Chapter 38
Chapter 38
The next day….
The loud buzzing sound from my alarm caused me to wake early. I yawned and clutched my pillow tightly, wishing I could get more sleep.
I stood up from the bed with sleepy eyes and reached for the bathroom. The care I received from my mates yesterday was super amazing. I wouldn't deny the fact that I enjoyed every bit of their presence.
I'm so blessed, aren't I?
I smiled as I took my bath, memories of everything that happened yesterday began to flood my mind.
I remembered how they massaged and fondled my body like I was a VIP customer at a classy spa. I also remembered how they all took turns in singing for me.
Their vocals were so beautiful that I couldn't resist dozing off like a baby does when they hear a lullaby.
I got ready for school by washing myself, putting on my clothing, and carrying my bag.
"Good morning, mates." I greeted with a warm smile as I descended the grand stairs.
My eyes widened when I saw nothing but emptiness.
'Where could they be?' I asked in my thoughts as I glanced around with my ponytail swinging behind my nape.
Slowly, I moved to the kitchen, hoping I'd see them there but my face was overcome with shock when I didn't see a trace of them.
What was I thinking? They should be in their room.
I headed back upstairs and strolled the corridor, trying to locate each of their rooms.
As I entered Carlos's room, my jaws dropped and my brows shot upwards when I didn't find him there.
"Carlos!" I called but there was no reply.
Maybe they're in Xavier's room.
I walked slowly to Xavier's room, hoping to see them there, but as usual, all I saw was an empty space.
"Wh– what?" As I cautiously left his room, I questioned, my lips trembling.
"Xavier! Carlos! Where are you?" I yelled as I strolled down the corridor in an attempt to check Desmond's room.
'Oh! Moon goddess. Let them all be here. ' I prayed inwardly as I took slow steps closer to the door..
As I held the door knob, my heart raced faster as panic and worry overwhelmed me.
"Gotcha!" I let out an exclamation as I opened the door, but as soon as I saw none of them, my smile vanished.
None of them were here..
Where then could they be?
I searched the whole room and my panic increased as I didn't see any trace of them.
"Xavier! Carlos! Desmond! Please come out. Tell me this isn't a joke. Why can't I find you guys?" I yelled into the thin air, my emotions taking over me.
"Please, do come out,"
I breathe in and out, trying to maintain my composure.
I headed to the main door which led outside, wanting to know if they had all gone out without informing me.
As I held the door knob, my heart skipped when I realized it was locked.
"What on earth is going on?"
"Carlos! Xavier! D- Desmond!" I yelled once again.
What if something had happened to them when I slept? Where can my mates be and why was I locked inside?
After an endless search for them, I grew tired and fell to my knees, tears flowed effortlessly down my cheeks.
I was a type that got emotional and things like this only made me scared.
When I raised my head, I saw their three piercing stunning eyes. They were behind the sofas ; a tell tale sign that they've been hiding there all these while.
"We're so sorry we made you feel this way. I made them do this because I wanted to surprise you." Carlos emphasized as he drew closer to me with a bunch of flowers.
My tears were still visible on my cheek, I didn't know I was such a cry baby.
"You all made me scared!" I said as more tears pricked my eyeballs.
Carlos wrapped his arms around me and said, "I shouldn't have made us hide for too long before finally showing ourselves to you. I feel bad about it because it made you sad that you didn't see us."
He held my cheeks softly and raised my chin, his voice tinged with regret.
"All we wanted to do was scare you by showing up out of the blue from our hiding spots but we failed by hiding for a long time. Today, the fifth of March, is a reminder of the first day I met you. The day I showed up by saving you from being sold to your dad's creditor. I still remember that day and I can't just forget the date."
I grinned sadly as I looked at all three of them, nodding in understanding.
"I know you were all trying to play games with me. I love it but for a fact, I got scared at the moment. I thought you all left me. I felt empty and alone. My mind had horrible thoughts and I couldn't help but cry," I muttered to them while they all widened their eyes, surprised at the true expression of my thoughts.
"All I felt was emptiness without you guys with me. I don't think I can ever live without the three of you. I'll never be happy if that happens,"
"No. That won't happen Camelia. It won't. You're now a part of us and we're a part of you. We can never leave you no matter what. You're OURS. OURS to protect, OURS to cherish, OURS to keep and OURS to love," Xavier added, shooting me a comforting smile.
A feeling of relief washed over me. Desmond leaned forward and cleaned my tears with his fingers.
"We're deeply sorry if we scared you. It wasn't our intention to do so." Xavier said to me, his voice tinged with certainty.
"I understand. That little feeling of loneliness I felt without you guys made me see the value of your existence in your life. I can't live without you all," I said lastly before hugging them all at once.
They all gave me a peck at once and Carlos broke the silence that had ensued.
"We've made breakfast. You need to eat something before going to school."
"I think just a little bread and jam will do..I don't really feel hungry," I muttered as I held my tummy.
"No probs. You'll have it right away," Carlos said as he headed for the kitchen.
Desmond came closer to me and held my shoulders, his cute gray eyes holding me in their grasp.
He gave me a firm gaze and said, "I gave you this bracelet as a gift back then at the cottage where we mated."
He muttered as he brought out the bracelet – The very one he gave me before having sx with me back then at the cottage.
My eyes grew wide as I realized that it hadn't been with me all along.
"I really apologize. I had no idea that it wasn't with me."
Desmond gave me a sly smile in return for my apology.
"I understand. Keep this bracelet well. It'll protect you from harm and dangers. You can also use it to communicate with me whenever you're in danger," Desmond shared more light and I gaped after hearing his statement.
I took a long look at the silver bracelet which had some markings on it.
"This bracelet was made by my grandmother. She was a great witch during her time and this bracelet was passed on to females in my lineages,"
"I know you're curious as to why I am giving this to you. It's because the bracelet has special work. It can also help you to control your powers." Desmond said before wearing it in my hand. I watched as it slid into my hand and stayed perfectly well on my wrist.
"I know why you gave it to me. It's to protect me but don't you have family members who might be in need of it?" I asked as I gazed at him intensely, my face etched with curiosity.
"First and foremost, I gave you because I love you, and secondly because my family no longer has any female members. They've all vanished."
"Wow!" I said with a gasp escaping from my lips.
"I know you're curious to learn more about my family. Trust me, I'll tell you every single thing you need to know about it. As for now, you have to prepare for school. I don't want you to go late." Desmond said sweetly and I glanced once again at the bracelet in my wrist.
"I promise that I'll keep this well. It won't go missing."
I scurried to the dining area to eat breakfast.
After eating, I carried my bag, getting ready to leave but Xavier held my arm, stopping me from moving further.
"Please be safe mate. Don't talk to anyone and please, keep a close watch on your friend, Hazel." Xavier said.
Carlos advanced towards us and said, "If you need anything, please, don't hesitate to connect with us through the mind link."
Desmond raised his brows at me and said, "When you speak into the bracelet, I'll definitely hear you. Don't hesitate to reach me if you need anything,"
I smiled sheepishly from ear to ear at all three of them. They were like drops that filled an entire ocean. I couldn't be more grateful to have them in my life.
I nodded in response to each of their statements.
I dashed out of the house and within a minute, I was already in front of my school.
As I walked through the hallway, a grin spread across my lips, I was so happy to have such caring mates.
"You look so happy," A clear voice said behind me.
I turned to look back at the person and my eyes widened when I realized it was Kate.
"Oh! Kate. How are you doing?"! I asked as I gave her a hug.
"I'm fine. Good to know you're okay," Kate mumbled, her amber innocent eyes boring into mine.
As we walked gracefully down the hall, Kate decided to strike a conversation, breaking the long silence that had ensued.
"I know you're responsible for the lamp catching flames that day,"
My eyes widened and my jaw dropped a little.
If she knew I was the one, then that means she must have seen me.
My heart raced as I wondered who else must have seen me..
It wouldn't be good if any
one else knows about it.
"Tell me, Camelia, are you truly a witch?" Kate asked me out of the blue, and I could see her eyes staring intensely at the bracelet on my wrist.
