Lucifer
We walked a part of Central Park and then back to the Hotel, Kid was getting tired and I had business to attend to. Business meaning Niki. We walked into the Hotel and Kid moved closer to me “What’s wrong?” I asked her “Just getting cold.” “We should have bought you a jacket.” “We are leaving tomorrow there is no need for a jacket. I have lots at home.” “You okay with going home tomorrow?” “Yes, we can’t stay in New York forever.” No, we cannot.” I told her. I stayed in New York before it’s a lovely City to visit but not to stay in. When we got to the suite Kid kissed me and said “I’m going to lay down.” She was better but I think she still had some sleep to catch up on. “Okay I’ll be right out here.” “Love you Lucifer.” I looked at her because that was just a surprise. “I love you to Kid.” “Thanks for today.” “It was my pleasure.” Kid closed the door leaving me alone in the living room. I went to the bar, poured myself a glass of whiskey then I called Angel and Niki to the living room.
Angel was first then Niki came in he didn’t look very good. “What’s wrong Niki?” “Nothing why?” “You don’t look so good.” “Hangover.” He was talking shit we don’t get hangovers. “You think I’m born yesterday?” I asked him “No but I don’t know why you say something is wrong with me.” “Okay let’s not go down that road. Tell me how many bodies is laying in New York streets since we’ve been here?” That got his attention. “What do you mean?” “Were do you go at night?” “I walk around.” “How do you feed?” That didn’t get me an answer “That’s a personal question.” He said eventually. “Not if the police come knocking on my door.” “I’m not stupid Lucifer I won’t let the police knock on your door.” “Okay Niki I’ve decided with Heath that is going to stay with us your services are not needed anymore so you can fly back with us tomorrow and I’ll give you a month’s pay but I have to let you go.”
“I was expecting this.” He said not worrying at all. “And don’t worry I don’t need a lift back to Seattle I’m going to stay a while.” “As you please.” When Niki walked out of the room Angel was still standing there. “You think he drank from someone that was high?” He asked me. “We’ll it’s that or his high himself.” “Can we even get high.” Angel asked me. “You’ve never tried any of that stuff earlier on in your vampire state?” “Nope not at all.” “Oh, dear I tried everything, I wanted to see if there was anything out there that can kill me.” “I guess you didn’t find it?” “I did not. I did however find out you can get high and you can have a very bad trip if you drink from someone that was on cocaine or heroin.” “Maybe that is what is wrong with him.” “Maybe.” “What did Heath say?” “He will stay with us but will only join us in a week.” “How does Kid feel about that?” “She’s a bit anxious she’s not sure she can believe him.” “But you do?” “I do yes he wants to be part of her life I could see it; he is afraid his betraying his promise to her mom but he is giving Kid the option and that is what counts.” I agree. We heard the door slam closed so hard even Kid came out of the room. “What was that?” She asked looking at me with huge eyes.
Kid
I just fallen asleep when I heard a very hard bang, it sounded like gun fire to me. I jumped out of the bed and ran to the living room I wanted to make sure Lucifer was okay. “What’s that?” I actually screamed at him and Angel. Lucifer got up and took me in his arms. “It was just Niki leaving Kid.” “So loudly I though someone was shot.” “I don’t think he was happy.” “You don’t say?” She said sarcastically. “He scared the bejeezes out of me.” “I’m sorry love.” “I don’t even think I will be able to go back to bed.” “Come sit here with us, we are exchanging war stories.” That sounded interesting. “No Lucifer you were exchanging stories not me.” “Angel come on we are linked tell us something about you.” Lucifer asked him as he took a seat opposite us.
He looked down and got very very quiet. I thought he wasn’t going to speak when he did, I wished he didn’t. “I was turned in front of my wife and 9-year-old son.” “Oh my God that’s terrible.” I said. “It was, what was worse was it was my wife’s brother that turned me. He was coming for a visit, but when I opened the door, I could see something was wrong with him but I invited him in non the less. My son came running to me telling me his uncle wasn’t the same anymore and we should let him go out, when he heard that he grabbed my son. I jumped in and got my son away from him, I gave him to my wife and told her to run but she didn’t want to she missed her brother. He launched at her but I came in the way and he pushed his fangs inside of my neck. He didn’t drink me empty but he did turn me. I laid on the ground for about a day when I finally came to, I was covered with a sheet, my wife thought I was dead. But I woke up with a deep thirst. I wanted blood, when I pulled of the sheet and saw my son, he got such a fright he ran to his mom I wanted to drink from them so badly but when I saw the look on my wife’s face, I had to run I was too afraid I would hurt them and I’ve been running ever since.” “When was that?” Lucifer asked him “1919"
