CHAPTER 76 Rogue Alliance
Kai Long
Somewhere in Europe
Going rogue was not a problem for me. I had already funneled enough money to use as capital and keep me comfortable.
Dominic Modesto, the Viscount of the East Coven Stronghold, was waiting for me near the border of China and Mongolia at an old private airport where my private plane had been stashed. I knew he was following us; his putrid stench mingled with the wind that blew in our direction.
"Alpha Kai Long, we meet again," he said smiling, his hand extended for a handshake. I pushed him against the gate of the compound of the airport, my arm against his neck. My eyes darkened and my teeth elongated to fangs.
"You shot my mother," I growled. "You were suppose to shoot the Enchantress, you imbecile!"
"I couldn't see her," he croaked. "All I saw was a blue haze through my scope. Every time I aimed at her, the blue haze would move as if it was taunting me. I made my shot, but somehow it ricocheted to hit your mother." I let go of him and backed away.
It was the Enchantress' fault! How she came to meet Drew, I had no idea. I had pushed for him to wed Isabella, so I could rally the pack members against him and have him thrown out for mating with a human. I had told Charles to make sure he proposed to Isabella in exchange for a seat on the grand council.
However, Charles informed Drew's father instead of informing me when this Fire Turner showed up. I couldn't entirely blame Charles for not trusting me. After all, he did hear me tell Jade that I wanted her to become Alpha of our pack instead of Drew who lived as an outsider.
"Father, the plane is ready with all your luggage already on board," my daughter said as she approached to open the cyclone wired fence. Once the gate opened, I gave her a hug. This was our plan B. If we couldn't grab the highest position in the pack, then we would go rogue.
Jade, aside from her many talents, was also a licensed pilot. I had her trained to be resilient and resourceful in case only the two of us were banished.
"Viscount, what are you doing with my father?" Jade asked. She was wearing an expensive fur coat under a cream colored pantsuit with matching high heeled pumps. She looked as if she was ready to be queen of our empire.
"I was merely explaining the circumstances of your grandmother's injury," he answered. "By the way, I am no longer the Viscount, Jade. I have been stripped of my nobility."
"Dominic, Dominic, Dominic... that only means you can be whoever you want to be," Jade said, gesturing for all of us to enter. Modesto picked up his duffle bag from the ground and walked in. "I'm guessing your bag is filled with coke, right?"
"Of course, including a couple of bags of ecstacy, " he said.
"Your women are in the container van over there," Jade said.
While Dominic Modesto entered the container van, I grabbed my daughter by the arm to question her about the drugs.
"Jade, what is this?! You've been dealing drugs?!" I snarled at her. She pulled away and smiled wickedly.
"Father, you have kept me on a tight budget all these years, keeping the profits all to yourself. I had to be creative. I couldn't face dignitaries in cashmere sweaters and leather boots now could I?" Jade said, mocking me.
"How much do you have?" I asked. She laughed.
"Do you think I'd tell you my net worth, Father?" Jade asked. I ran my hand through my hair in frustration. I had taught her well. "Whatever comes out from my business is mine, whatever comes out from yours is yours."
"What exactly is your business?" I asked gruffly.
"I abduct young clean humans for the vampires and keep them plump and untarnished while they pay me in drugs. The drugs are distributed to my dealers and voila! Money!" Jade smiled sinisterly. "I've been doing this since I met Dominic in Thailand."
"Thailand? That was almost five or six years ago." She has been dealing drugs for that long. No wonder she never asked for money anymore. I thought I had instilled in her to make do with whatever she had, but she had decided to build an empire on her own by abducting humans and selling drugs. I have raised my daughter to be the Godfather.
"Father, I didn't start big all at once. It took me two, maybe three years for my empire to grow." Jade turned her head to the vampire who suddenly appeared by my side. I jumped when I noticed him.
*Damn, these bloodsuckers*!
"Thank you, Jade. I feel much better," Modesto said.
"There's a cooler on the plane filled with blood bags. It will last you until we get to our next destination," Jade said. "Father, you and your men can freshen up in the plane and change your clothing. I'm guessing you stole your clothes from the village you passed by on your way here. Your suits are hung on the closet near the shower room."
"Obviously you thought of everything." I gestured for my men to board the plane. "Where are we headed?"
"Spain. I have an old friend I need to see before the new Queen of the Vampires gets a hold of him." She paused, sniffing the air. "Do you smell that?"
"Smell what?" I began sniffing the air too. It took me a few moments, but I finally caught a whiff of the fish-like smell.
"There's someone else here," Jade growled. "Show yourself or you won't like what I do to you when I find you!"
A tall Caucasian man suddenly appeared. He had dark hair and hazel eyes. I inhaled deeply, catching the scent of rogue wolf, but his smell was combined with the stench of fish.
"Identify yourself, wolf!" I demanded.
"Michael, former Gamma of the fallen Alpha James Turner, former pack member of the Mystic Moon Pack in the UK. The Marchioness, who is now queen, betrayed me," the wolf said. "I would like to join you on your quest for vengeance."
"Any rogue is welcome, but you will have to prove your worth," I said. He smiled, showing me his sharp teeth and nodded his head.
"Kai Long, you will soon find me indispensable."
After picking up Isabella Cuevas' father, we flew to a mansion near the sea. Currently, I was drinking some scotch while taking in the cool breeze of the sea at my bedroom terrace.
"Father, the Rogue Lord would like to speak to you," Jade said, handing me my phone. "Play nicely. The Rogue Alliance needs his resources, especially his contacts."
As I spoke with the Rogue Lord, promising him to help locate the daughter of Adella, my thoughts went to my Alpha nephew and his Luna.
Drew and Fire will have children and their children will come to Europe like all the spoilt little Alpha pups before them.
When that day happens, I will be there, waiting for them...
