Nicholas Smith was here!
Mr. Blackwood? Who was Mr. Blackwood?
Nicholas stormed into the room and shoved Victor to the ground. “How could you be so foolish as not to recognize Mr. Blackwood? I will make you pay for your mistake!” he roared angrily.
Nicholas continued to curse as he kicked Victor with unrestrained fury. Victor, who had previously been so arrogant and self-important, now lay on the floor, whimpering and cringing as if he were a dog being punished.
Loretta looked on in complete confusion. What on earth was happening?
The men around them were also in a state of panic. Was it really true that the young man was Mr. Blackwood? They had nearly crossed a dangerous line with their actions. They were essentially digging their own graves!
Nicholas glared at the remaining group members, his frustration palpable. “And you fools too! Why are you standing there like idiots? Apologize to Mr. Blackwood at once!”
Without hesitation, the men fell to their knees, their voices full of desperation. “Mr. Blackwood, we are incredibly sorry! We failed to recognize your true identity and we beg for your forgiveness!”
Victor, trembling with fear, slapped himself and begged for mercy. “Mr. Blackwood, I am so very sorry for my disrespect. Please forgive me and spare me from your wrath!”
Nicholas, acknowledging his own role in the blunder, also slapped himself in self-reproach. “Mr. Blackwood, I deeply regret my own incompetence that led my men to offend you. I apologize for their actions and assure you that it will never happen again.”
Andrew, observing the commotion with calm detachment, turned to Loretta and said, “I only came here to have a meal with a friend of my wife’s.” He then addressed the group coldly, “They are not my acquaintances.”
Loretta was stunned. Andrew wasn’t exaggerating. He had indeed made a reservation at the most luxurious Platinum Suite at Grand Pavilion, and it had been personally arranged for him by Nicholas Smith!
As she thought back to her earlier disdain for Andrew, she felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment. She was overwhelmed by a deep sense of shame for her previous judgments.
Meanwhile, Aden was shaking with fear as he took in the situation. Was it really possible that Andrew, whom he had regarded as a mere failure, was actually connected to Nicholas Smith?
Sarah was equally taken aback. Andrew truly knew Nicholas Smith and the respect shown to him was absolutely genuine!
She glanced at Daniel, who was lying unconscious amidst his own blood.
Nicholas wiped the sweat from his forehead and assured Andrew, “Mr. Blackwood, you need not worry. This sort of incident will not happen again. You are welcome to use the Platinum Suite at the Grand Pavilion anytime you wish. Should my men fail to recognize you again, I will make sure they face severe consequences!”
Andrew nodded and addressed Loretta. “We’ve finished our meal. Let’s leave now. It’s quite chaotic here.”
Loretta, still in shock from what had just transpired, asked nervously, “What will happen to them?”
She looked at Aden, Daniel, and Sarah, feeling worried about their dire conditions.
Andrew responded calmly, “Let Nicholas handle it.”
Nicholas immediately took action, saying, “Mr. Blackwood, I will call for an ambulance and ensure they are taken to the hospital right away!”
“Alright,” Andrew agreed with a nod. “I leave the rest to you.”
Still dazed by the events, Loretta followed Andrew out of Grand Pavilion. Her heart raced, and she breathed heavily as they exited the restaurant.
She glanced at Andrew, who maintained an impassive expression, as though nothing had happened, and felt a profound sense of awe at his mysterious demeanor.
“Andrew, about what happened today...” she began.
Before she could continue, Andrew interjected with a calm tone, “Loretta, I would appreciate it if you kept today’s events to yourself. If Clara finds out that I am connected to someone like Nicholas Smith, she will be very upset.”
Loretta nodded slowly. “I understand. I will keep it a secret.”
After Andrew and Loretta left, Nicholas called for an ambulance and arranged for the injured to be taken to the hospital. Sarah had suffered severe facial injuries that left her disfigured, Aden had a broken arm that would require a long recovery, and Daniel had sustained a severe head injury that, despite emergency care, would cause lasting problems.
Loretta was scheduled to begin her role at Blackwood Group the next day, having arranged this with Janet Amster, the vice-chairman.
Early the next morning, Andrew took her to the Blackwood Group headquarters. Janet greeted her personally, handed her the appointment letter, gave her a brief orientation of her responsibilities, and told her she could come to her with any questions.
Eager to understand her new role, Loretta asked Janet, “Miss Amster, will there be an opportunity for me to meet the chairman? Since I will be handling the company’s administrative affairs, I need to make sure I understand his expectations.”
Janet assured her, “You will meet the chairman when the time is right. For now, focus on your new role, and feel free to reach out to me with any concerns.”
Loretta felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as she began her new job. Her father had given her a secret mission: the young master of the powerful Blackwood family, who had been missing for years, had recently been found and had taken over as chairman of Blackwood Group.
In WWestcliff while the Adrian family was significant, they were not as influential as the Blackwood family, who held a much higher status in the social hierarchy.
With the identity of the young master still unknown, the Adrian family hoped that Loretta could meet him, potentially build a relationship, and secure a favorable position for her family.
Although she was somewhat reluctant about this assignment, she recognized the importance of the mission and the opportunity it presented.
Her main goal for coming to Beverly Hills and joining Blackwood Group was to connect with the enigmatic chairman and make a favorable impression.
As a renowned beauty in Wastcliff’s elite circles, she believed her appearance, intelligence, and skills would give her a chance to attract the young master’s attention and elevate her family’s status to the top tier of Wastcliff’s society.
Thinking about the upcoming days filled her with a sense of thrill, and she eagerly anticipated meeting the mysterious Mr. Blackwood.
Curious about him, she pulled out her phone and watched a popular video where a man had humiliated a sales manager with a large amount of cash. She had analyzed this video many times, believing that the wealthy figure in it was actually the young master of the Blackwood family.
She scrutinized the video, observing the man’s back and inferring that he was in his twenties, tall, and athletic, though his face was obscured.
Despite this, she couldn’t help but feel a strange resemblance between the man in the video and Andrew.
She quickly dismissed the thought, rationalizing that Andrew was far from the stature of the Blackwood family and couldn’t possibly be the young master.
The next day, Loretta arrived early at the Blackwood Group headquarters. Janet Amster personally handled her appointment, showing her around, explaining her duties, and offering her assistance.
Loretta, eager to do well, asked Janet if she would have the chance to meet the chairman, as understanding his expectations was crucial for her role.
Janet assured her that she would meet the chairman at the appropriate time and encouraged her to focus on her new position and come to her with any questions.
