Chapter 58 Elder Vincent's pov

Chapter 58 Elder Vincent's pov
“I am so going to kill all of them! The very last of those foolish Alphas. Do they think they can come and claim everything I had tried to build over the years?

No!

Everything was going to change the moment Sienna's man was found. I needed to stop it. “Guards!” I yelled.

One of the guards walked in and bent a knee. “Command me, great one,” he said with his head bowed to the floor.

“Follow, Alpha Efron’s men. Make sure you kill every last one of them and, of course, the old man in question. I want his head brought to me.” I said in haste. “Go now!”

The young man ran out immediately.

I ran my hands over my hair. Everything would have been easier if Oliver had waited for my plan. I was not sure why she did it.

Alpha Thomas didn't suspect that I was going to take the pack from him. After all, it was me who fought and won his battles. I took care of his mess while he got to sit on the throne.

A throne that should have been mine in the first place.

God!

I hit my hands against the wall, and it caved under the weight of it. And Juliet, she was supposed to be killed.

That was the order.

I heard a knock at the door. “Come on in.” I said slowly, my eyes darting towards it.

Oliver walked in with Juliet by his side.

“You have the nerve to bring her here? After I gave my orders. Are you trying to get us killed, Olivere?” I asked with my eyebrows arched.

“No father,” she said, walking closer to me.

“If Juliet had died now, then that means we did it. Stephan's uncles will have a reason to doubt us, and we might be killed. I had to think it through and stop the guards.”

I looked at Juliet, who seems to be scared. “And you,” I shifted my gaze towards her. My step was well calculated as I deviated from my daughter and walked closer to her.

“Was Sienna right when she said you knew that she stole the vial of poison?”

Juliet stammered as she tried to open her mouth.

“Hush! You had better think twice before you tell me your answer. Or I am going to claw out for your throat where you stand!” I snapped.

“I didn't see it. I only saw her take a few possessions of Olivere. I guess she was going to run; that was why I had her through the window.” she replied.

“You should have made sure that she was dead. Dead women don't come back from the grave.” I said, looking away.

“What do we do, Father? We can't let them get the old man. What if Sienna was right? What if the old man truly knows something?” Olivere asked.

I turned, and I could see that she was scared and worried. “That is something you should have thought about the moment you wanted to act. You might be able to fool Stephan but definitely not his old uncles.”

I went back to my seat. I opened my whiskey bottle and drank some of it. I needed to think of a plan to counter the mess, but the more I tried to think, the more nothing came.

I gaze at Juliet, and I know I have to give her a post. Something to have her glue to us and work for me. Not as my daughter's best friend but as a servant for me.

“You are good to be my personal assistant as of today.” I said without lifting my gaze to meet her.

“What? Me?” "Juliet," I said, walking closer to my table. “What? You don't want it?”

“Why are you trying to make me work for you?” she asked, her gaze fixed on me this time.

I had to be careful. I can't tell her the reason, though. I needed to keep an eye on her and also try and find out what she was truly hiding and what she wanted.

I could see the look in her eyes. She was a woman of ambition.

Maybe she wanted position or even power. Olivere cannot see that, but I do, and I need to keep a close eye on her.

“You are going to resume work after all of this is over. You are going to get a place in my home and also eat my food.” I commanded.

“And what if I say no? What if I don't want to work for you, sir?” She asked with a trembling voice.

She asked, starting to get on my nerves. Starting to irritate me. I lifted my gaze, and she lowered her head immediately.

“Are you refusing me?” I asked.

“Father, can you please reconsider this? Juliet works for me. She is my.”

“Stay out of this, Olivere. One more word from you and I am going to sever her head from her shoulder!” I snapped, hitting my hand so hard against the table that it broke into two.

“Are you going to work with me, or are you not? You had better think carefully about your choice of words, Juliet. Because your choice is the only thing that is going to decide whether you are going to be walking through that door or not.”

The room felt tense and almost as if the air was not enough for the three of us to breathe.

Only if Oliver knew that I was doing this for us. For me!

I have always had eyes on the throne, and now that I was this close to it, nothing was going to stop me from taking it.

Juliet looked at Olivere and back at me. “Are you threatening me, Elder Vincent?” she asked with a smirk plastered on her face.

“Threaten? Oh no, dear. I am not doing any of that. I am merely trying to give you the opportunity to rise above your level. Think of what you could accomplish with a man like me behind your backs. You could have anything you want, do anything you want to, and no one will check you. Won't that be nice?” I said with a smile, hiding my venom in my heart.
