Chapter 48 - Preparations
**The Darkness' P.O.V.**
I know that stupid demon and monster are up to something. They think they're so smart but forget I'm not called The Darkness for nothing. When Ayin leaves, I turn to Therion.
"So, what's your plan when we get to the pack?" I ask, moving over toward the large, ugly green blob. He turns away from me.
"I don't know what you mean. We're going to get the sisters and leave before Satan shows up." He replies, but I don't buy it. I can feel his deceit.
"Don't lie to me, or I'll turn you into a tiny lizard and crush you with my boot." I move over to stand in front of him.
"Ayin wants to only get the keeper and leave." He says. So the demon is going to betray me. If he's willing to betray me, he's probably willing to betray both of us. I think it's time to join him as he watches over the packhouse. I will have the three daughters of Selene, and he won't stop me.
"Come on. We're going to the forest with Ayin. I think he's going to try to get the keeper for himself." Therion follows me out of the hiding spot, and we go to where Ayin is not far from the packhouse. When we're only a few yards away, he spins around, and his red eyes widen in shock.
"What are you doing here? I told you I was going to watch them until morning." He says nervously. I smirk at him and look toward the packhouse. It's almost dark out, so not many people are milling around.
"We decided to come watch with you. Especially after your buddy told me, you were planning on only getting the keeper and leaving." Ayin swallows a few times and looks between me and Therion.
"He was mistaken. We're going to get all three of them." I stop him before he can finish his lie.
"Don't waste your breath. So what were you going to do, kidnap her tonight and make us look like fools when we show up in the morning after Satan has arrived?" By the look on his face, I know that is exactly what he was going to do.
"You lied to me?" The green jackass asks.
"Why are you surprised? I knew you couldn't keep your mouth shut, so I needed to protect myself." Ayin replies. I shake my head as the two of them begin arguing.
"Enough. We're all here now, so why are we standing around with our fingers in our asses? We need to get them and get out of here." I say as I see Hailey walk in front of one of the windows.
"It will be better when they're in bed so we can sneak inside and take them without the others knowing. By the time everyone else wakes up, we'll be long gone." Ayin says. I agree with him on this. Let's wait until they're in bed.
"Okay, we'll wait." It's only a matter of time until I have the three sisters. Then I can get rid of the two brainless dummies, and all the power will be mine. I'm going to make sure everyone fears The Darkness.

**Dante's P.O.V.**
After our meeting with Selene, I was both scared and relieved. I'm afraid because I know the Triad is finally coming for us. I'm relieved to know we'll hopefully be able to defeat them. If we can take them down, then I'm not worried about any other problems that come our way, especially now that we know we have Satan on speed dial.
I want to take Hailey away for a while after this is over. We haven't had any real time to spend together as mates. She is the strongest person I know, but I can see the stress weighing on her. I know she blames herself for what happened to Leela and Carlos. No matter how many times I tell her she's not to blame, Hailey's still beating herself up about it.
I watch her holding Camilla and talking to Jessi, and my heart swells. I can't wait until we have our first pup. I'm hoping she goes into heat when I take her away. I can't think of anything better than spending a few days or even a week in bed with Hailey.
*"The Triad is in the forest watching the packhouse. I only mindlinked you because I didn't want anyone to let on that we know they're there."* Darius mindlinks me. If they're watching, that means they're waiting for the right time to attack.
*"Thank you."* The time has come. I walk over to Hailey and put my arm around her before kissing Camilla's little cheek. She's such a happy little pup and has been one of the few bright spots in this mess.
"I need everyone to stay calm. The Triad is in the forest, watching us. I believe they're waiting until they think we're least expecting it before they attack. Probably when we all go to bed." Everyone nods and shows no reaction to what I said.
"So what's the plan? What are we going to do to be ready for them? Should we go ahead and alert Satan?" Kerri asks. Hailey shakes her head.
"Not yet. If we call Satan now and he takes them away, others will keep coming. However, if we capture them and then alert Satan, anyone else who may be watching will think twice. I know there are others out there. We need to send the message that we're not messing around. I'm not going to let anyone else get hurt or killed because of these legends. If it looks like things aren't going to go as planned, then we call Satan. I don't think Mom would have told us about the powers all six of us have together if we just needed to use our get-out-of-jail-free card by calling Satan. Who wants to kick a little demon, monster, and witch ass?" Most people nod in agreement; I only see a few who look unsure. I want to argue with Hailey and tell her we need to call Satan now, but she's right. We need to send a warning to others.
"We're going to pretend to go to bed early. I'm going to mindlink the rest of the pack to warn them. I want them to stay in their houses and not come out unless we tell them to. Any elders and pups I want to be hidden in the safe room in the basement. The six of us will be waiting together for them to make their entrance. The rest of you, I want to be spread out, hiding throughout the house, in case they come in through different entrances. We're going to take them by surprise. This time, we'll have the upper hand. Do you have any questions?" Hailey smiles at me while the others shake their heads.
I mindlink the pack and tell them what's going on. Most are relieved to be left out of the fighting if possible. There are a few who I can tell are disappointed, but I'm adamant that they stay put. I mindlink our warriors and guards to let us know when the Triad begins moving towards the packhouse and that I want them to move inside when the Triad comes in. Everyone inside the house pretends to get ready for bed. I have one of our warriors go into the basement with the elders and the pups. Jessi entrusts Camilla into the warrior's care. I know it was hard for her after what happened last time, but we don't want any little ones around when the Triad comes.
Once everyone is in their rooms, Jessi uses her teleporting ability to get us and takes us to our assigned spots around the house. That's a cool ability to have. Hailey, Kerri, Stephanie, Ellis, Tony, and I are in the main room near the front door. It doesn't take her long to get everyone in place; now we just have to wait. About an hour later, the mindlink comes, letting us know it's show time.
*"They're moving toward the packhouse."*
