403- Part of By Blood

403- Part of By Blood
POV Viktor Averwyn:

That time, when I pulled, the arms came loose from the joints, the skin tearing. They were almost ripped off, both at once. But I let them go, barely attached by tendons, inert on the ground. Blood flowing, his breathing gasping. On the verge of losing consciousness.

I waited, just pulling air into my lungs, wanting him fully alert when I finally ended it all. Rage becoming part of my blood.

Lucian, with one side of his face lacerated, scalp open, arms loose and muscles detached, looked at me. Panic shone in his dull eyes, as if his beast had already given up.

I stomped harder, and he whimpered about his crushed private parts.

"Viktor! Wait!"

I recognized Edric's voice. It took a great deal of willpower to detach myself from the icy hatred and reorient myself. The noises had stopped, and my eyes swept around.

Bodies, limbs, blood on the ground, splattered on the trees. Pieces of flesh that were once wolves of that scoundrel. All dead. Standing, my wolves, Edric's and Aldren's. Like a large circle.

My brothers arrived at my side, bathed in blood, their eyes golden like mine. There I realized what we had never noticed. Our beasts had the same eyes. Like our mother's, when she turned into a wolf.

Emotions flooded me, but I stifled them, so as not to be distracted from my vengeance. It was not yet over.

I turned back to Lucian, who groaned in pain and despair. Deciding whether it would be more painful to rip off his head, as he had done to Katarina, or his heart, as he had done to Adelina.

"Wait..." Aldren asked, putting his hand on my tense arm. "We need answers."

It was hard to think, to breathe. I just waited, and it was he who turned to Lucian.

"Why all this? Why did you deceive us all this time?"

The other gurgled blood and spat, exhausted. His eyes went from me to my middle brother, then back to me. He murmured:

"He's going to... kill me..."

"Not if you talk." Edric approached on my other side.

"Lies..."

"It's your only chance. We'll let you escape, if you tell us why they didn't kill us along with our parents." Aldren was very dry.

His eyes passed over the three of us, and fear gradually turned into rage, as he spat out the words with bloody saliva:

"This was all... supposed to be ours! Mine and Konrad's... they promised us..."

"Who? The Elders?" Edric stepped forward, his fists clenched.

Lucian began to laugh and choke at the same time, while groaning in pain and starting to cough.

"Die... without knowing..."

"You won't say anything," I said quietly, tired of waiting. My vengeance demanded a reward.

I took my foot off and, in a single motion with my right hand, I shoved my claws into his private parts, tearing desperate screams from his throat. I pulled, that shit being brought along, castrating him without any warning.

"This is for abusing my daughter!" I threw the cock and balls aside.

"Ahhhhh..."

"For touching her!" I sank my nails into his wrists and ripped off both arms at once.

Pale, he fainted. But I knelt on his belly, while blood gushed everywhere, slowly shoving my claws into his chest. He awoke with the pain, his gaze clouded with terror, his mouth open babbling like an idiot.

"Now go to hell, you wretch!"

I growled and opened his chest. My fist went inside, felt his heart beating weakly. I grabbed it and squeezed, watching the life drain from his eyes.

"You mangy son of a bitch. I said I would destroy you if you touched her. Die!"

I pulled the heart, and it burst between my fingers. The empty, dead, lacerated body lay there, staining the earth. Rotting our soil.

I stood up, breathing uneven, the hatred only slightly abated. I wanted to do it all over again, to kill him endlessly until I felt relief.

"It's over," Edric murmured, as if he knew how I felt.

"No." I turned to them. In a way, their presence calmed me. "There are still the Elders. We need to get answers from them."

Aldren nodded, the gold of his eyes fading. Fixed on mine. He murmured:

"I remember us, in the wooden house in the valley. The fire, the attack. Our mother telling us to run away, saying we were the Supreme Alphas. Since yesterday, the visions have been stronger, coming all the time."

"I remember you too. And them." Edric shook his head. "A little. And us hiding in the cave."

Strong feelings enveloped us, even though we were strangers. We spent centuries not knowing of our kinship, even though the two of them identified with each other.

I nodded, knowing we would have much to talk about, to decide. And to remember.

"Viktor!"

The shout shook me, and I turned immediately, fear sweeping over me from head to toe when I saw the group emerge from the vegetation, Seraphine on Florian's shoulders.

She jumped to the ground and ran toward me. My heart raced.

I rushed toward her like a madman.
