside the building and I furrowed my brows at how awful they made it appear.
"Welcome dearie. I have been waiting for you all this while," A loud voice boomed at a far end and my eyes widened and darted around, trying to locate the source.
The tribrid walked up to me and turned me to the direction of the voice.
I squinted my eyes as I tried to figure out who it was that was talking. The whole place was dark, making it difficult to see.
After blinking for several minutes, I was finally able to see two girls in white regalia standing behind a man who was seated on a king-sized throne.
The man was in a black costume. His skin was quite tanned and he was loaded with great muscles. He had long dark hair which brushed neatly and cascaded beneath his nape. He appeared like a Greek god and his deep brown mysterious eyes held me in their grasp.
"I believe it's the Lady Camelia we have here, isn't it?" He asked, his voice deep and husky.
"Yes your highness," The tribrid responded, giving him a gentle bow.
I could see his lips twitching as he assessed me from head to toe.
When he stood up from his king sized chair and advanced towards me, I retraced my steps, my eyes widening as various thoughts filled my mind.
What was he trying to do to me?
What did he need me for?
"You– you said I'll get the answers to my questions, didn't you?" I asked as I turned to face the tribrid, my hands quivering along.
"Yes dear, Remain at your spot. The rogue king wants to speak to you,"
He advanced towards me, his towering height sending shivers down my spine.
What on earth have I put myself into?
"What do you want from me? Why have you asked for me?" I finally mustered the courage to ask, staying on my spot and trying to act brave.
He held my chin with his large hands and slid his fingers down my neck.
"Don't touch me that way! You're not my mate." I snapped as I yanked his hands off me, feeling disgusted by his touches.
He reacted by bursting into laughter and my eyes widened in shock when numerous laughter erupted at different angles.
I never knew other people were here too. The whole place was dark so it was hard to tell that people were there.
"What's so funny?" I asked with furrowed brows as his laughter was starting to irk me.
"We might not be mates but you have no choice but to be mine as long as you're here darling," The rogue king said with a grin while I shook my head, not wanting to believe his statement.
"No! You! You told me I needed to learn some things about my root. Tell me, what do you know about my ancestors?" I inquired as I shifted my gaze at the tribrid.
"The rogue king will explain to you. Just let him speak to you,"
She responded.
"What do you mean by I'm yours? I have a mate, not just a mate but three mates. So who are you to claim me?"
I asked, directing my gaze back at the rogue king who was dressed in a fleece black jacket and black leathered pants. He had a wolf tattoo design on his left shoulder and his chest was quite hairy.
"According to the witches in my territory, I have to claim you as mine so we rogues can thrive."
"What? What do you mean?"
"Don't you realize you're a special lady? The special powers you possess is what makes you unique. The witches informed me that your union with me will give me more powers and make the rogues thrive."
I shook my head, still feeling shocked and confused at his confession.
"The rogues have always been seen as outcasts and nobodies in the land. You and I can change that story. I know you know what it feels being treated like an outcast. When you were in Goldmoon pack, you were once seen as someone cursed and less special. That same way you felt is how the rogues feel now. Your ancestors are rogues like us and you should be happy to fulfill this dream with me. Be mine and let's take over the world together, Camelia." The rogue king disclosed further and I could feel my anger rising in me.
"What proof do you have that my ancestors are rogues? Also, I'm not fated or mated to you. I have three wonderful mates who are given to me by the moon goddess."
"Whether there is a proof or not, you have no choice but to abide by my rules as long as you're here,"
The rogue king threatened and my heart raced faster as shock and fear overwhelmed me.
"What! Is this what you were trying to tell me all these while?" I turned to ask the tribrid, my face etched with confusion.
She removed her hood and a lopsided smile formed on her face, her amber eyes staying on mine for a moment.
With a final tone, she muttered, "Thanks for trusting us Camelia. I'm afraid at this point you have to believe whatever the rogue king says,"
"What! So you have been lying to me all these while?"
When she didn't give a response, I shook my head and took to my heels, wanting to escape from their sight.
"Not so fast, Camelia." The tribrid yelled as she pointed her fingers towards the door, causing it to shut at once.
"No!" I screamed as soon as the door got locked.
Was I really trapped in here now? Is this really happening to me?
The touch on my skin made me shiver and when I turned, I saw the rogue king in front of me.
"Leave me!" I yelled as I pushed him off me but to my surprise, he didn't budge.
"Bathe her and get her dressed in elegant attires. Her training starts now!"
What? What training? What the hk did I just put myself into?
I wonder how my mates will feel without seeing me at home. I should
have informed them before coming here.
I really regret all of my actions.
What will happen to me now?
