Chapter 71 Death among them
“Fortunately… it will,” Simon responded, this time his psycho smile came back to his face. His red hair scattered on his forehead like slick. He was wearing a red cloak hiding almost all parts of his skin except for the face.
Isabella was in her normal white garment as usual, matching her silver hair. Her skin was white and shiny and it perfectly fit her appearance.
“Why kill me?What have I done wrong? Say it and I promise to apologize no matter what,” she pleaded as tears emerged from her eyes on the verge of falling.
“Pfft, that trick won't work on me. Evan, move aside,” Simon advised. This time he had gotten even angrier. His face grew darker and his red eyes glowed further.
Then he released an electric strike from his hand into the ground and it immediately shocked the ground with high impact, making Evan and Isabella tremble to their knees. Unexpectedly, Evan fell unconscious.
“Evan,Evan wake up! Wake up!!” Isabella called out, her knees on the ground trying to get hold of Evan's hand. She spat out blood, still trying to compose herself.
“You killed her, right?” Simon asked, walking closer to her. “You monster! I'll make sure you die a horrible death!” he added and released another electric bolt, but this time he struck it directly at Isabella. Before it could land on her, she brought out her silver sword, using it to block it and then sending it back to him. Simon effortlessly dodged, smiling like a psycho.
“I'd like to see how long you'll be alive to fight me.A mere witch like you wants to fight a pureblooded vampire? Asking for death? Even if you're the witch queen, you're no match.” With that, he released something unrecognizable in liquid form, wrapping it around Isabella's legs. She instantly dropped to the ground screaming for help.
“Simon… you're ruthless!” She cursed, gritting her teeth. “Make sure I die a horrible death, not just torture, or I'll make you pay!” Her silver eyes glowed more and her silver sword disappeared. She can't just die like that. At least fight first and not give herself to the enemy. She brought out her second sword. As a witch queen, she had ten silver swords, the next one more powerful than the last. And of course, Isabella usually used only the first one and hardly brought the second one out. This one was entirely made of ice. Transparent and long. Sharp as ever.
She pinned it on the ground, using it to help her stand to her feet.
“Bastard! If you think you're a pureblooded vampire, then come at me!”
“In that case,I won't hold back, dear,” Simon said, pulling out a sword from his back that he was secretly hiding. The two began fighting seriously. Isabella was desperate, wanting to kill him because he hurt Evan, but he was overpowering her. It was obvious he was skilled with swordsmanship and so was she. Simon could see that she was no ordinary person to kill. After all the dodges, Isabella made, the sword pierced into her stomach and Simon smiled, pleased.
“Die, bitch!”
“Don't think you'd get away!”She retorted back, and Simon watched as her sword faded into thin air. He was surprised; after all, witches were filled with surprises.
Waiting for the worse,he grabbed her by her neck, his grip as hard as iron.
“L-let m..m……me go!”She struggled to speak, but vampire strength was so strong and powerful.
“What the fuck?”Zeke arrived, seeing the scene. Surprisingly, he wasn't with Lord Raphael. Seeing him alone, Simon smirked. Lord Raphael and he had unexpectedly met up with some council officials, and to avoid suspicion that Lord Raphael came here personally to investigate, he stayed with them and told Zeke to head back.
“What are you doing?” asked Zeke, puzzled.
“Killing them,”Simon replied with a smile. Then he looked at the ground and saw Evan laying unmoving. His mouth fell open and his hand formed a fist. He gritted his teeth.
“Who did that?Who did that to her?” he asked in rage.
“Me,of course,” replied Simon, smiling sarcastically.
Zeke's anger was now controlling his entire body and he was about to strike Simon with fire when something strange happened.
Something pierced into Simon, directly into his heart.
Blood gushed out of his mouth and the grip on Isabella's neck loosened.
Simon staggered back, holding the sharp blade in his chest.
“Unfortunately….If someone is dying today, it'll be you!” Evan's voice rang out. She stood effortlessly from the ground. Behind her were sharp, icy weapons in different shapes.
Simon dropped to his knees on the ground, trembling. His entire body began freezing.
Isabella also fell because the liquid Simon used in wrapping around her was actually burning lava.It had badly burnt her skin.
“Hey,you're okay, right?” Evan asked Ella, running to her.
“Don't worry,I'm fine,” Isabella replied, giving a slight smile. Evan placed her hand on Isabella's burnt legs and closed her eyes. Long tears rolled down her cheeks. Her heart was completely shattered.
“I'm sorry,” was the only thing she muttered. In the meantime, Zeke went to Simon, who was on the verge of freezing to death. He pulled the ice weapon out of his chest and Simon spat out more blood.
“Why? Why did you do that?” He asked. He knew Simon too well. They had grown up knowing each other and he knew Simon isn't someone who would do something like this for no reason. Though he was a psycho always killing even if it's innocent people, but this was Evan and the witch queen, not just any random person he could kill, so why do it.
Simon usually loves torturing people and that gave him excitement but… he can't gain anything from killing the white witch queen or Evan.
“You won't understand.I want revenge!! I…. I… have no intentions of hurting Evan but…” he lifted his hand, pointing at Isabelle.
“She has to die,”he added.
Zeke rolled his eyes.“How boring… now you almost lost your life…. So this is why you were so quiet, right?” asked Zeke.
“She killed Lena!I'll kill her.”
Simon confessed.
