Chapter 485 Unreasonable Trouble

Chapter 485 Unreasonable Trouble

As Ava made her way through the west side of The Davis Manor, she heard from Kurt that Odette and Natalia were feeling embarrassed.

Lucas had sent them back to the estate and hired an etiquette teacher for Natalia. They hadn't been seen in public for a while, with only the teacher and guards updating Lucas on their progress.

Ava suspected a connection between Odette and the mysterious person, especially considering Skoda's death. However, with Lucas keeping an eye on them, she didn't expect any trouble soon.

Whether Odette and Natalia would communicate was still uncertain and needed further investigation.

If the two behaved, the Jennings family's inquiry might go smoothly.

Lost in thought, Ava kept walking without pause.

Although she hadn't asked directly about the masked woman's whereabouts, the maids had mentioned she was with Edmund.

Since they had recently returned, the masked woman was likely still there.

But Quinton, the elite knight, might also be present.

Balancing danger and the need for information, Ava decided to take a chance.

Realizing the dining room wouldn't yield much at this hour, she ruled out that option.

Pondering the situation, she considered that even if Edmund favored the masked woman due to the mysterious person, he wouldn't always be by her side.

The masked woman might have sought out Edmund independently, possibly to assert her power in front of him.

Her motive could be linked to Edmund's interference with Shawn's actions, prompting the masked woman to establish her authority in other ways.

Convinced that the reception room or main hall was the likely spot, Ava hid in a corner, recalling the Ramirez family map and Michael's guidance.

She opted to investigate the main hall.

Michael had mentioned that Edmund preferred handling matters in the main hall during his free time, rather than the reception room. This approach ensured transparency and kept the servants in line, deterring any rebellious thoughts.

The masked woman likely knew of Edmund's habits and purposely chose a crowded area for her display of power, demonstrating fearlessness towards the Ramirez family and any hidden threats.

The masked woman's authority and emblem carried more weight in the Ramirez family than even Edmund's leadership.

Ava's hunch proved correct.

As she quietly ascended to the top floor of the main hall, following the map's route, the tension inside was palpable.

"Edmund, do you have a problem with me?" a familiar yet distorted female voice echoed, hindered by the mask, making it hard for Ava to identify the speaker.

"It's not me who should have issues, it's you." Edmund's voice remained steady, showing little emotion, as if the masked woman's display of authority in front of everyone hadn't occurred.

The masked woman expected a different reaction. She thought Edmund would be resentful or angry but ultimately forgive her due to his father's influence.

But Edmund's composed demeanor left her fuming. How dare he disrespect her!

Despite being her father's ally, the Ramirez family's success and Edmund's position were all thanks to her father's support.

Feeling entitled to loyalty, she believed Edmund should comply with her wishes. Even if she demanded he publicly humiliate himself, he should obey.

But Edmund's indifference infuriated her. She had only harmed Shawn, yet Edmund didn't question her actions. Quinton, the cunning servant, didn't intervene either, attributing everything to Shawn's lack of respect for her.

The masked woman seethed at the injustice. Edmund's response triggered her, causing her to explode like a balloon meeting a sharp object.

"Of course, I have issues. Have you forgotten I represent my father here at the Ramirez Villa?"

"I haven't forgotten," Edmund replied.

"In that case, you should understand that my actions reflect my father's will. You all agreed to Melantha's new plan, leaving Shawn with her. As long as I don't kill Shawn, why do you think you can restrain me in my father's name?"

Edmund fell silent, his expression hinting at a desire to put the masked woman in her place.

However, he composed himself, "I thought your father was being polite when he called you foolish. Seems like he was just being honest."

The masked woman paused briefly, then erupted, "How dare you insult me!"

"Leaving aside whether I insulted you or not, have your parents not taught you respect for your elders? Shouting at me in my home, do you truly believe I'll tolerate your behavior in the name of your father?"
