Chapter 71 - Reunion.

Akiner is gone and his allies have turned into shadows, taken by their last wills of hatred and war.
And while these beings were gone, only Karim and Otto remained. Their eyes crossed for a while. And the son still had some hatred in his eyes.
But at that moment, his father did not have the same look. Now, Otto seemed tired and sorry. He felt that he could no longer resent his son’s choices.
"If this girl really is all that, I can’t resent her being a Corner anymore." Otto said in a low tone, as if he hates saying it.
Karim looked at him surprised, never expected those words coming from his father.
"I know it’s hurt my son a lot. But, the hatred overcame me. What happened to your aunt and our past, made me blame even this girl who had no fault." He finally said looking into his son’s eyes.
Karim looked at his father with a light smile. To forgive him for almost killing his omega was difficult. But he knew that day would come.
" I can’t forgive you now but..." Karim looked away. "I know that in the future I will." he said looking again at his father.
Otto hugged him and Karim returned the hug a little fearful, since his father had never given him one. He was accustomed to collections and not affection.
And as the matter between them was settled, Otto began to appear. He was no longer imprisoned and his soul would already be sent to the world of the dead.
"Tell your mother and sister that I love them. I wish you knew that too." Otto said with a final smile.
And even if the father was no longer there, Karim replied: "I will say."
Karim stood there alone for a few minutes, looking at that place where he had been trapped, now destroyed.
He looked at the tree and smiled, "I’m coming back, Sera. I’m coming back to you."
Karim took a deep breath and followed the golden thread that led him into those roots of the sacred tree.

He felt a slight dizziness and his soul was pulled towards something.
Karim woke up with his heart racing. Panting and dizzy, as if he had slept for a long time. Well, in fact, he slept.
The man tried to get up and felt a dizziness. He ended inadvertently, dropping some things but held on to the bed.
Hearing the noise, Joshua came in and helped him sit down.
"Slow down, buddy. You’ve been sleeping for over a month."
"Sera." That was the only thing he could say.
"I don’t know, buddy. She’s been gone for a while. But if you’re here, it means she might be coming back."
Karim lay down and looked out the window. And yes, he could feel his omega approaching.

Sera finally came out of the sacred tree. What was before a nearly dead tree, covered with shadows and with grieving voices inside.
Now, it shone in a beautiful and resplendent gold.
"You did it, Sera." She heard the soft voice of the Goddess. But somehow it was different. Her right eye was covered with darkness.
Mother hugged her and Sera could feel a power of Chaos coming from her but she said nothing.
"Thank you, madam."
"Ah. You must have noticed that I’m different." Mother smiled. "Chaos is here. The opposite of me is Kallias' father."
Sera looked at her, curious. They never knew of a God. But she knew that the Mother would probably not explain anything to her.
"It’s time to come back, dear. You did very well and deserve a rest."
The Goddess touched her forehead and with a smile, sent Sera back to where she should be.

Sera was still dirty with blood and tired, Twilight was also next to her. This crow always appeared without her waiting.
She could see Jae Hyun’s house and smiled when she opened the door. The lights were on, which meant there were people in the house.
When she came in, Thomas could see her and hugged her with tears in his eyes.
Sera also cried and hugged her friend. It was good to be back alive

She laughed and said to him, signaling: "I’m dirty with blood."

"We don’t care. You’re fine, Sera, and you did something very important to all of us. That’s what matters most." Thomas smiled.

"Come, I have a surprise for you."

Sera’s heart sped up at that moment. Was it really him? She ran into the room and saw Karim awake, alive and breathing.

Sera hugged him and he kissed her lips, not caring about the blood and dirt on her clothes.

Thomas and Joshua left the couple alone. Sera touched Karim’s face, assuring him that he was really there.

"You’re here, you’re really here." she said drinking her face and stammering with tears in her eyes.

"Thanks to Mother and you, my love. I knew you could do it, Sera. I knew." Karim said kissing her face and wiping away her tears. " Don’t cry, Sera."

"There is no way not to cry to have you back." She smiled in tears.

But her smile faded when she remembered the loss she had on the day her alpha was gone.

"Honey, I..." She looked away not knowing how to say that.

"What is it? Are you hurt?" Karim asked, alarmed.

She nodded and told him about the loss of their child that day. Karim hugged her and she tightened her shirt, trembling to remember the event and crying for his loss.

They did not know how long they were in that position, gripped by their pain. But being next to each other was a comfort, united again as one.

Finally, Sera and Karim were able to take a shower and clean up. They laughed when the bath foam broke on his body.

"I love you." They both said together. And with a kiss, Karim promised: "I promise you that you will not feel this pain again."
