The Reunion
Keira Pov
Alluring scents fill my nostrils as my mind reawakens. It's been days since the last time I inhaled those scents. Back when our mate bond existed. So this must be a dream. I briefly struggle to get my eyes open.
A pair of soft lips kisses mine just as my eyes finally blink open.
"Told you she just needed our close touch," Garren says after pulling back. "She has woken," he anounces and two more beautiful faces gather next to him, staring down at me with happy smiles.
It's not a dream, our mate bond is back. Probably because of the shaman's death. We didn't get to celebrate our marriage, and after getting nearly killed I finally realised how fragile everything in life is. I was too focused on winning battles that I forgot to enjoy my relationship with my gorgeous mates.
Arina's attack awakened the part of me that desired pleasant things again. Because I learned that anything can be taken away easily and all that will be left is regret. Because I didn't allow myself time to enjoy the things I longed for when I was a nobody. I haven't tried on enough of the exquisite dresses. Neither have I opened my heart to the love of my mates. The men that every young woman desires.
Arina had more fun with them within the few days they were under her spell than I have had throughout the time we have been together.
"Welcome back, honey," Fenris pecks my forehead. "I wonder if you are you feeling well enough to listen to a ton of apologies?"
I shake my head. All they did was love and protect the woman they thought was me. I cannot blame any of them for my pain. They did what they thought was right and that proved that they truly love me.
"You have nothing to apologise for. Your minds were under that witches spell. You didn't hurt me intentionally," I say.
Even Conrad seems surprised. Did they think I would hold grudges against them for things they had no control over? And if my thoughts were that petty, I would still be wise enough to not to show any sign of anger right now. Unless my father and friends are not alive and well.
"Still . . . we are sorry for hurting you. We would be doomed without you by our side. We must apologise for putting you in this bed," Garren says.
"The only thing you must apologise for is standing here while I am hungry. I want a delicious cake and my favourite fruits," I say.
They all chuckle, looking relieved. "I will personally bake your cake, your majesty," Garren says with an excited smile then leaves the room to get me the food.
Arina slept in here, in my chambers. Put on some of the dresses that the best tailors made for me and even opened a few of my gift boxes given to me on the day of my wedding with the angel kings. If I were her I would have felt ashamed and uncomfortable trying to become another woman by hiding my true self just so I can have her instead mine. Her crazy desires made her lose her father, the only family she had. But people like her are too selfish to blame themselves. She will try taking revenge using the dark stone, unaware that it's dark energy doesn't exactly grant you what you want.
"I wish hurting you physically is the only sin we committed," Fenris says in a sorrowful tone. "The witch was excited to have . . . sex with us. We agreed because we thought she was you," he reveals and waits for my reaction.
I remember that she was kissing and caressing his bare skin on the couch in the palace parlour on the day that she arrived and put them under her spells. They were too enchanted at the time that they couldn't even recognize my face. Still I do not blame them, unless any had sex with Arina purposely knowing that she isn't me.
"I am jealous of that witch. She must have appreciated your good looks?" I say and both him and Conrad raise their eyebrows.
"Does this mean you're not angry about that too?" Fenris asks in a skeptical voice.
"I will be if you fail to love me the same," I answer. Both look amused by my answer.
Our mate bond is back and the attraction between us is heavier than ever before. My mind only hurts mildly and the wound on the palm of my is well dressed. I do not feel much pain anymore.
Angels Fenris and angel Conrad lean down and start kissing my neck. The soft touch sends sensations throughout my body. I smile as my mind welcomes the strange feelings without fear or hesitation.
"Where is my father?" I ask.
