Chapter 60 Lord Raphael

Chapter 60 Lord Raphael
“It’s peaceful to be with family, hehe,” Lord Raphael let out a dry laugh that sounded so strange. He made himself comfortable on one of the chairs, sitting down as if he owned the earth—spreading his legs wide and putting his hands on the arms of the chair as if he were the king of the universe.

“Sit properly,” said Ezekiel, eyes frowning frustratedly.

“Why? I am the Lord of Greenwave anyway,” Lord Raphael replied as he laid his head lazily, looking up at the ceiling.

“Pfft. Who cares? Just don’t lord in my house. At least have respect for my late father.” Saying this, Ezekiel walked to where Lord Raphael was sitting, throwing his body on the sofa. Lord Raphael turned his gaze on him. Ezekiel held his gaze. Then he winked at Ezekiel, making Zeke lift a brow.

“Huh?”

“Ha... I’ll be going to my room,” said Evan from the other side, making the two look at her. She stood up, dragging her legs lazily to the stairs. Looking at her in broad daylight, Lord Raphael couldn’t help but admire.

“Hey, Zeke. This Evan of a girl is really pretty,” he bent down, whispering into Zeke’s ear. Zeke sent him a burning glare, gritting his teeth in rage.

“Haha, Zeke. Don’t tell me you still want her. You can sell her to another land and I assure you she would make a lot of money for us...”

“I can hear you.” Lord Raphael’s lips froze in the air just by hearing Evan’s voice. Even the air in his throat was stuck. Seeing the Lord’s expression made Zeke let out a dry chuckle.

“Go to your room, my pet.” Evan’s legs that were about to move halted in the air. She spun around, glancing at Ezekiel. What she saw made her jaw fall. He winked at her as a chuckle left his delicate lips.

“Huh?” she exclaimed, eyes popping out. “What did you say? What did you say?” Evan asked, flabbergasted.

“What? Who are you asking? Go to your room immediately! Do you know who he is? My favorite duke!” Lord Raphael boasted. Evan opened her mouth to say something but only for it to close again. She didn’t want to get herself into more trouble just by talking to Lord Raphael.

“I... I’ll go now.” Saying that, she ran upstairs, making the duke laugh harder.

“Hehe, now I see why you love this girl,” said Lord Raphael, pressing his hand on his temple.

“Raphael, stop being dramatic. It doesn’t suit your face,” said Ezekiel nonchalantly.

“Why are you here?” Ezekiel asked sarcastically, his expression changing—screaming something dangerous.

Lord Raphael cleared his throat, turning his face to Zeke. He looked at Zeke’s gray eyes as a smile tugged on his lips.

“Has someone ever told you you have your father’s eyes?” Raphael asked.

“Yes,” replied Zeke, holding his gaze.

“Who?” Raphael shot the question almost immediately.

“Haha.” The laugh Zeke let out held no feelings at all. “Myself, of course,” he said, breaking his gaze from Raphael’s eyes.

“Let me have the maids get you something to drink, dear,” Zeke informed, making Raphael blink. The boy never did this. Ezekiel darted his eyes, trying to spot a maid.

“Huh? Zeke, why are you so nice today?”

“Why? I am happy, that’s why,” said Ezekiel in a tone that sounded too weird, as if he had been doing it before.

“Ah... I get it now.” Raphael leaned his back further on the sofa as if realizing something.

“It’s Evan. She’s a bad influence on you! She’s melting your ice-cold heart.”

Zeke just ignored him, trying not to get into a fight with this man.

“Hey, come over here!” Zeke finally spotted a maid. The maid walked towards them just as her master had asked. Reaching two steps away, she gave a slight bow.

“At your service, Master Ezekiel,” she replied with a warm smile.

“Welcome, milord.” She turned to Raphael, greeting him, bending to her waist level.

“Haha, beautiful lady, you’re so pretty...”

Lord Raphael was interrupted by Ezekiel.

“Get a glass of water for our guest.”

“What?” The breath in Lord Raphael’s throat stuck. No way to get it out. He tried breathing, but it felt impossible.

Zeke was ruthless and nonchalant. So was Lord Raphael. Raphael had no feelings at all for anyone. The only one he loved and truly treasured was Ezekiel.

He loved the kid from the first time he saw him. He was nonchalant and totally his type, so Lord Raphael decided to make him as ruthless as himself. He was the one that taught Zeke how to kill—it was all him.

He loved the boy and wanted him to be exactly like him. And for the first time in his life, someone finally caught his attention. He was amazed by Zeke’s abilities. He was capable.

THE PAST

Screams of people could be heard in the cozy sitting room. There was no light—only a single dim candlelight accompanied by the fireplace. Dead bodies could be seen everywhere, and the floor was covered with red crimson.

“Have mercy! Have mercy!” a man begged. He was a pure-blooded vampire also—one of the respected vampire elites in that empire—but it seemed like he had betrayed them together with his entire family.

Lord Raphael grabbed his hair, pulling it hard.

“Please have mercy, milord,” he begged bitterly. Some councilmen were also present. They were all adults apart from Ezekiel. Ezekiel was fifteen years old at that time. He leaned lazily on the wall a bit far from where the nightmare was happening, his eyes dull, marked with no interest. This was the very first time he was seeing this type of scene. Lord Raphael thought showing the boy things like this would definitely strengthen him mentally—not knowing that the boy was born mentally strong.

Lord Raphael had already killed most of the man’s family members, including his wife. He glanced up, seeing Ezekiel who stood at the corner.

“Yo, Zeke!” he called, and the boy lifted his head.

“Come here. Let me teach you something quickly.”

Ezekiel walked to where he was.

“How do you feel?” Lord Raphael asked.

“As usual,” Zeke replied. At this point, Lord Raphael didn’t know what was good or bad anymore—if he was truly doing the right thing by bringing a fifteen-year-old kid to watch something like this.

“Look at what I’m about to do and repeat after me.” Saying this, Zeke nodded his head. Lord Raphael let go of the man, taking one of the man’s bodyguards who was still crying in a
gony. Then with force, he used his bare hands and ripped off his head, making Zeke’s jaw fall open.
